They didn't really, did they? If so, hilarious, because they had planned for a multiplayer co-op in the same vein as Anthem immediately after DAI came out that got canned, and it was basically just entirely reused DAI assets. Not a single weapon animation was changed.

Actually yeah, it is pretty amazing.

It is more that the western AAA game industry has gone in a bad direction. Projects with ridiculously bloated budgets and gameplay focus tested to hell and back. The game all end up pretty similar to each out and bland.
On top of that they shove horrible loot boxes and microtransactions into every game and they release half-finished games.
A game industry crash for the western AAA publisher would be a great way to flush all the trash out.
The cancer currently working at Bioware losing their jobs is just a bonus.

It's stupid saying this in defense of Anthem, but it had far worse issues than just this in the beta, like people being unable to play it for one. Also that this issue is still in the final game is mind boggling.

I'm not trying to defend anthem. I'm just wondering why it took so long for this issue to become a headliner. This problem has been there for ages.

It is mind boggling that it's in the final game, but so are a lot of issues. Hell the audio crackling is still there. Whenever you open the big door in the hub you get this really bad static like noise.

I have the game review copy, the two times it happened to me was during the fucking INTRO CUTSCENE. No idea how it happened. I was forced to watch that shit over again. The second time was trying to close the game, which other people said happens. Not sure what kinda shitty code does that, but in a world where Gearbox fucks their code for the Alien AI in ACM because of misspelling, I'm willing to believe almost anything now.

hard to say. i heard the game, for some reason, is constantly reading and writing from the hdd the entire time youre playing. if some piece of code was borked, it could be a memory leak that causes total system crash. im no expert, but thats my best guess.

I have the Origin Pass on PC, which is a decent deal for diving into some stuff I missed like Titanfall, so I got to play this game. I really wanted to like it, but not only is it filled with bugs and issues that show it clearly wasn't ready for launch, the people who did the designing of the endgame were just morons. There's some potential here underneath all the constant and total fuckups, but we'll never see it because

A. the designers are idiots
B. EA is going to kill this so hard

well if im right about my theory, it wouldnt matter whether its a ssd or normal hdd. i meant that since (apparently) the game is almost constantly read/writing to the hdd, then if there were to be a problem with the code that checks whether or not an action has been performed -- like acquiring a piece of gear or making progress in a mission or whateverthefuck -- then it would keep checking/rechecking until the system runs out of memory and hard crashes.
i could be completely wrong, but thats the first thing that jumped into my head when i heard about these anthem problems.
