Man, I've never thought about it but a Korean War Battlefield would actually be awesome, at least if it were done competently. (So not by DICE in its current state.) Big tank battles, lots of variety in terrain and weather, early jet gunfights, helicopters, etc.

Many of the early helo prototypes were german so I doubt its Wehrs. I think it has to do with authenticity. Sturmtigers, despite their extremely limited production "look" like they belong in a WW2 setting. Helicopters don't for most people.
Then again if you wanted an authentic WW2 experience (not necessarily realistic) I don't know why you're playing BFV

They weren't very consistent, but the closest thing they had was "untold stories of WW2", featuring women resistance fighters, black french guys, ect, with varying, but mostly riddiculous historicalisim. Not quite wolfenstein 3d, but headed that way clearly..
