Alright alright alright, Destiny 2 is finally getting its shit together

Alright alright alright, Destiny 2 is finally getting its shit together.

How many of you will be jumping in? In all seriousness I love this game, and I think it's in a very good spot right now.

fucking cashgrab "chroma" shit again?
下げる

>pay full price for everything again even though you already own the base game.
Has this changed?
If not, fuck off.

>2 cents have been deposited into your account

It's part of the season pass, this works out at $10 or so. This would bother me more if I hadn't gotten everything excluding said pass as a cheap game key.

Yeah i cant wait for the reset. I do wish for bungie to fix the memory leak on pc finally.

Attached: 1B4DF652-43B5-4E05-9AF6-1EDD7B8851B0.jpg (2686x947, 500K)

those are just new armor sets. with the chroma acting as identifiers for gambit, the red is for invader, one is for point scoring, etc.

i didn't like black armory, but bungie says that joker's wild is going to really set the mood for the annual pass content. and hopefully the choose a side between vanguard and drifter content is good.

I just hope for destiny 3 they get it right with no fuck ups.

Id rather play free Warframe, games is 20 times more fun.

Me

My hope for Destiny 3 is they continue with some of the things we've recently got or heard about, like the role-based armour set perks, and pinnacle weapons for all kinds of activities, like we're getting now. The provide something fun and very rewarding to work towards. Leaning into those RPG mechanics, with a good launch, will work wonders for the franchise.

The Oxygen SR3 looks fucking wild, can I just say? Forget the other two entirely, it'll be good for pretty much everything.

Hey, at least it isn't Anthem. Warframe does look fu

I think a leak a while ago said that they'd be leaning into the RPG mechanics more for 3
This was the same leak that said 3 would be about using both the light and the darkness, which more and more seems to be the direction the story is headed, so I'm somewhat convinced

That's awesome, I'm not surprised that we may be able to interact with the darkness more seeing how Gambit is playing such a big part at the moment.
I still think there's life in D2 though, case in hand this and whatever Penumbra could be. The Leviathan stuff is certainly interesting.

The Annual Pass stuff was originally supposed to be something to add content after the big Y2 expansion, to avoid what happened between The Taken King and Rise of Iron in Destiny 1
So they might stick to the D1 content schedule and do another DLC after the Annual Pass content then an Age of Triumph type event, then release D3 Fall 2020
But then they might also just chnge the original release schedule considering that Bungie's no longer part of Activision or under their contract, so idk
I imagine D3 would come out Fall 2020 though, so D2's probably sticking around for another year and a half

I got it for free back in Nov I think and I enjoyed it quite a bit, if it started to get really good I would start playing against after my little try with it.

Are they going to stop making me do their stupid imbalanced PvP modes to unlock weapons? It sure is fun trying to get new weapons while being put against elite murder squads with perfect gear and a thousand hours played.

I had a friend do that, I think it was a good move on their part. I'm pretty sure it will, so keep an eye for reviews and things and shop around for a cheap way to get the extra content. Trust me, they do exist and are worth it.

I mean the weapons you have to play PvP to unlock are generally only particularly good in PvP
so if you don't want to play PvP after unlocking them, there's not really much point in playing PvP to unlock them

There's a new pinnacle PvP weapon, this bad boy, but as it stands there are other pinnacles to invest in and more to explore outside of PvP. I feel your pain, and aside from fixing shotguns and OEM there sadly hasn't been any news on fixing issues.

Attached: Pinnacle_Chase_The_Recluse.jpg (1920x1080, 664K)

yeah a lot of stuff has been exposed from that leaker.

Europa is goint to be one of the planets. we fight the darkness finally, wielding the darkness and PvPvE content in the open world instead of just gambit.

i see no reason for them to stick to the original content schedule anymore. it hurt them more than it helped them and without the need of pleasing activision's investors there's no reason why they can't take their time and give us a perfect destiny than a profitable destiny.

A primary grenade launcher is only good for PvP?

Europa sounds like good shit, I hope they keep on some of the more unique locations like Titan, and even Nessus. A big PvPvE Tangled Shore would also be really good, I've always thought the version we have now is too small.

Mountaintop is kinetic but still uses special ammo, so it's still a special weapon rather than a primary, and there are a couple of other special grenade launchers
It doesn't do a lot of damage in PvE; it's main appeal is the fact that it fires fast-moving missiles rather than grenades, which isn't particularly useful in PvE considering you're not really going to be worrying about landing shots, and that its direct hits oneshot in PvP, which is obviously only a benefit in PvP

Yes. It's single shot and it's single target damage in PvE is enough to one shot regular ads but not enough to drop orange or yellow bars. A hand cannon or pulse rifle would be better as your PvE primary.

