Civ 6

Is it good now? Do I need the first expansion to play with the second?

You only need the second expansion to play with the Civs released with it.

GS is a lot more fun than the base game, people will still complain about the AI but Civ games never had good AI to begin with.

It's more or less on par with civ4 and you only need the second expansion. You will miss out on the wonders and leaders but the mechanics are included.

Kill yourself OP, nobody cares about this SJW trash.

Did they remove that spyware or whatever that program was?

red shell, yes

Good to know. Maybe I'll pick it up when it's in a bundle and on sale.

The AI in VI is particularly egregious because of the feature creep and poor quality control

It was good with the last expansion, people who say Civ 5 is better are just shitposters.

wow, great start

It's still very underwhelming since they gutted some of the basic mechanics from older games. Building tall is never viable, AI is garbo even for Civ standards, wonders being tile improvements is just fucked and early warmonger civs can zerg anyone for free since there's no real counterplay to early aggression.

the tall meme is the worst thing to come from civ 5

Don't you have waifus to post?

>SJW

lmao ok mate

Is it cracked?
Is there a good torrent with the expansions?

Is there any reason for me to buy this if I'm still able to play and enjoy Civ V? It doesn't even really look any better.

Juat download piratebrowser and type civ6, same for every single game.

What is this image supposed to show?

Just because 5 did bad doesn't mean 6 did good. Happiness was a fucking shit mechanic that only existed to punish the player, but districts being the chief source of yields means every time you don't settle ten gorillion cities you're losing out and intrinsically in a worse spot than civs with more cities than you. And since higher difficulties give the AI free cities it's basically impossible to employ a strategy other than pumping out settlers until you fill all the space you can.

Are you trying to imply that she looks more like the producer lady than her actual portrait? Because if so, you might have autism.

Except tall is more than viable, you just have to plan ahead and have good adjacency bonuses and the right policy cards. Tall works fine, it's just not better than wide by default, and that's a good thing, this is a 4X game.
You just have to make tall work, people win on deity with one city.

>have good adjacency bonuses and the right policy cards

That's nice, but nothing you couldn't benefit from with more cities.

Well of course? Again, wide should by default be better, like it's always been. Of course 2 campuses will be better than one campus, I fail to see the issue here. Hell, in III, the default was having a trillion 1 pop cities. The point is, tall works like it's supposed to, it's harder but more than viable, you just have to make it work.

it's a 4X game, of course having more should be optimal

Can you give some examples of the policy cards that make tall viable? Also, being viable pretty much implies that it can measure up to building wide, which it doesn't, not just that it can be used to beat the mouthbreathing AI.

Expansion is only one of the 4 X's

And another is exploit, which you can't do much of with 1% of the map

Exploiting other players does not necessarily demand expansion.

What I'm really trying to tell you is that "lmao just spam settlers" shouldn't be the norm in a game that's supposed to have multiple varying playstyles. It'll end up like playing Yang in SMAC which just ruins the whole game.

Yes it can, as I said people manage to win with one city on deity and I regularly win with 5-6 cities on emperor/immortal. Proper tall play requires very careful district placement, the right wonders for your victory type, properly slotted governors, good use of terrain, the best possible adjacencies, trade alliances with the AI, high population, good religion beliefs, pecialists, the right governments, and policy cards like those that increase yielss based on population, those that give holy sites culture yields for exemple, and those that double your adjacency bonuses. Again, you have to make it work yourself, you can't just plop 4 cities and expect it to be better than 50 cities in a 4x game, but with all the mentionned things you can compensate, and that applies to all victory conditions.

fucking based

But winning with a mix of perfect planning and luck doesn't make winning "viable". It makes it "possible".

I took it more to mean the exploitation of natural resources, but you really don't have to spam settlers at all, pic related is from my last Germany game in R&F and I was easily the most powerful civ even though I'd only founded 5 cities and spent most of the game with only a couple more that I'd conquered/flipped.

