Are you enjoying your Switch bros? What are you playing and picking up next?
Comfy Switch Thread
DMCV Comfy Chocobo Mystery Dungeon when it comes out later this month
Should I buy Let's Go edition? Or which one?
I am greatly enjoying my switch.
>playan
BotW. 109 shrines, 220 koroks, 2/3 through Trial of the Sword. Gonna do the DLC before I finish the game, I've told myself it's part of the main quest.
>next
Mario Odyssey
One of the normal sets with 35 eshop bux included. Make sure the box says it's included.
>Let's Go
I'm playing it now, it's my first Pokemon game and I'm finding it kind of... lame. It's gotta be the easiest game I've ever played. I did some research and saw people doing "nuzlocke" challenges where they impose a bunch of arbitrary rules on themselves to make things harder, but that shouldn't be necessary. I can't stress how easy it is, and how unrewarding that makes it. Basically it's a comfy walking simulator, because the battles are a joke.
Went through Sky Force Reloaded a few days ago. Fucking wish you could remap the buttons but for some stupid reason you can't on the Switch version.
Currently playing nothing because this cold is fucking killing me.
Waiting on Dragon Marked for Death physical release to happen before the community completely dies out.
Thinking about picking up one of these for retro games. I also want an extra controller for Smash but I'm worried about input lag with multiplayer. Can any one using one with the latest firmware tell me how it is with 3+ controllers?
Oh fuuuuuuuck
I mostly consider getting it for the console visuals, don't really care about the game itself. I will just wait for sword & shield for an actual pokemon game.
no pikmin no hope
Hope it’s at least as good as the pc version and not some downscaled port.
>Waiting on Dragon Marked for Death
Don't, user. It's really not a good game.
>boring level design
>most stages recycled 2-3 times
>the difficulty is entirely dependent on whether you get a good weapon drop or not
>most bosses have few attacks and die too quickly in multiplayer
>multiplayer is lame because there's almost zero cooperation outside of bosses
>unique character skills mostly amount to getting a few extra chests
The graphics and music are really the best things.
Completed Pokemon Let's Go Eevee a couple days ago, planning on catching one of everything and levelling up a shit ton more pokemon to play some online battles with, been playing Skyrim on my Switch the past couple days and I've never enjoyed Skyrim this much before! Really really loving it. Tonight I decided to play Deltarune Chapter 1 for the first time and as an Undertale fanboy I'm really enjoying it and I'm definitely gonna pay for Chapter 2.
>keep getting errors trying to download games from the eShop
>find out I might have to re-format my SD card to stop this
God damn it. Is getting the Nintendo Switch online membership the only way to back-up all my save data stored in my SD card?
Is it a 256GB Samsung card? Also, save data isn't in the SD card.
how is hyrule warriors? been waffling about getting it for weeks now.
got my switch in January and only have BOTW, Smash and Dark Souls Remastered
Is Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate a good buy or should I just get a 3DS again?
Been playing a shitton of Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. Been trying to beat the Termina map but I'm kind of stuck on D14 because my Volga is underleveled (In order to progress to the giant's mask I need an A rank which is why I'm stuck. Using the 2 joycons to control 2 characters while effective, is a bit tedious considering A-Rank requires 2000+ KOS, a time under 20 minutes, and with 2 players 2 joycons, making sure one player doesn't get fucking destroyed by enemies invading the allied base while your out defeating one of the enemy captains)
Thinking of either getting the Ace Attorney Trilogy or getting The World Ends With You Final Remix. Leaning more towards Pheonix Wright but not entirely sure which one I should get.
I thought I was a smart boy, but in reality I was...Tardy.
About halfway through BotW now and playing smash online
After BotW I'll beat Mario Odyssey and then I have a whole backlog of downloaded games
Okami HD
TSA: NMH
Hollow knight
Fast rmx
Ikaruga
Code of princess
And a few more
Too many games, not enough time
MHGU is good. There's a demo if you want to see how it looks and runs. It's been dropping in price at least for physical copies.
It was like a dollar and my friends and I keep losing card decks.
Amazing if you're a Zelda fan. So much content it will last you weeks and weeks and weeks
Really? So my Warframe and GALAK-Z progress will be safe and won't be erased if I reformat my SD Card? And it's one of those MOVTIL 400GB SD Cards.
RemiLore. Fun little roguelike.
I'm playing Smash, trying to figure out who will be my main(s). I'm like Samus/Dark Samus so far. I want to learn Dr. Mario but that recovery is fucking awful. How do I get around that other than not getting knocked off the stage?
All save data is stored on the console. You'll be fine formatting your sd card. However, it's possible you got scammed on that card. If you haven't done so yet, you should test the card on your computer by downloading h2testw and using it to test the card. If it finds errors, it means the card is either faulty or not actually 400GB. Format the card before testing so the program checks the whole thing.
Where are the rail shooters and light gun ports?
Looks like a chinkshit card that isn't actually 400 GB. Just buy one from trustworthy companies such as samsung and you can't go wrong.
Aw crap. I've had it over a month. It's too late to return it if that's the case.
