It's quite the opposite. Zoomers usually have a surface level of pop culture due to seeing something from their favourite "influencer" and rushing to wikipedia to learn the entire history of whatever dumb bullshit that they bandwagon on.
That said, it's pretty unhealthy to be pessimistic over these sorts of things. I used to be friends with someone that would chide me because my enthusiasm for something (movie, book) wasn't real, because I wasn't a true fan or "wasn't alive when it was a thing". Basically a form of ultra-gatekeeping

I never played Live and Reloaded, the shift in art style was too jarring and I never had an Xbox anyway. I bet Spooky was pretty fucked with those graphics, though.

I can confirm. Spooky on the Box was a step up. Most of the game was visually better, but lacking certain qualities, but Spooky was just 100% better.

The way they played the Alien parody completely straight is really jaring. The Panther King is choking to death for half the cutscene and Conker's reaction is pretty spot on.
Funny enough in L&R they made it blue just so they wouldn't get sued.

My biggest complain with L&R is that characters aren't as expressive and models have some weird shit going on (Conker's jaw gets stuck open or goes into his neck, Conker's whole body still being visible when transforming into the anvil or bat). Also the audio mixing is kind of shit. You can barely hear the music in Windy for example.
