to be frank, it's pretty obvious Apex has already peaked. I could see it sustaining decent popularity as "the better overwatch" if they plan for the future correctly. Updates are just coming too slow. which is good for game balance and stability but horrible for general interest in the game. curious to see what they'll do but it's EA so it'll probably just slowly fade away

precisely, epic know exactly what they're doing. the free battlepass in addition to all the new things season 8 brought has shot interest in fortnite back up. Frankly I don't think EA is willing or able to keep up but faster updates would at least keep players on Apex

It's better on console, and I'm okay with some weapons being stinkers in a BR game, but there areiterally
1,2,4, and 5 squad drops would be great. The heroes alter the dynamic so mildly until you get into meta stuff that I thank any of them could work.

This is 100% false, lobbies haven't suddenly boomed around the world for TF2 thanks to Apex, maybe some countries have pop available for 4 min search matches but everywhere else is dead. EA wanta to generate new revenue, a sub game mode that they can easily program up and if it bites allows them customisation out their fucking ass for mech parts. The problem is it would have to be a game type of its own.
I started playing this last night, and I read that you have a limited number of loot boxes you can unlock. That kind of is disappointing.

Game will still have players come back to it even if it updates slowly because it's just flat out better than any other BR. Doesn't have the jank of PUBG, the TTK isn't padded by annoying building spam as in Fortnite.

Quarantine, white eyes for a white skinsuit, stands out as a legendary choice. I also wouldn't purchase anything that feels easily redundant, although all legendary items will eventually with their rotation. Lots of characters their purple is way better though, so like someone said don't go retarded with skins and cash shop. Golden mirages and rusty wraiths scream moneybags to me.