That said, what reliable SD cards would you recommend?
Been playing through some indy stuff I never bothered with on PC. Just finished Inside (that ending, fucking hell) and halfway through Valiant Hearts: The Great War.
Samsung
Kingston
Sandisk
Adata
Verbatim
In this order
Sandisk or Samsung are usually reliable, but always test the card if you buy it online. Amazon mixes their stock with all their sellers, so you can still get fakes buying "ships from and sold by Amazon". Also, it'll take hours to test a 200+GB card if you're not using a USB 3.0 port and card reader.
So it's safer to buy from physical stores. Okay. Best Buy reliable for that? Do they test the card in front of you if you ask?
I left it with my girlfriend so she can play it and I’m probably not going to get it back anytime soon but I will finish rabbids when I do
I mean, they literally called it the pokemon game for casuals, it was to teach normies how to play pokemon and get some easy money.
I guess I'm one of the normies who learned how to play, their plan worked. Only I'm turned off by the simplicity. It's just
>enter battle
>choose pokemon type that has advantage
>attack
>repeat
I see there are all sorts of stats but those don't seem to matter at all since I'm one-hitting nearly everything in the game.
I honestly want to like it, I can see the potential.
Some people including me had trouble with 256GB Samsung micro SD cards after the last Switch update. Every download after that would be corrupted and formatting the card did nothing to fix it. I tested the card multiple times and no problem could be found. I ended up buying a new one before I knew other people had the same issue, but the new one ended up working just fine.
It's safer, but Best Buy charges considerably more. As far as I know, they don't test cards there, and they would probably charge an unreasonable amount to do so if they do. I'd just buy one from Amazon because it's cheaper and they accept returns or replacement requests within 30 days.
The in-depth mechanics don't really matter during the story run, you're only ever really going to start having to consider them in the post-game areas.
You should try emerald or a DS game then, they arent as easy and you have actual challange in the post game.
Emerald and the DS games are still braindead easy during the main game, it's only the postgame that has anything resembling challenge.
r8h8, i only need to finish Crash, Wargroove, DMfD and SV.
I wish wargroove had an online ranking or something, the main campaign is boring and playing online against people than surrender as soon as you get an advantage is sad.
DMfD was fun at the start but im level 15 and cant solo many lvl10 quests, i need to git gud.
Im not sure if i like SV, is like RF but ugly.
How was the MMX Collection?
bump
Well hopefully there's something to look forward to in the postgame. I've been racing through it to finish so I can trade it in and get something else, but if there's better content later that would be nice. It's a game about battling, I should be sweating sometimes ya know?
What game are you playing exactly?
Pokemon Let's Go
I am. I’m moving further from my job to Bushwick so I’m going to probably bring it On the train more
Been taking my time with Travis Strikes Again, been having a lot of fun but I wish I knew where all the skill chips are
Also Smash and Splatoon and very casually making my way through XB2’s challenge arena
>pick up next
Maybe Yoshi if it’s a good and actually has some challenge
Maybe Dark Souls since I never finished the first one
Maybe FE3H if the gameplay and battles are half decent since I have no faith in the story
WHEN THE FUCK IS KING OF CARDS OUT?
Oh, nevermind then, I thought you were referring to other titles in the series.
What are you currently rolling in DMFD? I’m a pretty low level witch so I’m always around to try that out some more
It's been in my car for the last week, temperatures below zero at night, and I don't even care.
I play on handheld mode and didnt feel anything wrong.
In lets go there are "Master trainers" but they arent that good, every other game since Crystal had at least a Battle tower to look forward.
Now, online battles can be hard, but lest go metagame is just unbalanced, like, gf just didnt want competitive players on it.
I just want more turn based tactic games like xcom
ikaruga is on switch??
Yep
good shit ty
played with 8 people in smash with this including a mix of pro controllers, joycons and 8bitdos and there's no input lag even on outdated firmwares
Playing:
odyssey
Thinking about picking up:
marrio rabbids gold
hollow knight
rain world
Waiting on:
luigis mansion
paper mario
animal crossing
pokemon
zelda
>copy of girls und panzer port finally arrives today
>online is dead
damn I mean the story mode is worth the price but I was hoping the online would at least have enough people for a match
Gimme some recommendations. I have a 400gb micro sd card and a hacked Switch.
IS the $20 online pass worth it yet?
What are the 2019 games you guys are getting day one? Mine:
>Animals Crossing
>Pokemon
>Link's Awakening
Should I get this digitally or physically?
Pripara All Idol Perfect Stage, Gesshizu: Gajigaji Nakama wo Sodateyou, and Diablo III.
Ready for DOA and thinking of getting Doom
>Digimon Survive
>Pokemon
>FFXII
>Silksong
And maybe FE, maybe the plot and character sucks, but the gameplay must stay the same, r-right?
Cool, thanks. Is the d-pad any better than the pro controller or about the same?
Picking up pic related next. I don't really play MK8D much anymore and prefer the Sonic racers anyways. Haven't been playing anything new yet but probably going to play the LEGO game I got for Christmas pretty soon
So content heavy it's not even funny
The answer is always physical, while we still can.
