I don't know why I'm having fun. All I'm doing is running around an empty desert and sometimes beating up starving people but I'm enjoying myself.
You can beat up starving people for free in real life.
my friend beat up a crackhead with a bottle one time. well, not my friend. a guy i knew.
Enjoying the shit out of it but I don't have a clue what to do. Currently in the Pic Related scenario in the Great Desert and once Hobbs comes back to life I have no idea what to do next.
I cracked and got it but didn't really take in account if my toaster can run it. Any essential settings to lower for better performance?
If you like open-ended games, sure
What was your intention going to the great desert?
Uhm....
>The scenery.
Shit answer but it's all I got, really.
Well explore other parts of the world then recruit followers and do shit I guess
I went there cause I heard Sho-Battai was a chill spot to buy a house and research stuff. But I don't know how to research shit that requires books
How the fuck am I supposed to make money though, my inventory's tiny as shit
get a backpack from the shinobi guys. join for 10k and get a ninja backpack
Much appreciated, but uh...
Where are they?
>I don't have a clue what to do
You should go check out those friendly robot dudes, they have good loot.
Sho-Battai in the great desert, The Hub in the middle/western part of the map, I've seen them in those two cities
I personally make money during the early game by mining but that's fucking boring, you could find better ways to make money such as stealing shit, looting corpses and stuff
Thanks my nigdude.
I don't know which robot dudes you're talking about but I found Iron Spiders a ways back and they were NOT fucking nice.
guys what areas are the trillest in this game? in the desert now
I had fun with it and believe it's worth the purchase but it can be a grinder and a very punishing game especially when looking for upgrades for research/tech.
It's micro rimworld but with dumber AI.
Fog islands
30 dollars for kenshi is less than a katana and neat straw hat for myself though
place books inside the research bench
nice screenshots but I wish to god disabling UI also disabled the cursor. It ruined all my screenshots too
Yeah, I wish I never noticed. Nice party, way better than my two shit dudes.
bought the game when it was 12 bucks best investment I made
It's not a game for everyone, but if it's for you then you won't regret it.
Can I use WASD to move or is it another soulless RTS
If you run into them be sure to help them peel potatos
Cannibal Plains
Fog Islands
Boneyard
Swamp
those sound like the shittiest areas
You asked for a thrill
Yes
And I highly suggest you download every mod you can on steam since they all add a lot to the game
I just bought the game. Should I experience vanilla first, or can I just dive into mods now?
Just keep walking southwest.
Vanilla
I'm hoping it'll replace warband as my new open RPG type world.
Tfw toaster can't do dx11 so you can't play
Kenshi has a lot in common with M&B, its a big open world filled with factions interacting with each other and you're just a pawn in the middle of it. But It is a hell of a lot harder and you are massively reliant on all your characters to survive.
What's there?
What's with all the kenshi threads lately this week
1.0 hits
and sseth
Buyfags are so stupid. Y'all will be refunding that shit as soon as you discover that it's as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle
i bought it and didnt play it in order to give money to the creators
this is exactly, specifically the type of game you buy
any books? because the books i put in didn't work
Just the research books
>level up martial arts
>kick someone's arm off
Yeah, I'm thinking this game is pretty sweet.
So is M&B but thats fun
Kenshi is satisfying because its harsh as fuck and you dont have a lot of tools to survive, you really have to struggle to get anywhere or do anything
You're the kind of person who this game isn't meant for. Games like Rimworld, Mount & Blade, and Kenshi are open games that give you all the tools to have your own fun. Stick to linear games, they are more your style.
I agree
Except rimworld isn’t that great and definitely not worth the price
Was he the aggressor or did the crackhead attack him first?
I wish there was more indicator of difficulty in regions. I finally decided to leave hungry town for the little red line on the map near it. The second I entered the area it started raining about 3 beak things swarmed me. I spent over an hour kiting them trying to recover my KO'd members. By the end of it there were more than 10 chasing me. They just kept spawning on top of me.
the indicator is you dying horribly
Generally speaking the closer to the hub the easier it is, just north of the hub in holier-than-thou lands is also pretty easy early on since its just starved bandits.
That being said no region is truly safe, every trip is a risk.
I see you have also watched the edgy dunkey review
The area I'm talking about is pretty close though. Also the only thing about difficulty I've seen in game is someone directly telling me not to go north if I want to live. Welp
I played for like 30 hours then suddenly totally lost interest. I'd still say it's worth 30 bucks for what I got out of it.
If you go too far north you're going to find people who really enjoy your company, because they'll drink out of your skull
I'll be careful
hey hey people
Go to bed Sseth
should i get this or dawn of man?
god fuck someone help me make a decidion it huuuurts
Get Kenshi, create army of crabs, take over the world.
I hear dawn of man is shit
Pirate them both and buy the ones you like.
1.0 released
>start as 5 hungry losers
>spawned in some destroyed town
>swarmed by skeleton thrall and killed instantly
10/10
whelp i got it. what should i do for my first playthrough? i really want to be a caravan trader
>first playthrough
Spawn as a wander and walk around
find a town with some close-by copper ore, get to mining, buy a backpack, then fill it with items that have a less than 100% "markup" i.e. a discount.
