Dissidia NT

Buy Lightning's game.

>buy
It's free.

Not if you want to play Lightning all the time!

Whats the catch? Are Lightning's armpits censored?

I love Lightning!

PS4 version?

What about it? If you're asking whether PS4 will get the free version too, yes, but you need PS Plus to play online.

It's Noctis' game though.
Well to be precise, the main trio is Wol, Lightning and Noctis.

F2P version doesn't let you play single player, use alternate weapons or alternate costumes and you can only use 4 characters that rotate each week.
You can upgrade to Standard which is same as PS4 retail version with everything but DLC unlocked, or upgrade to Deluxe which is Standard + Season Pass.
"Free" is basically quite literally a demo.

I'm too much of a brainlet to understand how to play this.

But Lightningfags will help keep this thread alive. You gotta think practically.

This isn't even as complicated as something like Dota which millions of literal retards can understand "well enough".

No way.

This game is fucking shit. They should never have made another Dissidia without Mitsunori.

The game is good though.

I can't play this pint sized murder machine though

>Less attack options than the PSP games.
>No alternative movesets/arenas for 1v1, so that ends up playing like ass.
>Team objectives are garbage and detract from experience.
>Single player content is a joke even compared to PSP's shitty modes.

You can have a better time emulating Duodecim.

The team aspect is what makes it good though. Anyone who thinks adding a 1v1 mode would be a good idea is a literal brainlet without the slightest idea of how the game works.

Still no best FF character

Exdeath has been in the game for a long time now user

The PSP 1v1 was better designed than NT's 3v3. This isn't an uncommon opinion, and is a big part of why the game utterly flopped on PS4. They could have copy-fucking-pasted the PSP battle system and animations and it would have been a better game. Also
>adding a 1v1 mode
You can already 1v1, jackass, it's just shit.

A
FUCKING
TREE

It really wasn't, that's just an opinion held by retarded casuals who just wanted to look at pretty colors and grind for a thousand hours against the retarded AI. Plenty of competitive Duodecim players moved to NT and still play it regularly.

>Tranny Cloud
No.

>retarded casuals
Translation
>I-it didn't fail! I-its just the lame casuals abandoning ship! Us real gamers are enjoying it just fine!

Game's fucking dead on console, and this "free" shit is Square's attempt to squeeze some money out of it outside of the thriving arcade scene. Problem is most people didn't buy NT because of its demo. The game is shallow as fuck and plays like ass. There's plenty of superior options for team based multiplayer out there, and most of the fanbase was excited for a unique fighting game instead. It holds no value for anyone but the most desperate of fans. It only works in arcades, where it's that weird spectacle you and some friends pop some yen into every two months or so when they drop another new character.

Game's shit, man.

The game has more depth than 2 hours of play against bronze rank shitters would suggest, shocking I know.

Good point. Gotta target the autism.

Is it fun?

If you like team based games, yes.

I'd much prefer my tiny wife Shantotto to be mine for life.

Ah yes, the
>No really it gets good after 1000 hours I promise!
argument.

If your multiplayer game takes more than five hours to have fun, it isn't worth playing. Street Fighter presents you with quality the second you pop in your quarter. A MOBA takes an hour to get the hang of at most. I gave the game a fair shot, and just like most people, I came away with the impression that it plays like shit. Even if high level play somehow magically made up for my limited options and awful controls, why waste my time hoping to get a good match in a dead game that's this impenetrable? What dies it have to offer me that I haven't seen and done before?

I get it. Your game is dead and you need to convince more people to play it. But this pretense of the distaste merely being casuals rather than the game itself being shitty is ridiculous.

No Gaius van Baelsar, no buy.

>Game's fucking dead on console
I can find matches with no issue at higher ranks, at most times of day. Obviously it's not going to be the same for every region, but the issue isn't the lack of a playerbase, it's the garbage rank system that requires a nonstop influx of new players to keep low ranks populated.

Nah, you get Alphinaud's autistic sister instead.

Just like a complete newbie sitting down with Street Fighter for an hour and claiming that it's shallow because all their opponent did was spam hadoken and they didn't know how to deal with it, you're retard for claiming that the game is shallow based on your very limited experience. I'll humor you though, explain to me what's wrong with the game's mechanics.
>Your game is dead
It's not though, it's niche and has a small playerbase like any other niche game, but it has a passionate community behind it and anyone willing to engage with the community can find lag-free lobbies to play in. Even ranked is fairly active at peak hours, far more so than most fighting games' matchmaking systems a year after launch.

That's a funny way of spelling "perfect", user.

Attached: 1547120394439.jpg (1200x1200, 187K)

Opera Omnia is more fun though

Not really.

