A few things. I would hope.
More involved. A thing such a new features. A "community garden" which can grow various fruits and veggies which can be used for cooking. Certain animals will have favored foods that increase your friendship with them. While having least favorite foods might pressure them into leaving.
Choose what type of town you can live in. Country or more suburban. Let me place fucking roads.
Better grass deterioration / growth.

Dating sim elements sound cute in theory, butit would force me to think too much about how your character is the only "human" selecting from a pool of animals to date. If you could play as an animal I'd like the idea more.

Fear of the Devs removing features. The AC devs are not known for removing many features from what I've seen. But theres always a chance.
One of my hopes are bringing back the hilly terrains. New Leaf looked a bit flat. Also the many aspects from the previous games that were left behind would also be great to return.