Okay, so a mean lady in the swamps told me I have to smuggle her hashish to a city, but when I got there no one wants to buy my stuff. Is there someone in particular I need to speak with? Also, I may have dragged a leviathan to said city killing dozens, but well shit happens.
is this online?
there should be someone in a bar you can talk to with the name "thief fence" or there might be a shinobi thieves tower with someone to talk to
no
You need to sell to the shinobi thieves but they only trade with members and membership costs 10k
>no
and im out
It's a shame it would be an amazing multiplayer game with some tweaks
Why should I buy this game instead of pirate
>Inb4 moralfag
yeah, support the developers
a small team spent 10-14 years on it, and the game is so niche that you should support the team if you ever hope to see anything like it again
There is a legitimate reason. Kenshi has a huge modding scene and 90% of the good mods are only available on Steam Workshop, not Nexus. And the websites that convert workshop files into regular mods do not work with Kenshi. So if you pirate you will be locked out of mod support (which is a huge part of the game)
I only brought it because of the steam workshop. Some of the mods aren't on the nexus and I don't know if they are available anywhere else.
Can i copy my pirated save over to the legit version and continue?
It's worth it if you are autistic enough to make your own stories and enjoy the chaos in it. This is coming from someone who usually min maxes and save scums in most games or will read guides. In Kenshi you pretty much have to let go to progress and can experience some hilarious things. I jumped right in with no guides and went into the slog. I got a solo guy to about 80 in game days and finally started some recruiting. The dialogue between squad members is great as you enter areas. I got a skeleton traveler to go along with me and we went into the northern most waste earlier. I had no idea about a cannibal mega city and happened across them as I was traveling close to some tech hunters. We got into a giant rolling battle with the cannibals and barely made it out alive. I captured their leader for a big bounty and had to carry him all the way back to shek territory. I've been having a blast just exploring ruins and trying to live through how brutal the game is while at other times i'm blown away by how massive and beautiful it can feel. So abstract. I feel like a kid playing fallout 1 for the first time again and you can't put a price on that.
You should be able to, there's a folder for saves so I assume you can transfer save files. If you're just going to pirate it to try it, there is also a free demo. Its the whole regular game but your squad size can only be 2 people and your stats cap earlier than normal.
This game would be great to play with friends. Or have some pseudo-mmo server with multiple people online all making bases and interacting.
Stealing is pretty broken. Get a little lock picking skill and go into a shop with items out in the open at night while sneaking. The various spirits sell for a good amount and will easily get you enough cats for shinobu or whatever else you need in the start.
Firstly go download all these mods. Caravan trading is not very effective in the base game, but some of these mods make it really good.
1. Mining Copper which is the best oh-fuck-i-have-nothing money maker
2. Find lone characters and try to knock them out and or fight them
3. Wait by boarder guards until they get into fights and loot corpses
4. Run around the world looking for people in fights and loot their corpses
5. Smuggle illegal goods (swamp sells some) into towns
These are good things you can do from the start with almost nothing on you but a few cats.
Its important to know that getting your ass kicked is a valid way to play Kenshi, as long as you dont die (or have someone who can save you after a fight) its worth it since it levels up your stats.
For all you new players ill give you one useful hint, in the Hub (which is the starting town for the first character option) in one corner there is a tower where the Ninja's are, you can join them for 10,000 cats which will give you a place to rest, train some stats and purchase special items. They will also come to your aid if they are near and you get into a fight. You can also purchase a house in the Hub which is a good way to get started, since you need to research buildings before you go out and build your own town.
Also I HIGHLY recommend you download some mods, most of this list is good . They make the world more alive so you have more chances to make money and interact with the world.
M&B has modules for months
i have to wait until payday to get it boys. friday night to really dive in. hold me kenshibros, im not going to make it.
might as well learn patience now before the game fucks you in the ass for your impatience
Buy it if only to make modding easier. Also, games like these get the initial release pirated but then it's a pain in the dick to update.
Robbing caravans is the best way to get cash early on. Just follow a caravan that's leaving the city and agro all the hostiles around it on the way. Eventually you'll end up with dead pack beast full of very expensive loot.
Yes they fucking do work. ALL kenshi steam mods are mirrored on skymods. Fuck steam trash, get the game from gog or pirate.
Fun

>Mining Copper
Mining copper is a dumb and boring way to make money, I really don't understand why people suggest it. Is this how you haze newbies in Kenshi threads?
Follow guards, pull enemies in to them, profit. Bonus points for helping bandage them and getting reputation.
> choose a group of five
> Spawn in middle of nowhere
> There's a destroyed building nearby
> Loot it for material and tools
> Try to build a base
> A swarm of headless robots comes, kills my entire team and fucks off
> Save scum to avoid running into those groups
> One of the smaller groups gets pecked by some beasts
> Loot the corpses and leave asap
> Found out the team doesn't have enough building materials to build a small shack
What am I doing wrong?
No, he asked for a trill.
You dont build a base until your high level just move onto a town
it's every bit as fun as dwarf fortress, and that's all anyone could ask for. maybe you should play something else
>boring
You put your slaves on it and automate hauling. Its literally a free passive income while you do fun things.
If he was a nigger then who cares?
