Now im in DMC3, first run on normal.

While im liking DMC3, the bosses are hard and fun, the styles are cool, but im genuinely disappointed at the fodder monsters. They are so fucking passive compared to their DMC1 counterparts. It feels like they are there just to get styled on. I was testing out royal guard, killed every enemy but a single one, and i was having trouble to get him to attack me. He just moved around doing nothing for 10 seconds.

Learn exceed, buster more or buster less, use Blue Rose charge shots, and use Nero's easy jump cancel shenanigans. Nero is probably the easiest character to style with, Vergil kills too fast if you play efficiently and Dante is APM autism.

You really need to Rev to get higher ranks easily. Buster as well helps a lot. Just keep trying every time you attack, you'll get a feel for the timing eventually.

Keep in mind, DMC3 has an extra difficulty with Very Hard, and part of that is because the original US release set Normal to Hard by default.

DMC3 introduced the idea of having very big differences in AI per difficulty. So easy and normal have them as super passive and you'll get maybe one going into it's attacks. Hard and Very Hard bump this up a lot and DMD you'll have 3 enemies constantly attacking.

It's part of the results screen and random Van stuff in menus. The Van scenes are animated and cycle. They change depending on where you are in the story, with different characters being in it. So once you beat the game, it has Dante, Vergil and Nero.

Trophy lists never have DLC Trophies launch with the game, they get added as an extra catagory that isn't required for Platinum.

Gonna be honest, it's only disappointing because I don't really look forward to playing as Dante. I'm just not a Dante player at heart. I don't play Dante unless forced to. Do Vergil almost exclusively in DMC3 and Vergil/Nero in DMC4. It's this weird thing where, aside from liking those two better as characters, Dante's gameplay is overwhelming. I recognize how fun the core character is and his potential with his vast moveset, just a linear-minded unga coming from fighting games who prefers things more streamlined I guess.

If I was a PC player with access to training modes and DMC3 style switcher I might like him more. Thankfully DMC5 has training and I can't wait.

you don't really have to style switch on the fly to be successful with dante

when first starting off, just play him DMC3 style and lock yourself into Trickster or Swordmaster. It seems like the styles have been buffed so they are more viable to use on their own (e.g. you can dash more than once with Trickster again without doing Royal Guard cancel shenanigans)

No, according to the novel, Dante went back to Dumary Island because Argosax's right hand, Balrog, has appeared and escape through a demon hole. When Dante fought against Balrog, he used Cerberus to the point that it got shattered. In the end Balrog acknowledged his defeat and transformed into what Dante is using now. Also it was noted the new devil arm talks like A&R.

yea, i played on med-high settings on a4 6300/GTX 1050ti since there's barely a difference on lower settings. the game had a fair amount stutters, but was playable enough for me. here's to hoping my PC can handle DMC5, otherwise I'd have to upgrade to an A8 or Athlon x4 (sasuga broke af college student)

Sparda essentially divided his power, which is pretty much all a demon is, across hundreds of seals around the world. The largest (not very big) chunk of his power being force edge. The "Sparda" that was around Dante and Vergil would've been almost nothing except bugdad's humanity, and going by how badly V takes extended living Sparda lasting around 8 years is something special. He likely wasn't killed, since Mundus never mentions it, but couldn't survive with his life force so divided.
