Playing 5 for the first time now, played 4 right before 7's release, but this HD port is great. Just finished the Journey Home, literally tears streaming down my face. You guys didn't tell me this game was gonna be absolute kino.

Emmeria, but generally it's just because we never see most the other nations. No idea what's going on in Sotoa or Verusa, Nordennavic is just there and supposed to be important, and most of the smaller nations from Zero only got screentime in the form of ace pilots. Assuming they got any at all, of course.

How would you guys improve the formula, following up from 7? I'm a newbie to the series but it seems like a lot of people would like branching paths back.

I would really appreciate meaningful difficulty settings, I was incredibly let down by Hard and Ace (played through a couple missions on normal and quickly realized that it was a mistake, went to hard and it was still way too easy).

I think a co-op mode with its own campaign would be incredibly wise as well.

The problem with all of those things is that they cost money and Ace Combat has a very small budget. Maybe we can get branching paths back with the next AC now that 7 was so successful.

How do I git gud at AC? I played 4 & 5 years ago and just picked up 7 but even on normal I'm fucking terrible at it. I can't aim my guns for shit so I'm just relying on missile spam for every fight.

I feel like the answer is expanding the singleplayer content, as the pool for multiplayer in AC is already quite small and player preference will mean you often can't use what you want to use.

I don't use my guns for almost anything at all, lining up missiles teaches you how to properly tail fools to get some machine gun fire in there anyways.
Just get used to moving around cleanly, that alone will make you feel like an ace and everything else will flow from there.

Yeah the codex is the only thing not fully done I think. There's supposed to be an update in the future to finish it but I wouldn't really hold my breath, we waited this long for the rest of the game to get translated.

JA kinda sucks but X is definitely worth a play

Maybe I'll try JA if I get really hooked on AC:X, looking at the gameplay the movement seems really "floaty" and the enemy aircraft scale and movement seems wack.
Might get a used PS2 and try the other ones I heard good things about them. AC7 was my first ace combat game and holy shit I enjoyed it so much.

can I do MG run only on easy/normal and still get the achievement?

It was so disappointing to see 7 do the same thing with the Arsenal Bird as 5 did with the Arkbird. I get that Ace Combat needs a cool airship for you to fight but did it have to be a cool one that was taken over by the enemy?

It just felt wrong to fight and shoot down air ships named Liberty and Justice.

I did mine on normal. Remember to use the fishbed with MGPs so you don't want to kill yourself as much.
