Unless you have DC fodder, he'll be slightly worse during EP but he can still be good and doesn't have to rely on ploys, schools or panic mansions as much. But what I said earlier with Surtr and others would be better for AR defence.

That is a problem as she needs that to get AoE specials quickly. She can still get her first AoE ready but she'll struggle to get more out. Aversa is a good option to make positioning harder for players due to her Aversa's Night, but she's not exactly the best mage nukes you have. Ishtar, Lilina and good ol Reinhardt are good candidates for mage nukes that are consistently powerful without Special spiral. Also the reason why I'm jealous is because of that brave Ephraim, Azura, Micaiah and Veronica I don't have.

They stack since the point of stance skills is to always give you a boost when the enemy attacks. So if the enemy attacks with a ranged weapon Distant Defense will activate for +6 def/res, then Sturdy Stance will activate too for +4Atk/+10 Def/+6 Res

Stuff like Close Defense and Distant Defense wont't stack together since they have different activation conditions
