There are some other complaints about the overall visual style, not being as dark as we're used to with Fromsoft, but that's because they are holding on to the darker tones so taht they make a bigger imapct on us once we reach those points. They have been hinting at those since the begining tho but really subtly, like the centipede guy in the first trailer (guy looks straight out of kuon) and the headless enemy in the demo. It's all hinting at a darker udnertone

Miyazaki and team A have yet to put out a game that's not a 9-10/10 and half of /v is raging over stupid tacked mp systems and letting go of RPG elements in favor of a way deeper combat on the player side (while previously all depth came from the enemy variety and we were stuck with the same moves for the duration of the game)
They are working on another ARPG with mp, it's a given and they know their audience
but I assure you none will want to go back to the classic souls combat style after playing this

Also in terms of enemies, most of what we have seen is refular humans so it emphasizes that same earthly, not very magical feeling but I think this is all on purpose so that the slow switch has a bigger effect on us
miyazaki talked about how he wanted this game to represent a beautiful decay, the transition from something that's pristine to a darker dying self. It would make a lot of sense for these initial levels to look the way they do

you surely realize these are basically just damage output with varying ranges and not readily avaliable while in combat right? as in, you cant switch to a ton of weapon types on the go while fighting a boss so pretty limited. On the other hand in sekiro we have a growing array of moves we can use on the go on each encounter so it already is more reactive than souls

all im mentioning is combat related whereas in souls you were stuck with using one weapon/2 at a time and it's 3-4 moves for the duration of the entire game. your defense options were limited to blocking, dashing and moving out of the way

again, sekiro is way way more reactive than souls and we have a ton of more options to use on the go. In past games we had dash+block+move+3 diff attacks from equiped weapon and variety came from enemy design, on the other hand here we're given so much more freedom to be creative on the go