>turn 1070
what the fuck

Opinion is still divided so you prolly want to wait for more patches, or mods.

I play very long games

Civ 6 optimum empire settle size is about 10 cities, but more or less cities are viable because the game is challenging enough that you have to play optimally

isn't challenging, I meant to say

I regularly win with 5-6 cities on emperor aswell, you really don't need careful planning on that difficulty, i can assure you. Just not place them brain dead, but you certainly don't need to think hard either.

is the strategy with germany still "settle every available tile"?

I hope the next civ game doesn't look like fucking clash of clans, the art style kind of ruined civ 6 for me.

There are disadvantages to settling. Settler costs scale, builder costs scale, and a city requires chopping/improving/districts and buildings before it becomes a useful city. On average you can get about 8-10 cities out before it starts to not be worth it, those extra cities won't be developed enough to be useful before the game ends

Ideally you need 6 with 6 governors.
More is just icing on the cake.
Even with bad terrain you can still make it work. Compare a +0 campus with all the building to a +6 campus with all the buildings, specialists, science multiplier wonder, and science policies. One good campus can be worth 4 or 5 shitty campuses.
They even buffed governors to make it even easier, Pingala gives 1 science per citizen, now place it in a 40 pop inca city with a monster campus, boom, your city is worth 10 shitty ones. Tall should be a challenge, not the default best choice. Like it always was in a civ or a 4x game.

It's been a while but I remember Germany being able to mitigate it somewhat with hansa and overlapping industry bonuses on top of being able to shit out 2 districts per shitty city

Governors don't mean much, the religious/military/diplomatic governor might not even be worth getting depending on your game
Cities exist to produce tourism/science/production/faith to contribute to your victory condition

If you unironically think civ6 looks like clash of clan, you either never saw civ6 or clash of clan, or both. The absurd level of detail and polycount make it look AAA as fuck.

This, if I want to play a mobile game I'd play a mobile game.

district bonuses don't stack anymore
germany isn't OP anymore because adjacency bonuses are much less important than vanilla

I suggest you take a careful look at their promotions, governors are vital and crazy op. But again, you have to take advantage of them, if you just place them at random and get promotions at random, then yeah, they are worthless.

Its pretty much on par with Civ 4 now.

Really damn good.
I started a World War, it was pretty based.

>tfw you feel bad about a civ getting gangbanged, fly to her rescue and become best friends for life, 2vs the world

I mean just having a governor in a city doesn't mean much

That's what I am saying, if you place a governor just for the sake of placing him, might as well not bother at all.

A lot of them have pretty meh promotions with maybe one great but often not vital ability if you're bothered to invest in it (purchasable districts, double envoys). I've never needed the military one.

I hate how specific all this shit is. If I want to settle inland as Carthage I'm basically playing a civ with no UU, UA or LA.

Nah the worst ones are religious civs with no bonus to getting a religion

>Frederick Barbarossa SEETHING that I'm sending trade routes to the 3 city-states acting as buffer zones to my nation

Attached: 1542681067752.jpg (500x381, 34K)

Speaking of city states
>allies attacking your city states
>can't tell them to fuck off

no real choice but to physically block them off

You get grievances against them now for attacking your city states. Don't know if it's enough to let you to war scott-free though.

Ah, I didn't read the allies part, ignore that.

No
It said allies you retard wow

I had this happen to me with Poland, she betrayed our alliance with a surprise war and I got a war-monger penalty for taking one of her cities.

>this dumbass gets all angry for me razing his cities to the ground for sneaky sneak attacking my friend Tomyris
don't do that shit you snake

can anyone stop Cyrus early~mid game?

it's more like "Canada is all cities in tundra still being crab but a bit more viable though Russia's probably better"

It's pretty fun and an improvement over V on all fronts if you ask me. even the artstyle grew on me

crap*

Where can I get this shit for cheap?

Best part of the game

your local piracy store

Generally war is better than settling, however the game is basically have the most cities to win. Once you take a decent lead in city count, no one will ever catch up.
