This tends to happen around the end of each console generation. Consoles, at the end of their lifespans, seem to end up having a few titles that really take advantage of the hardware architecture.
There's also the issue with the console market being disproportionate to PC earnings, so a lot of devs primarily will design a game with console specs in mind with a few PC-specific afterthoughts thrown in for the port. There's so few AAA PC-only titles made these days which take full advantage of high-end rigs. Game devs know doing such a thing REALLY limits their potential player-base and sales. It's a shame, really.

Not only are you screaming "muh graphixx!!", but you're also once again dead wrong.
500 bucks gets you a great mid-tier PC capable of running any game out at the moment at 1080p/60fps/High settings, which is way above the upscaled 720p/30fps shit the baseline consoles do, and certainly a way more enjoyable experience than the checkerboard-rendered / interlaced 1200p with locked 30fps that the Pro/X versions provide, usually with low-med tier settings.
You can literally buy 300€ gaming laptops that perform better than the consoles.

game is pretty pricey, but I have lots of disposable income so I didn't buy on sale
I recommend you buy every DLC except the reserves, the base reserves are already huge enough you'll enjoy them AND you can play the reserves in multiplayer without owning them so
the game also has an EXP/skill/perk progression system which gates stronger guns and hunting abilities which people take for granted - you can easily bypass this with googling exp hacks or even cheat engineing it yourself but that's your morality at cost
the default .243 can hunt blacktail, whitetail, roe and fallow decently anyways, avoid elk, moose, bears
the shotgun/duck DLC is super ez to farm exp though if you get the hang of it, it's also fun for duck shooting in general
