Faris end was super spooky because nobody other than Okabe would make the Divergence meter look so fucking stupid.
Also for it to be in the lab it requires him to have built a time machine so Suzuha could put it in the house so he at least befriends either Daru or Kurisu again (or Maho I guess).
Who knows what happens in that future though? Could be apocalypse or could be Okabe tying up loose ends.

The game doesn't really stress the point, but Okabe mentions he's jumped countless time to try to save Mayuri outside of the moments shown. He came to the conclusion that fate will force someone's death, no matter what. He never realizes that the only thing that matters is perspective until 0's Okabe sends him the D-mail from the far future.

The whole 'Kurisu doesnt need to die' thing was just an asspull to sate waifufags. Work under the assumption that her death was inevitable. Okabe destroys the document, so Nakabichy doesnt get to publish it, no time travel experiments begin, future is saved, done. Everybody lives in a war free world, Suzuha's experiment is a success, Mayuri is spared. Kurisu living for a perfect happy ending just cheapens the whole thing

I get what you're saying, but the last part was only possible because future Okabe insisted that there was an ideal worldline where everyone would survive and there was no threat of SERN or WWIII. Out of every possible worldline, future Okabe decided that one of the possibilities had to give him and his friends a peaceful future, so he'd work his ass off so his past self could reach it.
