Hitbox issues, useless characters, extremely overpowered weapons like Wingman.

But the most annoying part for me is a shit performance, fucking shit game is based on SOURCE engine but it works at 80-100 fps with all low settings and full HD on my PC (8700k+GTX980+16GBDDR4-3200).

Quake Champions, Overwatch, Paladins all could maintain 160+ FPS without any issues, but not fucking Apex Legends.

Just played it with low expectations and had a lot of fun. I had to disable 2 cores due to known issue with FX 6300 AMDA Processors but since have had no issues with crashing or lag.

Fast paced and fun as fuck. I really like how movement and posistioning is important. I’ve been playing nothing but quake live too so I adapted quick. Got into a lot of good gun fights that relied on quick thinking.

Any time some random person downloads their game client to give it a go or a random netcafe gets a one-time login (popular in China), they count it as a player.
The netcafe count is particularly misleading because it can count the same person upwards of 30 times.
Riot also boasts "x concurrent players" failing to mention that it's not literally x concurrent players, it's x logged in accounts.
The launcher is set up so it's logged in automatically when your computer starts and you count as an "Active player" even though you sure as hell aren't.

Even with all that, 50mil? Fuck off. That's more people than use Amazon. Diablo 3, Mario Odyssey, and Black Ops all hit about 10mil around this time after launch. Those are well-known franchises with tons of advertising.

I've done 10 of these so far and there's some kind of memory leak or something at the netcode level that fucking tanks performance at the beginning during the drop sequence.

I have a 1080ti and a 7700k and my shit drops to 90FPS for the first minute or so of the game. The rest I get a solid 1080p144. Gigabit fiber and still have these network issues.

They're using amazon for the backend which I think is the problem. Titanfall 2 never had this issue and it used Azure.

In China, netcafes are immensely popular as a way of playing games. What happens is that for each cafe with however many computers, each of them downloads whatever the latest popular games are, typically with a guest account.
Now, I have no idea if EA is doing this but I know Riot does. Whenever a new person logs onto that guest account, they count that as a player.
If that same player comes back tomorrow and sits at a different computer in the same cafe, they count him again as another new player, because it's a different guest account.
If you ever see someone claim "30mil people play this game!" this is what's happening. It's counting the same guy multiple times because he uses multiple different computers.

like I said in a previous post I think the biggest issue is the AWS backend.

another user brought up map size and I think that's what is the biggest problem for them. They have to serve the location and shot-vectors to everyone in the server at the same time. That's why you'll get slowdown or shittier hit detection earlier in the match.

My squad I play with has actually just started to try and drop in locations that are least populated and wait out the first 4-5 squad deaths and the hit detection drastically improves.

Respawn should really just make the game 30 players total and reduce the island size to 2/3 and the game would be way more playable with their current tech

I'm disassembling their protocol right now, shit's going to get interesting once I figure out how to fuck with character location lookup/update. The server does a hash-check every couple of seconds to ensure the client isn't sending false shit. Thing is, this can be manipulated from in-between the client and server by replacing every packet's location data with zeros and forcing the client to retransmit. Hitscan and location are consumed SEPARATELY which means you can shoot from some place that you aren't showing up as in the server.

the number of players doesn't really mean anything because as someone has already said, the majority of these players are probably checking in to see the game which is is free and promoted as such. sites like roblox, club penguin and habbo would also pull in great numbers and this was when paid streamers didn't exist and youtube was still small and independent.

the movement was taken away like the slides because the devs said it would take away from the gameplay and fun. I'm not going to go into it but the devs explained why on day 1 when apex released.

the gunplay is the actual issue. Its really good and better than other games but it used RNG spread instead of csgo patterns like in apex which is NIGHT and DAY. Also they really fixed a lot of the designs of the gun sights which were too bright and such and those attachments are no longer seen in apex.

tf3 will have the movement back except even better so I don't really consider the movement at all but apex does it way better as well. Running and sliding alone is WAY smoother. in tf2 its run to 10mph then slide into 12mph smoothing back into 10 and thats it. In apex those numbers are way more dynamic and faster. I just installed and completed the tf2 story mode yesterday. I'd say give it a try right after playing a game on apex.

I'm not shitting on tf2 but the people who are mad that they worked on apex instead of straight to tf3 are silly to not see how much of a beta test apex has become and improved greatly already on tf2. This just makes tf3 stronger.