If you have absolutely nothing and desperately need cats copper is one of the most risk free ways of doing it
There's nothing wrong with risk, especially in the early game. Most enemies you face are so poorly equipped you wont get any fatal wounds. With two or three people in your party there's pretty much no chance of dying to early game threats.
sho-battai has tonns of skimmers that try to rush city every day. Loot them for a solid cash and free meat.
>two or three people
>rock bottom
Yes, what about it?
and when you have enough money (around 2k or so) you can hire some mercs in the outpost east of the hub and make them raid the dustking's base and you can turn it in the near by stien's police hq for a cool 40k + all of his stuff
The attacker or the crackhead?
there's a fucking demo
>tfw playing the game like a bitch and slowly grinding research + cash for a good base
Its nice to see that even in smaller indie games the modding community has to flap their dicks around
How can a game be so fucking ugly but pretty at the same time
>Yfw
Did Sseth bring all this interest?
Nah, it's been building rapidly since 1.0. There were a lot of November/December threads, which is when I picked it up. Sseth is just fuel on the fire.
i found out about sseth through kenshi threads
i also found out about kenshi through kenshi threads
He certainly helped. I know I wouldn't be in this thread or even considering the game if I didn't see his review. It looks interesting enough that I don't think I would be sad to see the 30 bucks go to the dev. Otherwise I would have thought it some naff MMO or souls rip off just by the name and never looked at it.
loot and sell makes the most money
I leave my base to set up a new outpost in the canibal plains or hidden forest, since I researched half of the mounted crossbows and harpoons. Is this a stupid idea?
Hypothetical question, but what would happen if I made a human female character with minimum strength and constitution, then went out unarmed into the middle of a bandit fortress?
As long as you have strong gates it's not an issue. Otherwise I hope you have a strong squad.
Cannibals come in very large groups, so they break weak gates extremely fast.
Nothing that you are hoping for. And there are no mods for it yet either.
There are however nude mods
So if you want you could go out north and get spit roasted. In the literal 'cooked alive on a spit' sense.
You get beaten and robbed, possibly found by cannibals so you have your skin peeled off and your body boiled.
>get mod for screaming bandits to make them more visually unique
>they only appear in one area of the game, their armour and weapons look great
>there is nothing else in this zone so you will never see it unless you go out of your way to go there
Did I miss something? Seems odd to have such an interesting faction tied to such an empty zone, it literally has no landmarks to check out and is far from an capitals, so no real reason to be there.
I wish this game would have bows, crossbows and guns which everyone could carry. I can install mods but it is not the same.
Guns should be super rare late game items where you could also could create your ammo and extremely op imagine dozen of charging thugs at you and you pull out your smg and kill them all.
crossbows aren't too uncommon.
Kenshicons is pointless since those icons are already included in the game
I've never even fought them before, I always chat them down.
Even though its 1.0 I dont think the game was close to finished they just got bored with it, some of the zones are fairly dead
>Training mods
Disgusting
Because its so fun having to train 10 new recruits by running them around the wild
I think of you talk to the same guy twice and do the same options they start fighting you. I wanted their armour, it looks great, wish the guy would make more and make all bandit factions look as unique.
Just use training dummies and then throw them into the meat grinder, as is tradition.
Stats ain't free, the strength of a character must be cultivated with their own blood.
Should i move this game to ssd? Since there are a bit of loadings if you move around the world.
Preferably, yes.
do I need mods to get a good experience or is vanilla solid?
I was fine with vanilla for my first playthrough. Just play it first and you'll figure out on your own what you find lacking and then look for mods to alleviate that. The only kind of mods I'd recommend for a first playthrough are fixes and performance improvement mods.
started as the armless runaway. spent first few days mining copper outside a town for some cats and food and then left for an adventure. I've now wandered for 30 days around the whole map and I'm nearing the first desert town I left. I have 30 str and 15 dex and 50 athletics plus bunch of sick cunts I recruited along the way. the game is pretty fun.
Yes, it made a huge difference on my end. It's still garbage though.
>the websites that convert workshop files into regular mods do not work with Kenshi
Literally all you need to do is change the downloaded mod folder name to match that of the mod files within, that's it.
I think the fact there's no point to anything you do in the game is what eventually kills it. Yes, I'm aware that the point of the game is a sandbox to make your own story in but without any way to control territory or affect the game world beyond hitting scripted triggers it all kind of peters out into 'why bother?' territory. You get bigger and more powerful for the sake of getting bigger and more powerful and that's about it.
This seems pretty accurate. You can't accuse them of halfassing it but I think what they probably intended and what they could actually accomplish without it turning into a 'life's work' Dwarf Fortress situation is probably very different.
So he randomly decided to beat on a homeless guy for now reason. Sounds like a psycho.
>talked to some weird dude in the bar
>he's following me around now
>we run around The Hub and mine copper
>sell the copper to buy food and buildings supplies
>now have built a shack at the top of a cliff
>need more bodies to mine copper and rocks
How do I get more people? Everyone wants a fuck load of cats. Do they stay with you after you pay their fee? I don't want to grind out 5000 cats only to have them person leave a day layer.
Rollan the Thompson gunner
get northgard in humble monthly hella
one armed bandit
I just want a model that allows me to build a training pole where I can tie prisoners too and practice combat on live people without them running
>How do I get more people?
You easily find them in bars.
> Everyone wants a fuck load of cats.
Don't they want like 3,000? It's not a fuckload of cash, you easily make those in 10 minutes at the beginning.
