3x3 outlined in Purple. Thief Gold is moving very slowly. I definitely like it but I think my brain isn't built for the kind of game it is.
3/3 (DMC4SE, Astro Boy, Brawl); Brawl is definitely the weakest Smash but it's still a good game and its existence lead to PM so I can't say I didn't like it.

I might be unreasonably harsh on 2 because NGB is one of my favourite games of all time, so I went into it with very high expectations. When I played 3 I was already expecting the worst after not liking 2

Definitely. It takes more after the first with fighting small squads of enemies than vanilla 2's onslaughtive hordes. Enemies are how you expect in NG but will block and parry a lot more here. New mechanic here where enemies glow red as they try to grab and you can time the heavy attack right and chain instant kills. Kinda faceroll, but boy does it feel great. It carries the gimmicky level design problems from the OG 3 though. Attacks in this one I feel way more sense of weight than the rest of the series so that'll be a love or hate.

Why do you prefer NGB to 2? In my opinion, 2 is better where it counts (combat). I actually firmly believe NG2 is the best action game ever created. I can understand preferring NGB if you like exploration or puzzles, but who plays Ninja Gaiden for those?
