I'm trying my best to single tap everything but when it gets too fast I start alternating almost subconsciously. I've started on retarded high dpi and and gradually increased sens to 1.6 because I thought higher is better but then some one posted list of top mouse players and they were playing super low so I changed my shit too and my PP rocketed after few days

I usually play AR9+ on around 5.5-7* maps but when it comes to tech I fail 4* maps.

Regular short streams and stacks haven't been an issue for me in normal maps but if I go to stream practice maps I usually overstream if the map is at my bpm or lover. Obviously understream in anything too fast for me. (if overstreaming is left side of the error bar and under vice versa)

This isn't a particularly hard song, but I ALWAYS tense up on the last segment (Ironically, it's right where the demo starts playing). I have a hard time with clustered notes, I think because they're deceptively close together.

CRT's will cost you a pretty penny, but they're great comfy screens for old games and clarity.

Mania is worth time if you dislike normal osu or can't get a tablet, and osu catch and taiko are both fun, but taiko pretty much requires a drum of some sort.

I used to play osu a lot, but got tired of taking out my tablet and putting it away, so I started mania. It's fun to spend time in, but its biggest problem is a gap in finding good 7 key and 4 key maps, by far - Entozer has a great list on the forums from years ago of beatmaps to start and practice with as you get better, and it's legitimately more satisfying to play 7key than it is 4key.

If you do play mania, never focus too hard on one playstyle of keys - if you only play 4key, you'll only ever be good at 4key, whereas the same goes for 7key. It's fine to take breaks, but the occasional practice is usually required to stay in decent shape. Also, people always have gay skins, but I've been doing relatively fine with the default one.

And finally - you really, absolutely should ignore the ranking system. For some reason, osu is treated less as a game people play for fun or as a tool to practice rhythm and dexterity, and more as one people will just post their accounts so people can try to look cooler than others. I've been playing since late 2011 and I've never set up my account past the basic stage, let alone look at my stats - it's a waste of your time to compare your own personal stats to someone who's been playing for 15 years, anyways.

Also, you can search for english-only songs. There's a vast selection - just remember, there's a lot of beatmap packs that are filled with incredibly hard songs. If I were you, I'd go hunt down older packs or even older individual songs - I'll link a basic osu map I had when I started, and is still my favorite.

As far as hardware goes, this is one of the games that greatly benefits from fast monitors with high refresh rate. Also mech keyboards are a must if you wanna stream fast. Still, none of this will magically improve your skills, practice is the only way.

I started playing this game years ago and got to about 25k rank pretty quickly but after taking a break have never been able to get anywhere near as good as I was. I have not had a play that increased my rank by more than 10 in like 3 years despite still playing regularly and i've fallen to like 60k. I remember starting out with it a long-ass time ago in high-school

It's a great trainer to start, because it teaches you to follow the simple beats at first (and if you're a minor weeb, you can recognize just a few song, which helps) but the biggest is the stamina from it being 10 fucking minutes. It's never absurdly difficult other than one moderate jump near the end, but it's still a damn fine and fun map
