i'm a fan of both series, but in all honesty, the wrong franchise won. just imagine the type of kino digimon would be making if they were the ones with $90 billion in revenue instead.

you can't possibly compare the pokemon theme song to a masterpiece like butterfly.
digimon has pokemon beat in the music department over all, i think. pokemon has some great music too, but nothing compares to butterfly, black intruder, file city night, etc.

It's not that the wrong franchise won, it's that Pokemon has made a monopoly of the genre, and anything else even somewhat resembling a monster collecting game gets labeled as a clone or a ripoff. People can't seem to comprehend that competition is an actual good thing, especially when it comes to video games. Game Freak is getting away with making unimpressive games with less and less content because people still buy it in droves.
