>PC gaming is cheap
>$600 on parts (still weaker than Xbox One X)
>$350 KB/M & controller
>$60 Steam subscription
So $1010 just to play free Chinese games and console ports with the number of mods being at a record low? Actually pathetic.
PC gaming is cheap

it aint cheap

Top tier bait
you're forgetting
>$100/mo in loot crate subscriptions
being a gamer is tough..
How can a 600 dollaridoo pc be weaker than a shitty fx CPU at 2ghz with a 480?
You can get 2600 + b450 + 16gb and 1660ti for that price
epic thread op
>$60 Steam subscription
You're gonna have to bait harder than that.
PC
>double-click shortcut

Console
>go to store
>buy expensive 500 dollar shitty console
>drive home
>unwrap it all, digging through a bunch of cables and peripherals i dont need
>find out which cable goes where
>launch the console
>forced to set a bunch of settings
>download firmware update for 1 hour
>finally i can play
>open package
>put disc in
>2 hour long update
>cant play online unless i get jewed to pay 60 dollars a year for my own internet
>suck it up and pay it anyway
>try to play indie games but theyre shit and more expensive for some reason
>AAA games run like ass (stable 50 fps with dips, crisp 900p featuring dynamic resolytion)
>cant play any old games due to no backwards compatibility
>pay 10-20 dollars more for any AAA game
>no sales ever
>console becomes literally obsolete after a year
>have to buy upgraded "Pro" edition of console for the same price I bought the launch version for
>Pro version still can't get 1080p at consistent 60fps, and it offers checkerboarded fake 4K at unstable 30fps
>can't use any controller or KB+M, just the official controller or cheapo third-party knockoffs
>third-party "exclusives" end up just being timed exclusives that end up on PC eventually anyway
What is the point of console gaming?
>No pop tarts
I used to think this way about consoles but I've been using my roommates PS4 and it's actually pretty tight. When you put it in rest mode you can pick up RIGHT where you left off.
Basically you turn on your tv and grab the remote and you're already back in, faster than my pc.
>$350 KB/M & controller
the fuck kinda shit you using? things designed by snoop dogg?
>steam subscription
t. talking out of your ass, but I'll bite.
>PS4 MSRP is $300.
>Montly subscription is $10.
>Expected lifetime of the product from start to finish is 6-8 years.
>buying subscriptions month to month costs $720-$960, + console = $1020 to $1260
>Need to get games too. A fair estimate is a new game every 6 months. Average price is $80.
>$80 * 2 = $160 * 6 = $960, to $160 * 8 = $1,280
>A console costs, throughout its lifetime, at least $1,980 and at most $2,540... assuming you BYO tv, never buy replacement controllers or hardware, and only buy one full priced game every 6 months with no dlc and always buy monthly subscriptions.
>This price will go up if you buy replacement or spare controllers, if you buy dlc, the price will go down if u buy yearly subs.
except you turn on your ps4 and
>game needs update
>system needs update
>PSN is down
>you need to pay your PS Plus subscription
>game takes 10 years to download from sony's dogshit servers
vs
download game iso
install
double click shortcut
play
These stats are similar to Xbox and Nintendo, and mind you sales are rare for games on consoles and when they do occur, they arent very big. Lets look at PC gaming.
>pcpartpicker.com
>$1,020 for this build alone
>This build should last 6-8 years in my experience, meaning budget wise we are still between $960 and $1,520 ahead.
>Still assuming BYO display as we assumed that in the console breakdown
>No online subscription required
>Average price of games varies between $40-60
>1 game every 6 months at that price costs between $480 and $960.
>we are still between $480 and $560 ahead.
>sales are very frequent on pc and sometimes go as high as 70% on major titles, this impacts the cost of the platform in the long run.
At the end of the lifetime of the two products, PC will cost you less than a Playstation 4. On top of that, PC has a far more competitive market, and theres more money to be saved down the track by reusing old parts when you upgrade, as well as backwards compatibility. Consoles strive to be as anti-competitive as they can be, and maintain their relativity through exclusive titles and a deathgrip on their studios.
On the surface, a console looks cheaper, but when you do the math, PC costs you less.
Also...
>chinese games
>console ports
>mods at a record low
Yeah our mods are at a record low. I'm sorry how many mods does your console have? I couldn't hear you over the sound of microsoft banning you for modding your console.
>$600 on parts
>$350 KB/M & controlle
>$60 """"""""""""""""""""Steam subscription"""""""""""""" whatever the fuck that is supposed to mean
i know this is bait but holy shit this is so fucking dumb, have a (you) for the effort tho
There are plenty of 70% off sales on psn. And plenty of shitty $5 indie games.
>all games are free
You can't beat that
>$350 KB/M & controller
I know this is bait but does anyone actually spend this much money on a mouse and key board
Don't forget $200 a month for streamer donations.
Yea, PC master race does.
>game updates
Are you such a brainlet you don’t know how to use rest mode?
Also there’s no reason for game downloads to take that long unless you have shit tier internet.
No he's not, this is Yea Forums. There is no high bar for effective bait.
Every post is bait, even yours. Even mine.
you can buy an above-average keyboard and mouse for like 80 dollars, buying anything more is simply enthusiast tier
>neo-frogposter
>is a poorfag
>also bad at baiting
why im not surprised
Depends where you live Pc gaming in leaf land is way more expensive than in burgertown. I don’t know about refugee city.
Gaming sucks. Period.

Fuck, gaming sucks
>People acting like they don't full well know people spend $300 in KB/M
Sounds like your problem isn’t gaming, but being poor. Have you considered moving to another part of the country for cheaper rent and a job that still pays well?
>the average new age pc gamer
>$350 KBM
dude I got a Topre Realforce and a Logitech MX for less what the fuck did you buy
