Smash is more of party battle royale than fighting. It feels very unprecise for a fighting game.
It's not your thing, they are still very good.
Tekken is objectively the best fighting game. I also really like street fighter ex/fighting layer games, the music is good.
Dead or alive and soul calibur are also good, probably there also are some hidden gem fightings games that no ones knows, but whatever.
Does FightCade have a decent online population? Only experience I've had with netplay is Melee.

This smash game sounds like shit and given that it's nintendoshit, it likely is.
smash is fun to play with friends because of how easy it is for everyone to get into
but it's not nearly as exciting or intense as fighting games, and smash players don't know this as they refuse to learn them
