Depends. Clearing main story ranges from 40 to 60 hours depending on how much sidecontent you want to partake in, 100%ing is closer to 400 hours.

When I played back in december 2017 when it was released my file was around 200 hours on completion and never got burned out.
Mind you I played the game that long over a single month while working.

Needless to say I spent almost all of my free time not sleeping on the game, I don't know how the hell I played so long in such a condensed period and still not get burned out.

You can buy ether crystals and some of the Tiger Tiger-exclusive parts with bonus exp in NG+ now.
I have no idea if that actually removes all of the Tiger Tiger grinding or not, since I never bothered to put any real work into Poppi's later forms.

Why do people complain about this minigame so much? You people make it seem like the game is unplayable without upgrading Poppi but I haven't needed whatever rare drops you people are complaining about and Poppi has battled just fine. I've played the minigame a fair bit but never grinded for anything. It's a fun minigame, I play it to pass the time if I'm waiting for a merc mission to finish, never to grind to upgrade Poppi.

Maybe. It never stops feeling like a shonen anime, but I felt about the same at that point, and liked the plot a fair bit in the end. Who knows if that'll happen for you, though.
That being said, it gets a LOT worse before it gets better.

The combat system feels unnecessarily complicated compared to XC1, and the villains twirl their mustaches way too hard, and not in a campy way like Metal Face, for instance.
Maybe I just need to accept that they're gong for a completely different vibe than XC1.