Astral Chain
Mario Maker 2
Doom Eternal
Links Awakening
Pokemon Sword
the early model sn30 pros (you can tell by the diagonal start and select buttons like a real snes controller) have issues with the dpads being over sensitive on the diagonals but the later revisions fixed this. If you end up getting an early revision by chance/accident you can always open it up, put electrical tape/hole reinforcer over the contact pads to fix the issue. Once you apply the fix/have a revised version it's better than the pro controller
Physical for sure.
For me, no. If they substantially improved the online library yes, but until then I'm keeping my shekels.
>playing
nothing at the moment, I will play Torna after Sekiro
>planning on getting
I am about to grab sonic mania plus, megaman legacy x 1 + 2, and tales of vesperia
Do you guys think they'll port any of the old Pokemon games to the switch? I see that they're available on the 3DS eshop but I don't want to buy another console just to play them.
Thanks. I'm going to order the SN30 Pro G edition since that seems to be the latest one.
thinking about picking one up this friday when I get paid, but I might just wait for super nep rpg
Is that chocobo mystery dungeongame any good?
want something to play but there doesnt seem to be anything until mario maker 2
I wouldn't count on it. The Switch is easily the best console to have a Virtual Console service so far so of course this is the gen where Nintendo decides to drop it.
Supposedly Deltarune isn't actually episodic and the whole game is releasing next.
just playan the usual SSBU online matches, some spirit board matches here and there.
just picked up Tales of Vesperia a week or two ago, never played it before so I guess I'm good the next month or so. ToV can get max comfy when playing in bed with the comforters on and a nice cup of coffee beside me.
I just bought Skyrim for the switch, I bet Todd is pleased. I wish they would port oblivion and Morrowind too. It's not like the switch couldn't run it
What can I do if my computer doesn’t have an SD card reader? Can I use my iphone or something to check
Just ordered my import for Umihara and I plan on buying the console and playing Breath of the Wild before my copy arrives.
Is Sky Force Reloaded fun for co-op?
Yes when both pilots are actually good, but it's far better to play in handheld mode.
I cannot stress enough how much it sucks you can't remap buttons to L & R.
I regret buying Smash. Online is such complete garbage.
We can only hope that the online gets updated when they finally update their stupid phone app. I'm pretty sure Smash U didn't launch with tournaments or custom rooms either.
You're gonna have a good time
Why is FF7 priced cheaper than 9? I would think the more popular title would be more.
Should i get mhgu or switch? I have it on 3ds, but it's jap version of xx with most of the text missing and most people are japs
Was enjoying hollow knight for maybe 15 hours. Giving it a break for a bit while i play pic related.
World of Light is it's saving grace for me. I tried online for a day or two and never touched it again.
just buy a card reader for like $2
I've had mine for 15 years, probably the best techology related investment
I don't understand why they released 9 before 7 either.
stick with 1v1 matches and it's a actually pretty ok. about 6/10 of the matches that I play feels like the other player is right beside me.
In the morning?
Thanks
Finally tried the Daemon X Machina demo. It’s fun. There aren’t enough giant robot games.
I want to play that blind prince game, but I also keep looking at IntiCreates stuff, and bloodstained is coming out, and I still haven't gotten xenoblade 2.
So all in all it's been a lot of shopping paralysis and fire emblem heroes.
My favorite thing to do is play at night in bed while listening to podcasts. Especially comfy games like Stardew, Pokemon, Picross, etc. Doesn't get better.
Will there be a special one for pokemon sword?
Why did they release the prequels after the original trilogy. Checkmate
Play Chocobo's Dungeon 2 on PS1.
If you like that then you will definitely like this.
>What are you playing
WoFF Maxima
>picking up next?
Super Robot Wars T
Grindy, but definitely liked it back then. I spent almost a hundred hours on it I think.
>playing Smash Bros
>Civ 6 during work hours that are free( work as banker)
>FE
>Pokémon Shield
It’s a pretty good system that has shocked me with the portability
>playing Pokemon games after Gen 5
bump
There are players, but it's not as active as MHW.
Also, AFAIK you can't transfer your progress from 3DS MHXX to Switch MHGU.
>every release is the same just slightly better graphics
>"hurr x generation sucks y is best!"
I bet you are like one of those fags who say dark souls 2 is bad but praise 1 to death
Shut the fuck up, nigger.
I didn't play much, just killed valfalx, that's all.
I wish APE OUT’s music was better. It’s a solid game, but the soundtrack is so lackluster as it only goes to the advertised levels of crazy during the first “album” and the credits.
On the fence about buying Diablo 3, never played any of the games in the series
I played it on PC and it's good but the season shit made me drop it faster than a flaming turd
Don’t enable neo-Blizzard
Last one I bought was Mario odyssey...while I do appreciate the games art style and simplistic nature and I don't regret the purchase after awhile I lost interest. Tomorrows payday so I'm gonna get xenoblade chronicles 2 and see what thats about.