>Do they stay with you after you pay their fee?
Yes.
Honestly fuck mining. Early game you're better off scavenging the remains of caravans/fights and selling off whatever you can find. Things like decent rations go for a lot of money and you don't need to hoard them early on. Once you're not a total piece of shit then you can move away from the safety of the cities and if you're lucky run into a bandit or two with a bounty on them and work your way up from there. Also remember you can always drag back unconscious people to a slaver trader in towns for a few hundred cats.
t. 526,395 cats
No
The game is an acquired taste and requires you to spend hours to properly enjoy it. Either you will get it or not. There's a lot of people, at least on Yea Forums, who bought the game and felt got scammed because they're retards who never do any research on their life.
Pirate it first. If you enjoyed it somewhat, buy the game to support the devs and accessing workshops. Otherwise it's just waste of money on your side.
>-fun things
Like what? Also are slaves different from squad mates?
i think my game broke due mods npc are always in buildings even at night
>Pirate it first
the game links to a demo on store page mate.
I don't understand the appeal of mods, don't they break the game? like the game was intended to be played some way, then you add a mod and change it's rules, you could make the game 10% easier and that's already cheating, you could give yourself unlimited bag space, or increased exp rates and maximum stats to avoid grinding etc. The second you use a console comand, or install any mod that gives you some sort of advantage you might as well turn on god mode.
Damn, It's been a long time since I had a demo for a game
Not every mods are cheats
art direction, pretty much
Good mods will flesh out the game with more content that is more or less in line with what's already in the game. They don't have to affect the player directly, they can be new factions or they can change the game logic to make NPCs have new behaviours. If they add weapons or gear they 'should' be in line with what's already in the game or be a logical extension for what can exist in-universe.
Otherwise yeah you can just break the game and be a 5' tall anime tiddymonster who one hit's everything with the power of her milkers and kawaii.
Lots of mods just change things. They might make things easier ultimately, they might make things harder. But that's not the goal, they are there to make things interesting. And many mods don't affect gameplay at all.
So for example, there are mods that let you take over some cities. Does that make the game easier? Maybe. But mostly it makes the game more interesting and gives you fun things to do later in the game and something to strive for. It helps you feel the impact of your team actually affecting the world around them.
I didn't know nude mods are cheating.
If anything playing the game one-handed puts you at a disadvantage
>nude mods
>rock bottom start
>you are now roleplaying as your character
GENIUS
Some of the mods are really good though and make the game world more alive, at the very least you could download faction caravans, extended camping, reactive world, random enemy squad numbers, profitable slavery (because fuck base game slavery) and bandit disharmony (means bandits from different factions will fight, rather than be friends which makes no sense)

Compared to vanilla morrowind, amazing.

Phoneposting.
I always saw the point of it as survival. Try importing your save and turning up difficulty like mob sizes, raid frequency aswell as damage and chance of death. I wouldnt touch the food one but it should at least be so that food is something you cant ignore. Think of it as NG+ if you want to keep your characters.
>And the websites that convert workshop files into regular mods do not work with Kenshi.
Ahahahahaha bullshit.
Quit trying to get faggots to buy your broken, unfinished mess of a game.
you can savescum in this game?
go to the snowy area at the south east part of the map, you won't regret it :^)
Honestly, not that bad. What trips people up is that even catastrophic failure isn't (always) game ending and in fact you *can't* progress without having the shit kicked out of you over and over again. My characters first week or so of life consisted of this:
>Try mining outside of the town I started in
>Dickhead bandits come out of nowhere and start harassing me
>Try and fight them, barely get one hit in before they're obviously going to fuck me up
>Run to the town guards, a big fight ensues - I try and be clever and take some gear from a guard who goes down
>This counts as stealing and I'm suddenly a wanted criminal
>Try and run away only to realise I'm bleeding out, collapse in an unconscious heap in the middle of town
>Guards arrest me and tie me to a post, although they helpfully fix my wounds up
>Have to try and fail over and over again to pick the lock to my shackles, finally break free
>...get fucked up on the escape, repeat the process of breaking out
>Finally run away and into the desert
Now I'm a successful mercenary captain/bounty hunter who moonlights as the owner of an alcohol brewing operation for a few extra cats.
110% yes
Yes, but the whole game is designed around taking the kicks and moving on. You won't gain 'toughness' if you don't lose (many) fights. Most of the time you'll just be knocked out unconscious unless you do something really stupid like take on an Alpha Skimmer as a naked, starving vagrant. Even then you might survive except with a lost arm/leg until you can afford a cybernetic one.
You can but if you do your character will be utter shit because taking damage and surviving is how you level the stat that actually lets you survive damage. You take the losses with the wins, when you lose in this you get up stronger, thats if you can actually get up.
That would actually make a difference here? The problem is its unoptimized, I dont think this is going to fix that.
