How the fuck do I protect the transport when there's SAM sites at 17 fucking locations. By the time I've taken out half of them, the other half are fucking the Colonel. Playing on Hard btw.
Ace Combat 7 Mission 10
jesus fucking christ OP, that mission is easy as fuck with any plane even on Ace, follow the missiles trail and keep an eye on planes closing in on the transport
This
pick a fast plane, anti-ground missiles, and some parts to increase plane speed and range of missiles. to get the ace to spawn you need to destroy them all before harling is damaged, and i managed it on hard. it's not too bad with the right plane just like 90% of the missions people complain about in this game. at least you're not bitching about mission 9.
>at least you're not bitching about mission 9
not him, but doing that mission on any difficulty and trying to get an S is the definetely hardest thing on the game. but still, what you said is true, using the right plane with the right missile and upgrades do half the job on that one
yeah trying to get S rank is hard, but just completing it is only difficult on Ace, and that's because you get literally half a second out of the clouds before a missile is launched.
I did it. Dogfighting the UAV at the end in a fucking a-10 wasn't fun. I can't be fucked to grind for speed parts, so I'll take that B for now.
>but just completing it is only difficult on Ace
true
i did this mission on hard with the a-10
On normal, at least on my case, one missile hit the transport and I still managed to get the ace to spawn.
I wouldn't mind getting shitty ranks on the first run, the game is fun enought to play again. I think I did at least 5 sorties on every mission to get the plat and had fun every time
should add what constitutes a fast plane.
>mig-31, obviously. fastest boy but cannot into turn, and has shit anti-ground options
>F-15C, still very fast, but much better selection of weapons and can use pewpew PLSL which is OP in nearly every situation.
>F-22, fast as fuck but soulless. correct choice for people who don't like spicy food.
>YF-23. patrician version of the F-22. bigger, sexier, and carries HVAA, and UGBs. weapons for true aces.
can't think of any other particularly speedy planes.
this. i only got one S rank on my first normal playthrough, but got majority S on my hard and Ace ones. made replaying to get all the S ranks a lot more fun because i only had to do a few asspain missions on Ace, then a few more on Hard, and then when i got back to normal i basically replayed the entire campaign but with top tier upgrades making S ranks ez.
Good to know. I'm still pretty early in terms of my upgrades. Pretty much just pick a multi role for each mission because even in the bombing ones I have no idea if some big boy Ace is gonna come try and feed me my own dick.
Git gud lmao, or use a non-shit plane that flies somewhat fast instead of whatever the fuck you're using. Haven't failed this mission once
Imagine being bad at Ace Combat lol
imagine thinking you gave good advice but literally just repeating what had already been said.
Sounds good.
Minus the fact that you take the same damage from missiles across all difficulties, I’m glad they boosted the difficulty in more interesting ways than just making everything a one-hit kill
same, but i do kinda miss the intensity of the old games where you knew one mistake would be the end of you. still, it's better this was to be honest.
What's the best set-up for mission 8? Playing hide and seek in the pollution clouds with the fucking trucks made me rage one or twice. I already finished the game and still find this mission the most bullshitty one.
Are you sure? I tried easy once and I think I could tank three or four missiles.
You can usually tank three on hard, so maybe not the same but also pretty far from a one hit kill
I was under the impression that one missile in normal put you right under 50%, but I might have shit for brains.
I bought this game and i can't fucking figure out the controls.
I did it with the Gripen E with bombs and it was easy, the dogfight was fun too
it's less about the plane and more about how you approach it. that being said, the Rafale or Gripen with LACMs is very useful as you can fire at the trucks when you're a long way away, then follow the red missile target when they vanish from radar, as it does not disappear until your cruise missile impacts the target. also good are 4AGMs as you can get all three trucks on one pass usually. having a fast plane helps too as you can blast it to the next trucks and save some time there.
the biggest tip i can give for the trucks though, is to zoom out your map one level and use the contour lines to remember where the radars are once they disappear, it's much easier than using the default map or the fully zoomed out one. oh and if you stay below the sandstorm the drones won't be able to get you, and the trucks will also appear when you're reasonably close.
here's a map that helps too.
All that you really need to remember is up on the D-pad to target the closest primary target, and down on the d-pad to target the closest enemy.
whoops forgot pic
wait what. is this fucking true??
Don't fall for the attack plane meme
Thanks for the advice. It's mostly what I did to get past it, except I only had the slow as fuck a-10c at that point to bomb the first phase in time.
I wish.
>bringing an A-10 when the briefing explicitly stated it'll be a multirole mission
The drone isn't even that hard with an A-10, it beelines you constantly
the A-10 with UGBs is a beast for the first part.
Yeah, but not so for the second.
I just beat the whole game and I didn't know this. FUCK
>Some people went into the tunnel so fast they didn't get to hear Count's "stick with Trigger and you'll make it
Sorry, I lied. But I wish it was true
I can't even fly the damn plane. I didn't want to be a scrub so I started with the "advanced" control scheme or whatever. Does it just come with practice?
Play on expert controls, use chaff and flares (R3+L3) if you can't out-turn a missile, use high-g turns (R2+L2 while turning) to turn faster, hold Y/Triangle to padlock view enemies to dogfight them easier
yes you'll get used to it, the novice controls make the game harder since they lock you out of certain features that make the later fights more manageable
To turn the plane, you just have to roll 90 degrees in the direction you want to go, and then press up to effectively turn that way. During dogfights, you just follow the arrow pointing toward your target, once again rolling left or right until the arrow point up and then pressing up to turn this way very fast until you can fill it full of missiles. Oh, and check from time to time that you're not plunging towards the ground very very fast.
>During dogfights, you just follow the arrow pointing toward your target, once again rolling left or right until the arrow point up and then pressing up to turn this way very fast until you can fill it full of missiles
This is the best way to overshoot your target and get caught in an endless circle-turn. You're supposed to padlock view your enemy to see where he's headed as you turn into him
>press up
Pitch up by pulling down