My lost copy of Travis Strikes Again finally showed up in the mail, right after I bought another copy a few weeks ago. I dont know whether to keep two copies for the sake of bragging or just trade one in for anything else.
>Grindy
Chocobo's Dungeon 2 isn't totally grindy because all you need to do is to get a saddle and claw, mix it with different equipment, and get the spell books and level your skill until its strongest spell. And besides, leveling up is so useless in this game because monsters with level down are pain in the ass.
>Tomorrows payday
Damn same here, probably going to buy a Switch again
Buy RemiLore instead. Diablo 3 is fun but online on Switch is dead.
Funny you mentioned Stardew. Been on the fence about it for the longest time and I really want to get it for the Switch. Only thing holding me back is I already spent a lot of time on it on my PC some time ago.
Play the Vita version. If you don't feel like playing it on Vita then it's not worth getting it on Switch.
Do it and make sure to get a copy of Skyrim while you're at it, can't go wrong with that!
Is Yu No on Switch ever coming out in English?
theres no postgame in lets go, play emerald, platinum, heartgold/soulsilver or black/white(2) instead
MHGU is good, however its the worst classic mh imo (still better than mhw)
online is kinda dead though
I'm only missing the VR version of Skyrim but I pirated it already.
Also I didn't mean another Switch. I got one around release for Zelda which was good but there was nothing interesting coming up. Now I kinda want to replay Zelda and there's a new Pokemon coming up so yeah.
Missed the part where I sold it after finishing Zelda.
>Playing:
>Zelda Botw
>MHGU
>Thinking about picking up:
>Mario Odyssey
>Hollow Knight
>Katamari
>Okami HD
>Bayonetta
>Waiting on:
>Final Fantasy 7
>MHGU
It's shit, this game is built for 3DS and MHGU is an extremely lazy port by Capcom. Just wait for another MH Switch.
Not playing anything on it right now, waiting for Fire Emblem. I checked that Daemon X Machina demo but didn't feel much so I don't think I'll do much with it until FE.
Princess Guide and Fate Extella Link
I just started playing dragon marked for death. I’ve been trying to learn the game on my own so it is a little confusing so far. It seems like co-op/multiplayer is basically necessary.
Did anyone else play/like it?
Out of all Switch games I had in my system, only Civ 6 and Smash Bros. managed to entertain me for over 50+ hour.
I play Metroid occasionally, and all I can say is fuck that game holy shit.
Be aware that Hollow Knight and Okami HD have some framerate issues on Switch. They're better on other platforms unless you really really want that portability.
Beat Danmaku Unlimited 3 today holy fuck that game is nuts in later stages.
>never got to the last two phases of the final boss before
>like no fucking lives left
Shit was fucking intense, my heart was racing for ages after that.
That's all I've played for a while, so maybe back to some Splatoon 2, or perhaps I'll try beating Ikaruga again. Considering picking up Dead Cells, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and perhaps importing the Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle, but I think I'm fine not buying anything new just yet.
Katamari and Bayonetta are real good user, I would highly reccomend both.
Cant find the link to kusoge on google, where is it?
It's very hard to play it solo, especially when you're on the part where you have to finish off 2 dragons that takes one dragon like over 5 minutes to kill. I say multiplayer is necessary if you don't want to spend 30 hours of grinding to level 50.
And it depends which class you're playing. I played as empress, the most OP class would be warrior.
Currently enjoying Dust: An Elysian Tail, Splatoon 2, Travis Strikes Again, and Voez. Next pickups will be Cytus Alpha and Astral Chain.
how does bayo perform on switch? haven't decided yet whether to play on pc or not
I'm more hyped for this year than last year only because Chocobo's Dungeon and DQ Builders 2 is getting released this year on Switch, but the wait is fucking killing me.
Only another reason to get hyped is because of Rune Factory 5 and that's it for me, but I'm pretty sure I'll spend over hundred of hours alone in DQ Builders 2 anyway.
thats a shame I thought hollow knight would be pretty comfy to play in bed
guess I'll play on pc then
It's great on switch, if you're hesitant then hold out for a sale, it's normally $15 but sometimes drops to $10. Perfect kind of game for chilling in bed.
If you can overlook framedrops and framepacing issues that's pretty much the only issues those games have on Switch.
Hollow Knight is great on Switch. There are framedrops but that barely affects your gameplay.
These switch threads are the only place on Yea Forums where anons aren't being insufferable contrarian edgelords. You guys are ok.
That's because Nintendo fans are actually mature and reasonable adults, unlike a certain other fanbase.
>silksong
>links awakening
>pokemon
I've played hallow knight and I never noticed any frame drops but I only played in handheld mode
>a certain other fanbase
Now you're doing it though. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
>Super Mario Maker 2
>Link's Awakening
>Team Sonic Racing
Anything else just depends on what's coming out in the latter half of the year
Seems fine to me, but I'm not the best person to ask for framerate comparisons as my PC has always been kinda ass, I've never heard any complaints though. Also gotta factor in the second game, if you're getting physical you get the first one anyway (digitally you get a discount on the other to make it add up to RRP).