>open world crafting survival game
Yea Forums:
>its fucking shit
>open world crafting survival strategy game
Yea Forums:
>FUCKING GENIUS
This isnt a crafting game at all user, having crafting in the game does not make it a crafting game. That is the problem with all those other games, crafting is integral to doing anything in the game at all.
npcs live in their shops. you walking in loud as fuck woke em up
>install zombie mod
>rolling Holy Nation start with my own platoon of paladins
>defending the last bastions of humanity from the horde, turn Hub into my base of operations
>endless hordes attacking, need to strike packs of zombies before they reach hub so the town doesn't get overrun
>have 20+ beds in house that's constantly filled with wounded holy soldiers and KO'd hub ninjas
>suddenly super fucking massive horde with 100+ zombies, casualties everywhere
>Okran protects
Except Kenshi is actually good and 99% of crafting/survival games are not.
The whole game is pretty much ugly desert though
>That would actually make a difference here? The problem is its unoptimized, I dont think this is going to fix that.
amazed by the ignorance of this statement. Why contribute when you haven't got a clue
Am I wrong? There is no notable increase in performance from doing this, the game just runs like ass.
Getting enslaved by The Holy Nation has been confirmed to be powergaming because of all the skills you can grind in Rebirth
It's a game that's not for everyone, but if you happen to be the kind of person the game is for, then yes, $30 is nothing for what you get out of it. It's really rough around the edges but there is nothing really like it on the market.
Watch some lets plays to get an idea of what it is would be my recommendation. If you aren't sure after watching for 15 or so minutes it's probably not for you.
Ah yes, the good ol' "No country for old men" method of getting loot.
>Day 3: 66k cats
This is the best start iv ever had, all the caravans are getting killed off by skimmers.
Once I hit a few 100k im going to buy all of the Hub.
>literally begging for no more content
The absolute state of Kenshifags
dev cocksuckers
What a cuck
There are clearly things unimplemented left in the full game and things left unpolished
Hell, I know the lore Dev (Dev's sister actually) wanted to add more lore
There are some free heroes here and there, like Beep in Mongrel (the city surrounded by Fogmen) and Hobbs who is drinking in a bar. There is also Ruka, a Shek chick I found in their main city hanging out who will join you if you say the right shit. I think. I always say the same shit, so I don't know if there is a wrong thing to say.
Is aiming to be a slave a good way to learn the ropes?
Is the slave experience good?
Ironic that she's the only competent writer being a female working on a modern game and all, and I'm pretty sure she re-wrote a lot of the non-lore dialogue because I remember I used to cringe reading some of it, but haven't at all lately. The main dev is so illiterate.
Even if they didn't add big new features (faction wars, actual conquest etc.) I definitely think having a 'reason' to explore the world and some sort of context for the hows and whys of the world would go a long way.
>as fun as dwarf fortress
>that's all anyone could ask for
i could ask for it to be free
It gives you clear goals right from the outset. Get in your cage when you are told and work when you are told, then break free at some point. The other starts kindof just drop you in the middle of nowhere and you decide what to do.
Anyone know how to git gud?
I've recruited a few people and now I have a group of five. I've started a small outpost outside of the starting town on wanderer setting.
I keep getting raided and I'm too weak to defend so I run to the nearby town and scavange and sell the dead people loot.
It feels like I'm playing the game wrong because its not fun.
Dont build out of town till u get good
>get good
what do i do
buy houses in outposts?
you can buy vacant houses on towns by clicking doors. there will be a purchase button on lower left. housing in cities are defended by guards but I think you need to pay taxes or something.
It wouldve been better to try and buy a building in a hub and work from there researching things before making a base, click on the door of a building to see if its for sale, itll appear in the bottom left if it is. You flat out need the crossbow turrets, strong gates and walls if you want to surive on your own.
If you want to make money either steal or mine ore and sell it, stealing is faster than the other but has its own risks.
You probably started building a base too early but apart from that being a pathetic piece of shit living off scraps is basically the start of the game. The only way to 'get good' is to play longer because you only 'learn by doing'.
That said if you're not going to enjoy the aimlessness now you probably never will. Having a group of 5 wanderers doing not much at all isn't going to be any different from having 20 people with not much to do.
i had a lot of fun but once i built a small village, got a blacksmith high enough to craft full Masterwork armor for my 10 man raider party i got bored grinding stats and shit just wasnt as fun anymore and it felt like i wasnt really progressing anywhere anymore there wasnt much of a reason for me to go anywhere anymore as i wasnt really getting anything
>he asked for a trill.
let's see what i get
If I recall the main dev did once say he isn't a writer, he just wanted to make a game.
Aiight
Yes, aim for a public one because it means people will shop there. You can use it as a protected hub for a while, free from any actual raids, while you research shit, produce shit and yadda yadda. Only aim for your own base when you are prepared, because no matter where you build, hell will follow and it'll be up to you to defend yourself.

Towns get raided by roaming bandits but very rarely.
Outposts (player owned villages) get raided multiple times a day, depending on the region. If you piss someone off or refuse to pay taxes they might raze your outpost.
Suprisingly, it's worth it
They dont get raided, nothing happens to them if you leave them.
Towns can still be attacked as usual but they wont go for your house, just you, and guards will come save you. Nearly every town has a house for sale ranging from 4k to 10k+. You can build inside them (as well as on the roof if it has one) and it acts like a minibase.
You dont build a main base outside a town until you have researched lots of buildings and got a large strong party because you will get raided continuously.
How much money do I need to not get jailed for poverty in united cities territory?
It's the closest safe place to me and I need to know how much of my shit I've gotta sell to this trader before I can gain enough cash for entry
fuck the one armed start is painful
if you took even the bare minimum amount of effort or research you would see that this game not only doesn't match the generic survival sim genre but predates it entirely.
