Reminder to train against bosses that usually end your pantheon runs in the hall of the gods. Much better to spend time replaying the parts you actually struggle with until you can beat them consistently rather than always chugging at the same part in your pantheon run.

If you get good enough to beat the bosses' Ascended or Radiant difficulty versions, fighting them in the pantheon proper without double or 1HKO damage buffs should feel like a breeze in comparison.

I'm trying to progress through the pantheons.
Yesterday, I failed pantheon 3 like 10 times in a row.
Today, I got it on my first try.
Next step is to get the bindings, and then try for pantheon 4.
I have a severe shortage of git gud tho, and it's kicking my ass.

I am, but as soon as it hits second phase, some of the hits they land are riduclously quick. It always feels like the boomerang attack during the second phase gets hits too easily, even when I'm in the middle and it shouldnt touch me.
City of tears was a breeze for me, and most of Soul Sanctum, so I figured i was making progress.

You can avoid slow doube disk by standing exactly in the middle of arena, but if you aren't sure, healing/looking down actually makes your hitbox smaller.

I figured I needed to look down, since when your on your last life, you tilt down a little, making the hitbox more bearable. It just seems a bit obtuse considering most of the fight is straightforward

You don't have to look down if you align yoursef perfectly, bowing just gives you more room for error. You can also just go to the side of the arena under them and then jump over when they return.

not him. i had to put it down and come back the next day after an hour of trying. then i whipped his ass after a couple of tries. crystal guardian pissed me off more than that spirit asshole. spent a lot of time grinding the dream trees and got two more pale stones for the second nail upgrade. after that the infected knight before the monarch wings was piss easy.
i'm stuck on watcher knight because i had to put it down and go to work, but i know i just have to focus on timing, i almost had a couple times, but i get greedy/sloppy near the end. i had the same problem in dark souls.

You get the ability to go through shadow gates in the Abyss, after you defeat Hornet in Kingdom's Edge.
Also, mantis traitors in Queen's Gardens don't give a shit about bowing to you, even if you beat their old lords.

The idea is they were sealed in those black eggs with tubes going into them you find in the Abyss. "That place where it was born, where it died" implies vessels died before they became filled with void, as opposed to being born with void inside.

I have all the charms and upgrades. I started Godhome for the first time last week have been playing for a few hours a day on challenges. Just beat pantheon 3 yesterday and got all the way to the Pure vessel my first time through 4 before getting fucking wrecked. Here's my progress so far. I run with Dashmaster, Mark of Pride, Quickslash , and Unbreakable Strength.

It's possible that Hornet was put into a type of stasis by the Weavers before they fucked off from Hallownest which explains the pretty large time discrepency.
We find a seal of binding inside a room in deepnest filled with weaver shit along with the spiderbro charm, and an uninfected weaver leaves the room just before you.

Hornet was the 'child of three queens' in the early concept.
Born from Herrah, Raised by White lady, Trained by vespa.
Vespa doesnt kill herself, she dies for unknown reasons, the part about "All things must end" was about hallownest being fucked.
The hive goes to shit because vespa didnt leave an heir, so it's basically braindead.

Soul Tyrant, along with many of the tougher bosses, follow some conventions that you see in games like Dark Souls and the like. Essentially, instead of always attacking, or backing away to heal, you have to look out for moves with blatant openings and act accordingly.

Moves like his dash across the screen, you can easily jump, strike down, and prepare. For moves like the rotating soul ball attack, you need to learn how to get through it, and with practice, you'll discover there are openings you can follow him, and attack several times, OR you can hop through and heal before they fly back through.

Otherwise though, never get too greedy. Even if you only hit him occasionally, it's more important to focus on avoiding damage than outdamaging him like you can earlier bosses. If you keep getting hit, then never be afraid to just pussy fight the whole time until you get dodging down on lock, and when you consistantly avoid harm, then you can find ways to inject damage back in.

She might just be that old, without any spells involved. The Pale King was allegedly immortal, so his child would probably have a very long natural lifespan.
The timescale in general makes little sense. Lemm talks about the 5 knights and the Hollow Knight as if it's ancient history, but 2 of the knights are still alive and not even old, and plenty of people seem to remember Hallownest before the plague.

I was in the same boat.

Fortunately, as overwhelming as he is, Grimm's attacks are actually shockingly formulaic. They hit hard and come out fast, but you will eventually learn where to go for each attack to dodge it, and then you can learn how to attack.

You can follow my other post here for general hints. Even if you go a few rounds without attacking (although certain attacks DO require you to attack-pogo to keep out of harms way) just to familiarise yourself, it's time well spent.

Fortunately Grimm also has a highly exploitable attack to go ham with, namely his fire pillar attack. Once you learn how to bait the four pillars so the last one ends with you near him, then smack him with abyss shriek.

NKG seems harder at first because his attacks come out so fast, but once you learn his tells the fight just becomes a chip damage fest. My tip would be stand in the middle of the arena. Where he appears telegraphs the next attack he'll do, but it takes some getting used to. If he spawn close in the air it will be the dive kick into dash, if he appears a further distance away it's the flame pillars. If he appears close on the ground its the side dash into shoryuken. Dodging that one is a bit tricky at the end because the fire opens a spot behind him which goes against the instinct to dodge away. If he shows up far on the ground its the Dracula Castlevania fireballs. Sometimes hell appear close like he's going to shoryuken but hell dash back and fireball, but this is rare.

Pale king didn’t view the hollow void children as his actual descendants until he grew too attached to the HK. Hornet was his actual “real” child. He didn’t have any plan for her beyond her being his direct descendant.

You should do the charged slash instead when he performs that attack. The nail art charge up time reduction charm is great for NKG.

Yes The Radiance infection is what's causing him to attack you, but he knows why you're there since he was also a vessel. That's why he shows up at the end of the Radiance fight. If you notice he damages himself when he stabs himself.

I just got the dreamer in deepnest. I haven't gotten the other two yet. I just unlocked the sewers, and I have access to a few different spots. I have the up A spell, down A shadow spell (what does shadow do different?), two sword arts, and upgraded to spiral nail. How far am I into the game? I feel like I'm just past 50% but at the same time, it could be a lot more.

Without spoilers, which zone should I go next? Sewers, the zone east of the city, or the area thats... under the sewers on the map.

someone in a thread yesterday said to try descending dark when she's above me so i can dodge her sword spam/light beams attack, but when i use it, knight jumps in the air and gets hit. how am i supposed to use descending dark against her?

iirc the iframes only start when the knight starts falling
depending on what she uses it may be too slow

Same as me, except I did the first three pantheons first try. Then again, I did my steel heart playthrough right before I started, so my reflexes were on point.
I keep mixing up my charms, but I don't have a reliable way to beat PV. NKG is next on my list once I figure that out, but it's been a year since I fought him and I am not confident. Radiance should be a breeze though, and after that I just need the 5 hour speedrun and I'm at 100%.

Long time together I wager. While he obviously treated all the failed vessels as mere tools to be disposed, he personally raised HK to absolute perfection, but accidentally started loving his own creation during that long process.