I want to play that but feel like it's left wing pandering garbage.
Mario Maker 2 looks amazing but I don't want Nintendo Online. Hopefully it's usable without it.
I have been playing Hollow Knight. Its the most fun I have had with a game since 2016. The design of the world is great and so is your sense of progression. Every corner has something interesting waiting at the other end. Few games I can just sit and play for hours engrossed without a care in the world. This is one of them. I will probably re-play BotW since watching MM review got me itching to play again. Have not played the dlc content so it will be interesting.
I know the feeling, but after those games are out I'll have a good lineup of games to play online, so I'm likely going to get it anyways
I just bought this with the 35 dollar card, what should I buy other than Odyssey, Zelda, and smash?
Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends, and Sonic Mania Plus if you haven't played them. Maybe Kirby Star Allies
Use those 35 to get Mario + Rabbids Gold Edition on the eshop.
Playing - Aragami
Next get - Fate/Extella Link
Is tropical freeze as good as the original DKC2? I've heard lots of good stuff about it but I think it would be hard to top that
Don't know much about it, need to do some research
Rate.
How often do eshop game sales come around/change?
Daemon X Machina is trash
I never noticed any frame drops on Okami or Hollow Knight. Okami on Switch is a good choice because it supports motion control and touch control undocked.
Looks cool, I'll give it a buy
>exclusives
Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle (~70% off on eshop right now)
Into the Breach
Golf Story
Travis Strikes Back
Mario Party
Mario Tennis

Mario Bros U Deluxe
DKC Tropical Freeze
Sega Ages: Phantasy Star, Outrun, Thunder Force

Oh and Shovel Knight
I bought the Naruto trilogy abnd regretted it, only the third installment is competently playable and has decent voice acting
>Gunvolt
You my nigga.
>Bloodstained, Mania, Shovel Knight
Real good.
PPT ain't an exclusive my dude.
I recently got one and so far I only have Hallow Knight, South Park: Stick of Truth, and Warframe. I'm planning on buying more beefer games next month as well as a proper controller since I don't wanna wear the joycons out.
Y-yeah huh! No you're right, I put it in the wrong spot
I haven't played 2 to compare but Tropical Freeze was pure joy despite some frustrating moments sprinkled in. But overall a great platformer, one of my favorites.
Playing Smash, VC4 and Tales of Vesperia. Next will probably be FFCC.
Nintendo's NES service pisses me off more and more the more I think about it, and how they're basically scamming everyone who isn't or doesn't read Japanese.
There is no reason why their release schedule is this bad, or why they can't just release games weekly or get ride of a game for western audiences when it was supposed to be three everywhere.
Fuck if it weren't for Star Tropics, the west would've gotten ONE goddamn game this month on the fucking thing.
All this isn't even bringing up how everyone is tired of NES games. We get it, the NES saved gaming as a whole and birthed the industry's biggest icons, stop masturbating over it Nintendo
>Into the Breach
>Puyotet
>exclusives
>haven't played 2
You should really play the OG trilogy, some of the best platformers ever.
I definitely want to at some point. Might get them on my 2DS since I'm not buying anymore games for it
Have not posted in a comfy switch thread in a while, I've been hard at work unlocking characters in Super Bomberman R. I'm finally starting to git gud at this game. I've unlocked 49 out of 50 characters in this game, and it has been brutal but rewarding. It took me over 43,000 Gems to unlock all of those characters, and Pretty bomber ALONE will cost 30,000 to unlock. That's not even mentioning that in order to even be allowed to buy her at all, you have to beat every single world with a 3-star rating in Beginner difficulty. That doesn't sound so bad until you realize that getting a 3-star ranking in a given world means beating all 8 levels and both boss fights without using a SINGLE continue. I sucked bad at this game before attempting this, but after days and days of memorizing each level and the behaviors of each phase of each boss, I can now beat this game with my eyes closed. That being said, there are seperate 3-star rankings that ate recorded for the Beginner, Veteran and Expert difficulties, and I fully intend on getting 3 stars on every single world on every single difficulty. But wait, there's MORE! I did the math on how many gems you would need to buy every single stage and every single accessory in this game and it takes over WAN MIRRION GEMS to unlock of them. Yep, I'm gonna do that too. Wish me luck anons, my shitty carpal tunnels hands are gonna complete this game if it's the last thing I do. But first, Pretty Bomber. See you in the next thread!
At the very least we're getting SNES games soonish, but really it's a goddamn travesty how Nintendo's treating their legacy titles now
I just bought a switch, what are some must buys? I already own Smash, BOTW, and Bayonettas. Thinking about Mario Odyssey.
you got a source to back that up?
It's good that you can overlook them I guess. Switch hardware and the games played on them are the same for everybody though so these framerate issues are in your copies of the games too.
I'm thinking about picking up a New DS, how are you liking the 2? It's significantly cheaper and I don't care about the 3d effect at all. I just want it for old Pokemon games and the VC collection.
They usually update on Thursday noon EST. Some publishers start sales on other days. Sales last at least one week and you can see the end date in the game's eshop description.