>wojak reaction image
like pottery
low effort reply for a low effort post from low effort scum
>fuck the one armed start is painful
You should go to Sho-Battai first and make your money there, as well as at the stone camp just south of it (lots more combat). Follow caravans with animals, because they inevitably get killed and you can loot them for mad dosh.
Once you have some money and clothes you can stroll into any city without being arrested for being poor and uggo.
Small ninja backpack from shinobi theives doesn't effect combat stats and will increase your inventory a bit. Get a bull or Garu if you can and a backpack for it and you'll never have to worry about space, only problem will be keeping the thing alive as it grows from a Pup to a Elder, as if it goes down starving niggers will instead of just looting it for food will attempt to butcher it and will outright kill it if you don't stop them. It can't fight for shit as a pup and takes forever to raise any of its skills. Same happened with my bonedog but I managed to get it to elder and now it can easily fuck up dudes.
It's a genuine bonding experience carrying around a bonedog puppy that has three broken legs 85% of the time and watching it slowly becoming a merciless killing machine
Do NOT build a town right away. I did that in the swamp for the hounds when they ask you to make a Hashish farm and it made me give up on that run because of how fucking boring and tedious it was getting. Not because the building sucks as such but because not only was I in a shitty swamp with tough as shit spiders, but since I hadn't done anything involving building I was having to research literally everything in a half finished outpost. I found the best thing to do is buy a house and research shit there, you won't need to even build beds if there's a shinboi theives place nearby and you join them.
That dude makes great videos
turning up squad sizes and frequency is in fact lowering the difficulty even when starting out.
more bodies to exp on.
its way harder to die in this game than people think, espevially once you know what actually kills you and what just beats you up, and getting beat up basically levels you up, so early on you play it kinda in reverse and trying to be as masochistic as possible. i always turn up squad frequencies to not look for bandits too long. though it leads to absolute mess and fps problems on HN/UC border.
>having so little clue about a game yet still voicing your meme opinion on it through buzzwords
you tried to look cool but you ended up looking like a tool, bucko
feel free to never post again
mfw I find a bug archer and have a mounted cross bow MKII
Reminder Hiver are Jews, Shek niggers and Holy Nation based.
Hivers are Indian 3rd worlders trying to peddle shot goods
I swear your dudes go out of their way to not actually kill the giant elephant bird monster trying to eat them
I don’t mind getting raided but constantly does not sound fun.
hey hey people
buy Mount and Blade: Warband instead
it gets bareable when you have a good mounted xbow shooter with the part2 version research
YE
Its limb based, meaning the part that actually gets hit is the part that takes damage, its a murder giraffe, so its head is really high up until it attacks and its legs can take a stupid amount of punishment, if you surround them they can be stunned but obviusly this requires numbers. Whenever you knock them down loot them and take a piece of meat off them, this will kill them so they dont get back up and start attacking again.
>think something that big wouldnt be very fast
this. i think it's absolutely amazing
Read only if you wish to break the game.
Pick a start in or near the Hub
>Recruit Hobbs and take all his acid protection gear and leave him behind.
>Run north/north east to Bad Teeth then East till you get to Black Desert city (you should take no damage from acid rain.
>Head over to the scraphouse and abuse LOS to loot everything you can carry.
>Recruit Sadniel in Black desert city to help you carry more (beware he won't be allowed in Bad teeth)
>Run back to Bad Teeth and offload your goods
>Getting enslaved by The Holy Nation has been confirmed to be powergaming because of all the skills you can grind in Rebirth
>Being a slave will train your athletics and strength
>Try sneaking at night inside your cage and it rapidly builds stealth skill cause of how many people are constantly on watch
>Lockpick your cage/shackles till you get out
>Once you are at max stealth, try knocking out guards
>They will beat the shit out of you when you fail and train your tougheness
>They won't actually let you die
>And you can't starve as a slave
>Eventually get stats to move with impunity at night and stock supplies in secret for your grand escape
Hilarious is what it is.
lets get it
>be me
>have a basement full of niggers working
>cops come
>"i'm just training their stats"
thats exactly what it did for me
Last time I played the United Cities declared war on me because I was growing hemp in my base to make clothes and armor. Fuck nobles and fuck the samurai.
Go capture one of those noble fags, use a peeler to remove their limbs and dump their limpless body outside the gates of Heft.
>in fact you *can't* progress without having the shit kicked out of you over and over again
Not true.
>Research a form of power generation and skeleton repair beds
>Build a fuctioning repair bed outside of a town.
>Kite a skeleton with a crossbow till you knock him down.
>Repair and repeat till you break off both his legs.
>Stick legless robot in repair bed, it won't get out again
>Train martial arts and toughness
>Become a beast without anyone kicking your ass in no time.
You should play it. It’s fun
>Being this sadistic towards poor skellies
Are all Holy Nation fags as sociopathic as you, user?
Nah, those fags are Jews after that lantern shit they pull.
Cat-Lon did nothing wrong, that nigger Tinfist ruined everything and continues to do so for everyone.
It is. Just install a torrent client
The game crashes every time i exit.
Anyone know of some super sicrit work around.
Quick goggling didn't help.