>buy a dead game that's a downgrade from an 8-year-old PSP game in every single way except graphics
alright

Yes really.

>Autistic

She's not autistic. Yshtola is autistic.

No, it's really not. The score mechanic (combined with the increasingly strict requirements) is fucking shit and invalidates a huge part of the cast because you can't reach some arbitrary number and there isn't much variety in fights, just one kinda maybe unique (but usually not) mechanic for a boss that might potentially make a shit character shine for that one fight if you're lucky. Mostly it's just a very dull game.

>8-year-old PSP game
I refuse to believe it's been that long.

I'm talking about duodecim too, the original is 10 years old.

Do you genuinely miss assists and EX Revenge? Because I sure don't, assists in particular made 012 way worse than the first game if you ask me. I don't even plat NT but 012 felt like the big step backwards. At least Prishe and Gilgamesh were fun.

Jesus christ

I just bought this game (for ps4) right before this announcement. I plan to main Noctis, Squall and maybe either snow or rinoa. Is this a decent team since they added the whole class system for balance? Also, how "hard" is squall's triggers online?

Assists were fucking broken with some characters and you had basically no reason not to set up accessories so you recovered a fuckton of your assist bar every time you landed an attack. Despite all that they could be fun to fuck around with. I wouldn't say I "miss" them but I'd still take them over that NT shitshow without a doubt.

>good
>3v3 battles
Absolutely retarded

Every character is viable in ranked (arguably even in competitive) so just play whoever you like. Squall's trigger mechanic has a 3 frame window per trigger so don't expect to get it perfectly every time even without lag. I barley get Squall at all and in not particularly lag online matches I usually pull off about one trigger per combo so you should get it fairly consistent in relatively stable matches. With mcdonald's wifi users it's another story though.

Almost every match is a bunch of bots because no one plays it.

I have good internet at my place and I play LAN so sounds like it may not be AS bad as I thought it could be. Is the team structure paramount? As in, ok to use characters I like or more beneficial to use a more balanced team?

Looks like a naruto arena fighter with the aestethics of a korean MMO.

>Mostly it's just a very dull game.
Just like NT

No Edda, no buy

>I can't keep track off more than one thing on my screen
And you call others retarded.
Not true, diamond and up queue tends to be mostly people at the hours I play at least. There's always community lobbies too.
You don't choose your team, you queue with one character and get paired with other players queuing with their characters.
Nah.

>You don't choose your team, you queue with one character and get paired with other players queuing with their characters.
Really? What about offline? I have assumed you picked a team of 3 based on some level of strategy and 2 were just AI or something. That is interesting, but I can imagine it sucks when there isnt anyone to play with online.

Like I just said, higher ranks are populated but lower ranks suffer because of a poorly balanced ranking system. You don't start losing close to as much you earn until Mythril (4th highest), and if you play a lot you're likely to naturally hit Diamond (3rd highest). Diamond is the point where it actually becomes difficult to climb, leaving the lower ranks abandoned, and new players don't want to stick around hoping for other new players.

You don't play this game for the offline, trust me, but if you miraculously enjoy playing against and with bots team comp is the last thing you need to worry about. Frankly put, the bots are retarded and don't do their job anyway.

I heard is worse than the PSP games, so no.

It's like comparing apples and oranges.

>I can't keep track off more than one thing on my screen and you call others retarded.
Fighting game where you cannot win by your own skill and need to cheer for other idiots to do their jobs. How fun.
>Not true, diamond and up queue tends to be mostly people at the hours I play at least. There's always community lobbies too.
Now good luck facing bots in lower ranks because no one starts in diamond right at the beginning, does it? Only those who play are still fanboys who have not dropped the bone of this dead game.
>You don't choose your team, you queue with one character and get paired with other players queuing with their characters.
Nothing to say.

I understand. Is there any benefit to playing a bit offline for the sake of "learning" characters or (due to the fact that you say AI is dumb) should I just try online and "learn" that way. I have played the previous psp games so I am familiar with the battle system a bit.

>It's like comparing apples and oranges.

a fresh apple (PSP games) with a rotten orange (NT).

I mean the fucking mobage was more fun than what I have played of NT.

oranges taste better and are better for you.

>free to play
what's the catch?

I hope the free versions bring in more players.

Matchmaking is fucking stupid in these sorta games. I sure love waiting to find people to play with just for the game to put me against bots rather than choosing opponents from a list like the lobbies allow.

Is there any system in place to save up and buy characters permanently?