I'm really liking MHGU but not everyone would like it.
I've never played a Bomberman game, considered picking this up. I'm not a completionist like you but it seems like a good time.
>Picross S2
But there's a better version of it.
Back in January dataminers found files that indicated SNES games were coming the NES app. Seems like they'd be ready to roll them out whenever. Here's a source and a list of what games they found
cnet.com
It's a shame that nearly none of the good RPGs for the SNES are on here but it's not a terrible list.
Not my thing but you do you brother
The game runs like fucking shit and the gameplay or visuals do not even come close to making up for it. It's trash, play damn near any other mech game instead.
>What are you playing
FFIX and Dead Cells. Still have my original Playstation copy of IX but I don't have anything to play it on at the moment.
>Picking up next?
I'm not sure. Everything I want the most (Metroid Prime and Bayonetta) is at NEVER EVER status and everything Nintendo has been putting out since the Switch's launch year besides Smash has been low effort shit.
Splatoon 2 is pretty good if you wanna fork over some shekels for online, and Xenboblade might be good but I'd read reviews for that one. Also check out some of the other Wii U ports.
>We get it, the NES saved gaming as a whole
Didn't even happen, PC gaming was doing perfectly fine. The most you can say is that they revived console gaming in North America, which was an objectively bad thing.
At least Breath of Fire 2 is there
This makes me want an official joycon with a real d pad even more
It's pretty nice despite how useless the "C stick" is for me. I have the Hylian Shield edition and it's going to become my designated 2D Zelda/VC machine now
MegaMan is so damn awesome. I'm just getting into the series and I just can't get enough.
But that can be worked on.
I dunno, how well are Marvelous games usually optimized? Isn't that Senran Kagura game a Marvelous game?
Is skyrim on the switch good? I've never played it before and I think I need to
>american """culture"""
It's mediocre.
Doom
I bought it during the sale last year and immediately regretted it. Even with mods it's bland at best
>western game
>worth playing
No.
Wonderful series, my favorite is X. Enjoy!
>these and Sekiro
Here's what I still want out the Switch:
>Better Eshop
>Game Folders, like what the fuck
>A Star Fox game
>A Mario RPG of some sort, literally nothing else will matter as long it's good
>Pikmin 4
>More of Nintendo's legacy titles. Some SNES and even N64 are probably coming to the online app eventually but I want 6th and 7th gen games too. A Pikmin collection, Prime Trilogy, Mario Galaxy 1+2, etc.
I've been playing MHGU my progress in story is going smooth but its hard to find rooms with anyone higher than Hr2 online rare occasions I see anyone 3 and up.
>WESTERN BAD
Hi NPC
I'm shilling Civilization 6. I can't believe how good it is for the Switch, I hope expansion pack gets released for it too.
KH3 was a massive letdown in basically every way possible. Did not even come close to justifying all the hype.
Is it viable to play MHGU without Nintendo Online?
This game is like crack for my vidya brain. I've always loved Bomberman, but for me the NES version and Pocket Bomberman were the pinnacle of the series, and nothing ever came close to them, especially Pocket. After Hudson Soft did the big die, I was convinced that we would never see another Bomberman game and I actually boycotted Konami. When Super Bomberman R was announced for the Switch, I was skeptical but extremely hyped at the prospect of a new game in the series. I went out of my way to buy it at full price even though I didn't have a switch just so I could support my bomber bro. Apparently the game had awful controls at launch, but shortly after a patch was released that fixed the control issue entirely, and eventually they even released a 60fps patch! I'm very lucky that it took me a year to get a Switch, because the version of Super Bomberman that I got is without a doubt my favorite in the entire series. I cannot believe how obsessed I am with this fucking game. I love Golem Bomber so much, and jesus christ that ending music video was the best ending I have seen for a video game in my entire life. Seriously, look at this shit (WARNING: Ending video may contain story spoilers)!

Holy FUCK that's a good theme, literally anime ending quality. I HIGHLY reccomend this dru- I mean game.
But Western games are the ones with SJW NPC propaganda in them. And before that they were mostly just shitty attempts at converting tabletop RPGs to video games, which never managed to be as good as just playing an actual tabletop game.
Yeah its still fun
>A Star Fox game
Just buy Starlink and pretend it's a Star Fox game like i'm gonna do when I get it
I'm a long time Civ player, started with 2, and can't imagine playing without a mouse and keyboard. But I'm open to the concept, wish there was a demo
To be honest, no. It has been collecting dust since Xenoblade 2 DLC.
I don't like fighting games so smash isn't an option either.
waiting till marvel ultimate alliance and assassins creed comes out for it.
Surprisingly I haven't gotten into the assassins creed series at all. Looks like my cup of tea
>pilotwings
>tfw making the perfect parachute landings
Gonna be honest here, you have me hyped not because I know anything about bomberman but because your enthusiasm is so thick in the air I could hammer a nail into it and hang a painting on it. I'm gonna check it out when it's on sale. Keep on keeping on.
If you played Civ Rev or Civ Rev 2 then you should have the full idea how it works.
