Yeah I kinda know what your saying I only buy games that I actually like for example recently Resident Evil 2 Remake, then DMC 5 and Sekiro but all the other game that take the spot light like Anthem, Metro Exodus, Apex Legends, and basically any Ubisoft games they have a more of a manufactured feeling not a work of art or passion yeah PS2 era was the golden age of gaming but has downgraded since then I mean only a hand full of companies have been making traditional Single player games. I mean we all remember the 7th generations of consoles and what Japanese companies did in that time Capcom, Square Enix they all took a massive misstep to appeal to the west and lost their identity in the process. Luckily those 2 including and a few other's got their act together for the most part. But in the meantime almost every other company double downed on the on the drab live service after live service cookie cutter by the books game design something that any 1st year game designer could come with at least there still people who make normal games and the indie scene is also keeping thought, creativity and overall originality in the gaming market.

Not OP, but I believe that if a remake/port actively cuts content from the base game, then the base game is always the way to go. A game like TWEWY should always be played on the DS, for example, shit was literally designed for its dual screens. You can't just port a game like that without cutting out half the gameplay, you know.

But seriously twenty years ago I had my SNES with only 4 games, if I hadn't discovered emulation I wouldn't play much more games from that system. Later on I'd play a game on emu just to see if it's a good enough game to have as a physical copy. There are still games too expensive to buy real deal, like Rendering Ranger for example so emulation is still a valid option. This binary reasoning is faulty and I despise anyone that clings to extremes.

Not too long back, SNES emulators had trouble emulating Kirby's Dreamland 3. Cloudy sections either had weird artefacts or lagged.

That doesn't contradict anything, there will be examples of games that works on original hardware and not on emulator, and then you will have game that works fine on emu but is too expensive for most of the people. You know, whatever works
