What are some cool ways to traverse an open world?

What are some cool ways to traverse an open world?
Cars are for the most part boring.
Horses like in Shadow of the collosus are sick
Hangliders like in breath of the wild are sick
maybe a boat system could be cool?
I like the idea of a deep rock climbing system thats heavy around resource management.
Maybe the ability to jump very high?
maybe the ability to bend the earth around you to move you quicker?

what are some of your favorite examples? or ideas that you have?

that video cringes me out
but parkour in video games is fun af

Lunar mode in Gravity Rush 2 is the most fun I've had moving around

>Lunar mode in Gravity Rush 2
whats different in lunar mode?

In America that’s a single serving size.

gravity is like the moon

That's not even America

I’ve had the most fun with movement in a game with Cube World because I got to discover some tech myself before anyone really knew anything.
>mfw discovering you could use the Rogue class’ dash to gain shit tons of momentum and bhop around
>mfw discovering the momentum remained even while hang gliding or riding boats
>my friends face when I screamed WATCH ME SWOOCE RIGHT IN at the top of my lungs while flying past him at mach 5

oh hell yea cube world was fun as fuck to explore around in
it was like breath of the wild traversal before breath of the wild

that's a big bag

The paraglider in BotW makes the game worse.

Basically in 2 you learn the ability to switch styles on the fly.
Jupiter makes you FAT and Lunar lets you hop building to building like you're 15 pounds.

The hang glider was my shit in Cube World and I loved the one in BotW.
TF2 also has amazing movement, I have 3.6k hours and I still have more things I can learn in it.

none
open world is for retards

your an idiot if you think the key to games is linearity in regards to the world
just because most open worlds are shit filled skinner sandboxes doesnt mean there arent good ones, and that there can never be a good one

Why

JC3 Jetpack, wingsuit, parachute and grappling hook are the peak of open world travel.

a car that works like rocket league cars would be real fun.

I love building my own vehicles to get around in- space engineers, terratech, scrap mechanic, etc.

I liked the movement in prototype.

just cause 3 is pretty fun to get around.

Skate games, but thats the game itself.

Rollerblades or a skateboard

I could see it being really fun, if done right. You got alot of freeform movement, and speed

but every skating game i play feels ultra fucking stiff

I always liked the free running in Assassin's Creed. Felt great once you started to learn the best routes across rooftops and were practically flying though the cities.

What would yall say about okami?
Its pretty minimal, but its way more fun to run in that game that most games