There's already news for expansion pack being made for the Switch so I'm really excited for that.
Ace Attorney is great, you get to visit crime scenes and defend your clients. I've bought TWEWYR but have not started it yet.
That list isn't actually so great. There are definitely some gems but it's missing the majority of the 10/10 SNES games. Probably due to licensing issues. If I want portable retro classics the most viable route would still be to pick up a 3DS and get them from the VC or homebrew it.
The performance is bad, but the gameplay is fun.
Missed those, always played on PC. That's good news about the expansion because every Civ game is incomplete until a few expansions come out, that's just how they always do things
Is Ape Out worth the $15?
>Fate Extella Link
Muh brother.
>hear about all the drama that devs go through with Game Engines for big titles before they default to the latest Unreal Engine
Is there a reason not to use Unreal as your engine if you're trying to make a title of large or even modest size? What are its shortcomings? Is it super expensive? Does it come with a lot of legal baggage?
At this point they should just release civ leaders and Nerf some ridiculously powerful civs like Sumer or Australia
Honest answer? No. Mostly because of the mediocre variance in the soundtrack. There are only 4 full-length worlds/albums and one bonus level. Great gameplay and art design, but the limited levels and musical repertoire really hurts it.
Oh, and the levels are randomly generated, as are the enemies. So sometimes you might have runs where you're tiptoeing through the tulips with nary a foe and others where there's half a dozen dudes with machine guns and NO COVER.
At most, it's a 9.99 title, but if I could do it over, I wouldn't have parted with more than 5 bucks for it.
GTA LCS via Lakka.
Unreal 3 wasn't that good.
If you're making games for last gen consoles, unreal 4 is too bloated for their minuscule amount of RAM.
>There are only 4 full-length worlds/albums and one bonus level.
Darn. How long did it take you to beat the game? I might just have to buy it when it goes on sale.
Most people playing online are probably doing G rank quests in the other hub.
It might still be free on Xbox Live but I'm not sure. It's only 20 bucks on PSN at the moment, and theres a PC version as well. There are exclusive characters for each version, such as the co-op robots from Portal on the PC, Master Chief, Arbiter and Grunt from Halo for Xbox and Ratchet & Clank, Pipo Monkey from Ape Escape and that white cat Sony Japan mascot thing. The Switch version has Max from Bomberman Max on the GBA and it also has Ceasar Bomber from the Star Soldier series. Either way I paid 50 dollars for it at lauch and waited a whole year and it was STILL totally worth it!
Only have a switch, looks like it drops to $20 every now and then so I'll swoop in next time.
If you’re high enough, air dodge up and towards the stage first. Otherwise, mash Down B for a little boost. Then double jump and Up B.
Don’t always double jump when you get knocked off stage. If the opponent knows, they will chase you and hit you again.
Damn I guess I will look into some "turn" rooms and try to raise my hr.
Around that many hours, but that was only because I took my time with it. Although, like I said, with the levels being randomly generated, I breezed through some areas and kept dying in some others.
This is the dumbest post I've seen in a long time.
What a shame. It looked pretty good. Thanks user.
I think most people are underestimating how big Mario Maker 2 is going to be.
Anyone play remilore, how is it
I don't think anyone is underestimating numbers it's just that there isn't much reason to talk about it right now
Why would you wanna buy MM2 right out of the gate anyway?
Part of what made MM so enjoyable was playing everyone else's custom levels, so naturally you wait until there's plenty of worthwhile levels to try out
>not making your own
>blindly consuming, never creating
Beta
I just bought a switch with Pokemon Let's Go Eevee off someone I work with for 100 bucks. I've been playing Tetris 99 and having some fun with Pokemon. Any accessories you guys recommend that I buy?
It's mediocre at best.
>Not creating your own autistic masterpieces.
Do you even enjoy video games?
Liked car mechanic simulator on pc, wanted to pick it up on switch. Holy shit it is so watered down there isn’t even a progression system, no car driving, and you can’t even have a restoration project on the side because they start you off with enough money to do whatever
Not an argument. The "video game crash" primarily affected North America and it only had to do with the console market.
That's a hell of a deal. The only accessory I bought was a Pro Controller. Much comfier than the joycons, although I keep getting a stick drift issue that resolves when I blow air around the edges of the analog stick. Common thing I guess.
It's just a port of the mobile version, not the full blown CMS games you see on steam. I almost got tricked too. I'd love CMS18 on switch.
>this post is poorly thought out and of extremely low quality
>not an argument
No, it wasn't an argument. I wasn't arguing. I was stating a fact.
is final fantasy 9 worth starting rn for the first time at 1 am? only played the first one on wii...
Yeah I've been wanting a switch for a while and he was willing to let it go for dirt cheap, had to jump on it.
Play FF6 instead and stop supporting trash SE shits out
Go to sleep, start FF9 tomorrow.
I haven't had a chance to play it on Switch yet, but in general FF9 is great and one of the better FF games
But the port is so bad
Is it? I haven't seen it. If that's the case then don't get it.
