Pistol already does a pretty good amount of damage that I think a lot of people don't appreciate.
Building sentry guns is ultimately a mistake. Take engineer and give him the Heavy's minigun but without the extra HP and replace the sentry gun with another building type that acts like Heavy's sandwich. Then remove Heavy from the game.

All maps are post apocalyptic, mad max theme'd. With some old maps that are extremely rundown and shit looking and filled with rubble.

Compfags wouldn't be an issue if tf2 wasn't balanced like total ass to start with. Balancing around the assumption that players are shit isn't real balance because eventually players stop being shit.

The line-artist works for Valve and surprisingly isn't a contractor (supposedly). She unfortunately has other priorities (that she must act on otherwise her co-workers will fucking vote to pay her less) like DotA and Artifact comics. I would presume the writer and color artist are also occupied with other things.

Valve doesn't plan anything long-term. I'm willing to bet Valve doesn't know what it wants to work on one year from now. We don't even know how they plan to unfuck Artifact; I hope Artifact is so fucking dead by the time they release whatever giant overhauling patch releases that nobody comes back.

Seriously, anybody who returns to Artifact in the future for any (good) reason has no fucking balls or standards whatsoever.

To be completely fair, Artifact is a fine game. The monetization model was also fair.

Here's the problem, they imposed all the rarity and economy scarcity bullshit associated with a regular card game for a digital product. Granted, this is what all the other digital card games are doing. The monetization model, though fair (relatively speaking) is something Valve should have fucking attempted to improve, which they didn't. They went with a standard model.

And that's the issue, they decided to not innovate. They decided to follow a trend instead of making something better. That was their problem. Everyone blames them for other shit but to me, my biggest contention was that they didn't fucking do anything new. They gave the public no information, gave beta keys to a limited number of people for a year, ignored their feedback, and released a pile of solid, surprisingly lacking in bugs, yet obviously average product.

They were lazy when they could afford to make the best product imaginable. The world would have tolerated low-effort from anybody else but this was Valve, which has unsurprisingly been low-effort for the past decade so I don't know why the fuck people expected any different.

Literally Nathan told his experience of VAing for valve, they basically fly him out, keep him there for a week to record lines, and all he knows is the gist of the lines. They don't tell him what the update is, what the theme is, ect. he's basically gotta adlib all of it on no information.

Valve is the sort of company that doesn't have someone fucking organizing the mail room. The fucking mail starts spilling underneath the door until someone realizes that they'll get a bonus for organizing it. Forget maintaining systems that minimize stress or organizing shit to mitigate stress. Nope, when it comes to a deadline it's fucking 18-hour-days crunch time and if you don't put in your 18-hours we'll fuck your pay.

Look at the comic. Nobody there was actually organizing the production of the comic. It was all three artists: line, writer, color doing the management themselves. Nobody prioritized shit for them they just did it. And now their priorities exist elsewhere, which is fucking making art for shit in Artifact. There will never again be a moment in the company where finishing the comic will be a good use of time; none of the three artists have a financial incentive to finish it; their fucking co-workers will fucking dock their pay if they, "work on a dying game like TF2 instead of making sure Artifact doesn't fucking die".

And obviously it's correct to be working on Artifact. There is zero money to be made on TF2's comic. And we get the comic for free. However, it's just another unfinished project. This is why it has always been a mistake to invest in Valve's artistic elements. Play for the game, you'd be a fucking idiot to invest in the art - like the fucking TF2 characters.

To be honest with you, I think they've written themselves into a corner and don't know how this shit is going to end.

The Administrator has only a couple hours to live. The conclusion of the comic and the fucking revelation of her motivations AND the resolution of her life's goal has to be complete in that window of time. In the meanwhile the team is on some fucking island and she is hidden on some other part of the planet.

The jokes will be funny but the actual conclusion to the plot won't be good at all. It's too much just like the G-Man and the Combine. They wowed us with too many awesome things but they haven't actually done anything to the deeper story in all these issues. We spent the first six fucking issues gathering the team back together and had them fight in issue seven. The Administrator, the whole fucking crux of this story, only appeared in the shadows the whole time.

200+ pages (as was the size of issue 7) is the equivalent of one year's worth of regular comic books. You can tell a lot of story in 200 pages. The problem is that most if not all of it will be flashbacks - flashbacks or history that should have been interspersed throughout all the earlier issues. In order to finish the comic they have to fucking flashback and maybe only spend 50 pages finishing everything from this moment on.

I'm saying that this won't end well. It will be a funny ride but it will be a shit storytelling experience. We'll get our closure but we'll be left with a feeling that it could have been better or that the exposition and plot development was rushed. And it could have been better if a fucking editor was organizing this shit in the long-term instead of three clearly unorganized artists.

Bitch has one hour to live. The remaining Austrailium is in space and not coming down. We have to fucking unravel two fucking generations of mercenary conflict in that time.

If you asked Valve programmers to make a shooter they would serious struggle to even understand why TF, CS, and L4D was so appealing.
