As someone who was around in 2011 and all threads talked about was how the more powerful system with the larger higher resolution screen was going to absolutely analy rape the 3DS with its shitty gimmick screen and $250 price tag, all I have to say is

In the U.S. It was still being made in Japan. It's 100% dead now.

If shitposting is to be believed the Vita has been dead since it came out, since that's all people had to say, yet now it's "dead for real" this time?
Despite everyone's concerted best efforts it ran its course anyway and shall continue to just as it has been.
What comes next for it is a different discussion, regardless of it being made anymore.
If you think that was bad you should have seen PSP vs DS. PSP was actually a decent handheld too, yet the DS dicked it even harder than 3DS did Vita.

Sure, but it was successful and it's dead because it got a successor, Vita was quickly killed off by Sony discontinuing their whole handheld line. That it's only ended production now is misleading since they had been producing extremely few units for years.
But 2 MH games were announced for the 3DS before Vita was even released. Capcom really made sure everybody knows that MH won't be coming to the Vita before it even came out. So there's nothing to shitpost about the 3DS in 2011.