19 years of being salty is long enough user
Should I get a switch if I only care for 5 games total
>Smash
>BoTW
>Odyssey
>Pokemon shield
>diablo 3
Im playing Hyrule Warriors until DMC5 comes out. I'm also planning on getting Dark Souls Remastered for the switch pretty soon, thought it would be neat to play it portable.
Your "fact" is simply incorrect. Amerifats becoming wary of buying consoles =/= the entire vidya industry being threatened.
enjoy leveling up fren
Sure. People have bought systems with less
>arcade was all time high, even it dropped 1/2
>1982-4 was a dark time for non-arcade gaming
>b-but your facts are not as good as my opinions
No honey, facts don't care about your feelings
OH YEAH EVERYONE REMEMBERS THE ATARI 1200XL OR THE MATEL AQUARIUS OR THE COLECO ADAM
WHAT A GOLDEN ERA FOR HOME COMPUTING HAHAHA
No fuck off
Absolutely. I'm 120 hours into BotW and could sink another 100 in no sweat. I'm 60 hours into Smash and only have 800 spirits of the 1300. Pokemon games can swallow unbelievable amounts of hours if you want to 100% them. Probably the only game on that list you'll get through quickly is Odyssey, and it's a masterpiece.
Do it.
>arcade game crash of 1984 didn't ACTUALLY happen
Imagine being this retarded
soon the masses will realize why pc gaming is superior and cheaper in literally every way.
Well I played BoTW on cemu ages ago, but now I can't re download it thanks to nintendo cracking down on emulators. I miss the fucking around with the environment physics. But is Diablo 3 always online?
Oh it's bait. Nvm
I'm a PC + Nintendo believer. Exclusives on the console, multiplats on the PC. Covers all the bases I want to cover.
5 is more than what most ask to convince them to buy a console so yes.
Nobody's saying it didn't happen. What you're being educated on is the fact that it was a North American thing and it only really affected home consoles in a way that could have had lasting effects. And, by the way, if console gaming was in fact destroyed, the gaming industry would be in a much better state today.
>Windows 10
>superior
>cheaper
Wew lad
>at least
PFFFFFFFFFFFFF
>it was a [BIGGEST FUCKING MARKET] thing
You are retarded.
Europe was happily busy with the C64 while burgerfats were panicking over Atari going under
>Europe was happily busy with the C64
Eh the peak C64 sales (2-3m a year) were 84-86 after the NES had saved the industry
>one of the best selling games on the C64 in 1983 was Jumpman
Oh no, no no no no *WHEEZE*

>What Didn’t Crash?
>The answer to this question is simple – things which didn’t crash with the American console and arcade market were the things outside of the American console and arcade market. For example, there’s a reason why Nintendo was even able to bring the NES to America and it’s a very simple one: from the start, Famicom was a huge success in its home country and it didn’t even need to pretend not to be a console – porting popular arcade games was enough (although they did release some edutainment games to make it seem the console was for more than just having fun). As the gaming market wasn’t so globalized in the 1980s, the industry in Japan was different from the industry in the United States and the problems which plagued American market were mostly unheard of in Asia.
>In the North America, consoles and arcades suffered but it’s important to remember that console and arcades were not the only things American gamers had access to. During the years of the console crash, computer gaming lived on. Two of the biggest 1980s RPG series, Ultima and Wizardry, got new installments in 1983 while a little company known as Electronic Arts released many inventive strategy games a few years before its inevitable descent into villainy.
>It’s also worth noting that there were many places were the consoles didn’t really take off and most of gamers didn’t care about them failing. In the United Kingdom, early 1980s were the years of cheap microcomputers like Dragon32, BBC Micro, and the ZX Spectrum.
>The crash of 1983 mostly impacted a certain segment of a market in a certain region. While the impact was big and destructive and both segment and region were large, important and profitable, the fact that it wasn’t the whole gaming industry is worth remembering.
can somebody buy me megaman 11 or the mmx collection pwease. :3
Fuck off nigger.
>cheap microcomputers like Dragon32, BBC Micro, and the ZX Spectrum.
Looking at the sales of these its more like they were born into the creash
Rented Bayonetta 2 from the library. Never played the first one, really enjoying it so far.
Sup niggers sony always wins baby.
I plan to pick up a switch out of pity to give your faggot company a sale before it rots away, so when is the best time to get a good deal on it?
Do the games go on sale often or is Nintendo still using their jew no price reduction tactics.
whats better FF9 or south park fractured buttwhole. strictly gameplay wise.
...
Fuck off eurotard. C64 and Apple 2 are absolute shit in comparison. Don't even get me started on your precious speccy
>Because as bad as it got, gaming as a whole wasn’t in danger of dying – just in danger of becoming a niche hobby for computer enthusiasts that is somehow also big in Japan.
Reminder that if the """crash""" was left alone we'd have a comfy niche hobby with quality games free of normie/SJW influence. No shitty AAA devs churning out yearly installments. Thanks for courting the lowest common denominator and attracting pearl-cluthcing suburban leftists to video games, Nintendo.
nope switch version has a offline mode as well as online