Imagine actually joining the United cities lmao
It's not sadistic. How can one take pleasure in inflicting pain, when the object feels no pain? Is a boxer punching a punching bag a sadist?
You can pirate it to try it. It takes a few hours to get into. I pirated it, played, thought I didn’t like it. Then I tried it again with the slave start and got hooked then bought it yesterday. Most fun I’ve had in a long time.
Oh no no no no...
>he uses a heavy weapon
Trying to over compensate for something loser?
>day 40
>those fucking stats on his character
It's like 2 jokes in one
>Hobbs saves my ass after being knocked out by being an absolute madmen and while barehanded beating the living shit out of all the bandits surrounding my unconscious body.
How can one man be so based?
Yes, I did yesterday
i get the joke but they are literally the most op weapon class by far once you have enough stats
fists would be godly but dodge animation is too long and heavy armor penalizes it too much
wearing masterwork unholy plate, black chainmail, samuraiboo legplates and one of the heavy 100% coverage helmets makes you a literal god who is unable to die, light/medium armor got nothing on that, that plated jacked suit is overrated.
protip: you need double the strength of the weapon weight to swing it without attack speed penalties. if you do, all weapons have roughly the same speed. therefore dont ever use high tier frag axes (youll need way more than 100str), use falling suns or planks instead.
I'm sure your ass will be free in prison
someone perfectly described kenshi
bad game when you start
great game when you're discovering all the possibilities
bad game when you know how to play
My dumb fucking dog won't eat
That said I don't know if it's a glitch but sometimes the guards will leave me to bleed out, I usually just save scum because I'm not 100% sure if it's supposed to happen. And also be careful because sometimes if you do it before you're fully healed the guards will beat you until they cripple you to bring you down.
>he needs armor
Lmao. I do think there's mods that help martial arts a lot though, specifically making the animations play a bit faster so you can get back on the offensive and removing that matrix type dodge where your guy looks like he's about to trip over his own two feet.
Rimworld is a great game dude I'm gonna rape your stupid face.
Build a feeding through or kill someone hard enough you take off there limbs, they take them, run around with it in their mouth playing and then eat it.
Highly recommend the cannibal and shriek bandits expansion mods. I essentially live in this place.
does it have online? I jus hit new game but didnt see anything for multiplayer?
no
Bogpill me on the porn mods
Legally, it's a grey area
Morally, it's questionable
Personally, I like them.
should I buy? clocked 500+ hours on M&B and I love sandbox games but this looks like a real pain in the ass to get in to.
Yeah any decent fighter will block/dodge hundred strikes in a row, but in a tough fight some will inevitably come through, appropriately dressed monk will take a chunk of damage from that, while having a set i mentioned turns even the most lethal, otherwise oneshotting attacks into 1-2 damage scratches. heavy armor penalties are almost unnoticeable with heavy weapons even if you use a cutting one, their damage is about thrice more than what other weapons of similar grade have. you'll understand once you'll get schematics, highlevel smith and tech for masterworks and look at the resistance numbers of those pieces, they are just silly, multiple pieces that cover same body part stack, so for example your stomach is protected by mail and plate and in half cases by legplates, all your vitals have absolutely absurd mitigation and even arms/legs are very high up there (and they have much lesser chance to be hit in a first place), then you also have toughness further stacking it up, so yeah. its really easy to break this game if you play a race that has all armor slots unlocked.
>should I buy?
yes. I have 1500 hours on M&B and Kenshi, while being completely different and not as similar as other anons claim in my opinion, is the only game that scratches that same itch for me. 300 hours on Kenshi so far and I'm fucking loving it.
>this looks like a real pain in the ass to get in to.
It is. Remember your first time playing M&B getting raped and captured unable to figure out what you're supposed to be doing? it's like that x100. The learning curve is honestly harder than M&B and at first the game seems empty and frustrating but just trust once you get to grips with it its worth it
What mod adds that hammer?
Cannibal expansion mod
just pirate, nigger. if you're the moral type of guy then you'll decide for yourself. its a great game, i love rock sword too but they arent that much similar desu, first of all your character is mortal, second of all there next to zero skill in combat so its all about stats, in mb you can beat asses from the get go if you're experienced and know how combat works, here it doesnt really matter. Politics are kinda "fixed", you can't fully join a faction and fight for cities, if you wipe out a city it will be reoccupied by some other closest faction and that's about it. Lore, setting and to an extent exploration are good though, world is huge but can be "empty" if you want content/quests/whatever behind every corner, its mostly chill barren landscapes, and this "ascension to godhood" shit is cool, I mean in mb you hit your powerceiling pretty fast, here a dude will eventually be able to oneshot 3 guys with a swing and take on tens and tens of men without taking any damage at all.
There's a demo on their website though. No idea how it works though, if it just let's you play up to a certain point or restricts you to one area.
oh also its not so much an rpg, there is no even "your character" to begin with unless you roleplay to have one, you select a dude and click around so he moves and attacks, that's how you play, there is no real difference between whoever you start with or the guy you'll recruit in five minutes in tavern. By default you can have i think 30 people or so which is really not a lot if you want to have a decent base going and some raiding party outside, you can edit a single digit in construction set though to bring it up to 256 though that's a big overkill.
there's a demo on the torrents too without any restrictions.
