It's really not bad as far as PvE is concerned, people were mainly buttmad about the poise fuckery that made the pvp meta incredibly stale. This problem persisted into DS3, but by then everyone had stopped caring about PvP quality.

Poise makes all enemies a bosses a fucking joke. You should not be able to face tank the final boss and chug estus through most of his attacks. PVP has nothing to do with it, retard.

Power stance, dual wielding in general, fashion, rolling, weapon infusion, splitting stamina and equip load to two different stats, poise, parry being available to most weapon types while two handing, bonfire aesthetics, extra enemies in NG+, and pyromancy relying on stats are all good things.
