Even the Code Patch which is one of the most important things for Morrowind is old and outdated.

I actually am replaying it for the first time in like a decade. Still one of my all time favourites.

I'm playing with minimal mods, I don't see the sense in falling into the trap of spending 100 hours modding instead of actually playing the game. Just MGE for widescreen and draw distance, unofficial patch for bugs and Morrowind Comes Alive for a few more NPCs to bulk out the game world. It's so good, feels like coming home. Rediscovering all the lore, exploring this crazy alien fantasy world, swinging and missing at an endless stream of cliff racers. Truly kino.

I'm creating a "mahou shoujo" style character. She'll have a powerful destruction spell, probably a ranged attack causing weakness to magic and health damage in the hundreds over several seconds. She will "transform" by quickly using multiple magic clothes in sequence, each buffing her intelligence and destruction skills, which will make her just strong enough to cast it for a few seconds. This will be used on the toughest opponents, and beyond that, she'll mostly use magic to avoid or pacify enemies, or just run away and shoot them with her shortbow. She'll probably always have low strength and endurance, so avoiding close combat will always be required.

I can't decide on a few skills though. I have Athletics and Acrobatics because she's nimble and somewhat athletic, but maybe one of those should be replaced with Unarmored. Then again, Unarmored still requires being hit to raise it/for it to work, and I'll be focusing on physically avoiding hits. I also kinda feel like Mysticism should be in there.

Though I have Sneak and Marksman, she won't be a stealth archer, the sneak is just for avoiding bad guys. What do you think? I'm hoping this playstyle will be difficult, but not tedious.

Yes. I use amod which slightly increases res of vanilla textures and like I said MGE which adds some nicer shaders, but that's it really. Oh, Better Heads and Bodies, too.

Grind your IRL speechcraft skill and level up your personality attribute to the point where you will be able to acquire friends.
If you can't do that then you could go find or even develop an artificial intelligence that will act as your friend.

I wonder if something would be good for Oblivion... problem with Oblivion texture mods is that many things like grass, roads, and distant land need NEW textures, not just higher res ones.

That's clearly the bitter coast though. The ascadian isles isn't swampy like that in vanilla Morrowind; it's coated with a lush green grass and there's lots of colorful flowers, farms and plantations, and of course big mushrooms. If that said "ascadian isles" on your map then you must have been right at the border to the bitter coast.
