You unlock a sort of endless mode in the future. Your gaming time from then until forever will consist entirely of whittling it away from time to time whenever you feel like playing it again.
The only way you're playing with other people is if you make friends or just that discord.

I bought it over the summer. It was pretty cool that they allowed you to transfer characters over and play with the people playing the PS3/vita version. I thought the rerelease would make the multiplayer more lively but it didn’t.
