Those dots on their mugs aren't just for the lulz, their features have a varying effect on the in-game model, not only when it emotes, but also when relaxed - what you're seeing in-game is the lovechild of the model and mocap actor in a way. That's why they try to match them the best they can in pre-production, but DMC has a hard cast, so that's a no go.