Teamwork is also a skill.
>Now good luck facing bots in lower ranks because no one starts in diamond right at the beginning
I was getting people on my silver alt just a few days ago too and free edition players will have each other to play against in the lower ranks, not to mention that if there's no crossplay
No, NT is a lot of fun.
Free version has 4 characters in rotation and some stuff locked.

The F2P version isn't out on console or PC yet so we don't know, but most likely not since they will want people to upgrade to full version.

See
It's not really F2P, it's a demo.

>not to mention that if there's no crossplay
shit, that got cut off somehow. If there's no crossplay veterans will start at bronze too so low ranks will be more than alive at launch.

>what's the catch?

if you play the f2p version your selection of characters you can play is on a rotation and if you want to keep characters you have to pay for them

your posts scream "I'M RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG" no matter what people say when listing complaints about NT

On PC I mean. Typing between nonstop lobby matches with little downtime so I'm not really paying attention.

I only hope we can save edit ranks and unlocks on PC so I don't have to grind bullshit to just play story in one go.

Yeah, I'm sure the guy who probably hasn't touched the game since launch or the open beta knows the ranked experience better than me who's still actively playing.

I really enjoy the game but it does everything possible to not let me play with others online.

The matchmaking is shit and the lobbies are always locking me out because I’m apparently the only person playing in britbongland and every room is set to their region only.

What the fuck?
I didn't even know it was coming to PC, let alone in about a week. I'll try out the free version and then decide whether I want to buy it or not.
Do any of you anons have opinions on it? How does it stack up against 012?

>or the open beta

that was enough to tell me that this game was going to be dosgshit

>Do any of you anons have opinions on it? How does it stack up against 012?

It's a complete downgrade compared to 012.

>no character customization
>single player story is barebones
>game is built around 3v3 battles so any 1v1 fights feel badly designed

If you're not one of those anti-Discord people, there's an EU community that hosts daily lobbies.

It’s different.

It's nothing like 012 so I wouldn't go in expecting that.

Main issue is lack of 1 vs 1.
You can play 1 vs 1 in custom mode only (that literally nobody online plays) but it's imbalanced and broken as shit since the maps and characters are only balanced for 3 vs 3 so in 1 vs 1 the gameplay just breaks in very unfun ways.
As for the game itself, it's very different from 012 and in my opinion a massive step down.
The focus on hectic 3 vs 3 and characters having access to LITERALLY ONLY 1 (ONE) HP attack (but you get 2 more Brave attacks) is just insulting.

>Plenty of competitive Duodecim players
Kek, the "competitive fanbase".

Game went free to play already? Damn I knew it was bad from the demo, but still.

Attached: 1550676400086.png (756x565, 879K)

I shouldn’t have to use something else to find players in this game. It should work the way I want it to. I am the king. I am the 2nd coming. Abbajaberabbaakabaa.

Yeah, the people who actually appreciated the PSP games for their mechanics rather than the mindless grinding.

It's a shitty game that bombed so they are trying to salvage sales with an f2p version or a few extra sales.

>the people who actually appreciated the PSP games for their mechanics
But all I've seen "competitivefags" do is shit on the PSP games for being "unbalanced". Thankfully their opinion was useful and the competitively viable new Dissidia managed to beat classic Dissidia's 7.5 million (2.3 actually bought the game) playerbase, right?
>200k console sales last year
Oh...........

Ignore the brainlets. Great competitive game with responsive controls, strategic teamplay and high mobility. The only people who genuinely dislike are PSP fags who are pissed the better core game is available sans the RPG shit that made the original an unbalanced mess.

>Ignore the brainlets.

legitimate complaints make them brainlets?

Your point? Less mass appeal =/= worse game.

>buy the worst Dissidia
no

I find Dissidia NT hella fun and don't regret my purchase at all. Is there something wrong with me?

Same.

Yes. You like games. You do not belong here.

Your loss user.

>Shitters complain squalls trigger input is to hard
>They nerf the input a tad AND the damage
>Shitters dtill cant do them and the rest of us who actually took the time to learn it are punished

Doing triggers is so satisfying. It's honestly relaxing to do after the stress of more difficult combos in traditional fighting games.

Yea Forums forgot one of the worst faults on NT: they scrapped out the Ex Burst system and put that shit randomizer summon galore in its place.

>Lightning
Game belongs to Best Tree, cunt

Attached: 1525750465552.png (878x900, 398K)

EX bursts were a trash mechanic.

Yeah, who wants RPG shit in their Final Fantasy game?

Attached: 1447568785104.jpg (878x592, 235K)

I hate NT but ex bursts were fucking dumb.

Please delete this, Mega Man is a wholesome boy, Auto is the shitposter in Light Labs

The RPG shit in the PSP games wasn't very well done desu.

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE

WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRY user
