TF2's kept itself alive through being an absolutely solidly designed FPS that's free and still works comfortably(relatively speaking) on modern devices, and still has support via community servers and matchmaking. It helps that there's really been nothing left to supplant or displace it, and if anything kills TF2 it will be itself.

But it is kind of a melancholic thought, one day TF2'll be like all those other shooters out there, not the ones that were sent out to die, but had dedicated communities, back in the era of dedicated servers where people were willing to devote money and resources to make a multiplayer game playable, and now the games if they were just multiplayer titles, are now just a menu to look at an unpopulated server browser. 10, 20 odd years from now and all that might be left of TF2 is the ability to load up with bots.

Yeah, I played the Pyro role through all the parts except the starter video. Few smaller parts like the Scout patrol and the headphones engie. It was basically a collaborative effort from our server. Also played El Mucacho for his Saxxy video.

Basically, if there was a Pyro involved, I got the role.