Dropping food will let your dog eat it or you can have food in a backpack and it will eat it
thanks for the replies will buy when I get bored of Vermintide 2
Any sex mods like Conan?
rolling for a new run
>you can't fully join a faction and fight for cities
You can TECHNICALLY join a faction, giving you a rep boost with them and a rep loss with their enemy faction, which is odd since how the fuck do they know what I've done? That said it doesn't really do anything.
>mfw I tried Kenshi because of a single post with a picture and a name in a WRPG thread way back when
>mfw it now gets threads dedicated to it
Sometimes it all works out.
>Immortan Joe run
Fuck I would kill for a transportation mod for this game.
had a nest of beak things nearby, so i just lured those fucks to those spider fucks and made them kill eachother, got a bunch of ancient science books
i stopped playing when i realized that you can't get up from recovery coma when you have negative/bleeding body parts
You don't fall into a recovery coma if your bodyparts aren't lower than your KO point when unconsciousness ends
pirate it and if you find yourself spending more than a few hours then buy it when it goes on sale and or actually support the dev by buying it if you legitimately enjoy playing it.
The game is definitelly worth buying. It took me a couple of tries, but I've started from the captain's son scenario (where you have a katana but the overly zealous empire fucking hates you also you have 0 dollars) to a nice party of 8 which are decently trained for combat. I think it's fun like, of course you do a big deal of grinding for the first 2 hours of gameplay until you get into the real shit, but later you designate like 3 or 4 dudes to do some mining, and use the others to loot and steal and shit. It's an amazing feeling running through the middle of nowhere hoping that you don't stumble into a pack of bandits or wild dogs, getting around a town and trying to steal as much shit as you can before you get caught. Personally I pirated it, and I found most mods from the workshop elsewhere, but that's because I don't have that kind of money to spare for a game at this time. I would definitely if I could it's fucking amazing and it seems very replayable.
Rolling away
Test
Beep boop fuck fleshies
>Holy mines
>Holy mines
>Holy mines
>Holy mine ruins
>Holy military base
Holy shit, is there anything that is not holy?
Seems like a fun idea to eventually wreck their asses.
I'm not sure if something went wrong but there's a town near my starting town that has no people living in it, so I walked in, stole all the things, cranked my lock picking up to 35, walked back to the first town, sold all my shit and repeat
Dust Bandits keep kicking my ass though, they camp out in the middle of the road
A some of their shit by the border zone got destroyed by the Shek, but yeah they are not afraid of using labor.
how do i fight bandits early on then?
>The game is great because of mods
No
Do what I did and find a wandering assassin, and then save scum trying to stealth KO him till your level is super high, then stealth KO bandits and strip them of weapons and gear before letting them get back up and fight you
You can either fight hungry bandits who use blunt weapons or you can heal bit by bit while running away, if you have more yellow than red in your health bar you sometimes heal when knocked out instead of losing hp
Stay near the Hub/any other friendly settlement, when you see them lure them in, let the fight commence, jump in and get a few hits and level up, rinse and repeat
Short answer is you don't. The whole concept of kenshi is that you're just another character same as them so if your stats are lower than theirs then you lose. You'll have stats better than bandits very quickly so it's just their numbers you have to worry about. Best advice I can give you is to roleplay. If you were a pleb in nothing but rags with a metal stick you wouldn't charge into a group of 8 bandits solo and try to fight them, you'd avoid them. Play as a hobo/scavenger early on and avoid fair fights. If you see 2 other groups fighting then sneak up and gang up on who's weak or just scavange the battle field while they're busy fighting each other. Eventually when you get a sword and maybe some armour and enough money that you can afford some recruits you'll be able to fight them when there's 3 or 4 of you on your team
so you stopped playing when you lost basically. I hate this meme, but git gud is the only appropriate response. Once you have more people then when your party gets wiped maybe 1 guy will be lucky enough to wake up from unconciousness instead of falling into a coma, and he can save all your guys in comas.
Honestly its a janky masterpiece considering the studio size, the scope is ambitious as hell. If can look past the flaws (and there are a lot of them) its an amazing game with great rp potential if thats you're thing. Its really a paradox, looks and runs like total shit but is beautiful at the same time.
Try it, put 10 hours into it then buy it if you find yourself wanting to carry on.
This exact thing just happened to me yesterday actually. It's a bug and you can fix it by importing your game. Importing the game fixes most bugs btw if you ever encounter others
pirate it & find out retard
>mfw making Beep a master of the katana
I already got him a metiou grade Ninja Blade from those faggots over at the ninja tower.
>Bring bounties to holy shitters
>Fucking faggot gives me shit for wanting the money promised on the poster, 20k for both shits
If you're just going to jew people out of paying then don't offer money on the poster you fucking niggers. As if I don't need enough reason to destroy your asses after starting as a slave in rebirth.
So who is the worst and best of the factions? Shek are faggot UNGA's but they don't seem as bad as holy niggers and united cities kikes.
>Get caught stealing in shekland
>Decide to train my bois
>Pick a fight with bone dogs outside
>Shek retards hate me for this and fuck up Hobbs
>He is slowly bleeding out as I am stuck in jail.
>Try to break out and save him
>Get smashed and unconcious in jail
>Hobbs dies
holy bros are based. Fuck non humans(women and niggers included in this)