>Gambit focused DLC
>am solo player

LOL

Bungie has really good talent working for them. Every single DLC has had superb CGI Trailer. Even Curse of Osiria looked epic. They know how to false advertise.

>me and my clanmate destroy other clan's murder squads in Iron Banner and I was Light 620
Now I'm almost max light tho

aside from Earth which i think is going to be either Chicago or NY we aren't really going to have any of the D2 content at least in regards to maps. who knows hopefully we get all the planets this time.

Difference appears to be the amount of content versus CoO, as well as the fact the developers have taken a lot of community feedback.
I quite enjoy solo Gambit, when you have an entirely solo lobby there can be some really interesting games. It's not even uncommon that this happens. It's also fairly easy to find a team, and I'm pretty sure it'll be easier as the expansion launchers. I did that, and if its your cup of tea just find people on Discord or something.

Why is it every few months Destiny 2 "gets its shit together"?
Do they spread their shit out again immediately after getting it together? Or do you fuckers get excited and claim their shit is together after every single patch?

I got the full game last month but i didn't play it much.
I don't hate it but for some reason i can't get into it.
Maybe i should continue until endgame to see if the game get better.

Forsaken gathered up most if not all of the shit, which seems to be a unanimous opinion. Since then we've only really had good content, and while it's taken a long time to get to that point, it finally has. And it's a genuinely brilliant game for it.

The endgame is definitely better, the vanilla campaign was never as good as it could have been.

>/d2g/ never leaves its general
>someone says that he is excited for the new expasion in Yea Forums
>instead of let it die fills the thread with "it's just the same cashgrab lmao"

you could let this game die but your retard asses couldn't do it, with Anthem will happen the same, when will you learn to shut the fuck up instead of shilling a shit game.

anyways based Dredgen cucking Yea Forums babeyyyyyyyyy

Attached: destiny2-rap-610-1064350.jpg (610x343, 51K)

How much does it cost to get into Destiny 2 right now and have all the current content?

80 dollars full experience (d2+forsaken+annual pass)
60 with vanilla and forsaken only, i will recommend you that until annual pass ends

Any new fun strikes since then? Heroic strikes?

>Alright alright alright, Destiny 2 is finally getting its shit together.
How? Nothing I see points to this.

>and hopefully the choose a side between vanguard and drifter content is good.
If you are not a shill you are a fucking child. Why in Gods name do you think this will be good? Why do you think it will be any better than what faction wars was?

>Or do you fuckers get excited and claim their shit is together after every single patch?
This. Destiny has the worst fanbase with the worst case of Stockholm syndrome.

Come back to me when Destiny 3 hits. If it captures the feeling their original concept art did I’ll jump in, if not I’ll realize it wasn’t Activision and never look to Bungie again.

I'll play it when I can get the game+DLC for 10 bucks.

/dg/ here don't buy this trash game
only play it if you got it for free

Attached: 1547110493516.png (750x800, 911K)

shill pls fuck off to reddit

The game can fuck right off, especially since I can't transfer my Destiny 1 character to PC. Only a faggot would buy Destiny 2 after the shitshow of the first game.

I was hoping Warframe would grab me but it didn't, it feels more like path of exile than borderlands 2.

Destiny is pretty much Borderlands 2 with better multiplayer.

I love the direction Forsaken took D2, but I'm just not interested in the annual pass even though I like the idea behind it.
Personally I want to play D1 just to get a better idea of the lore and setting, is it still worth it for solo players?

>10 glimmer has been paid into your account

>be me
>see Destiny 2 is literally free on PSN
>go to /dg/ and the subreddit and ask people who played it why they like the game
>"Yo bro I got 120 hours into the game"
>"That's not a reason, why is it good"
>"Yo bro I got 180 hours into the game"
>"Yea that's nice but can you tell me why it's good"
>"Yo bro I got 280 hours into the game"
>"Ok I will pass"

The best I got was a child like "Because I shoot aliens in the face" answer. Literally all the warning signs are there of a shit community and a shit game.

It's still active on PS4, don't know about XB1. Finding raid groups is apparently tricky but possible.

I fell out during the Warmind DLC, and despite hearing nothing but good things about Forsaken, I have 0 interest in coming back. Bungie's fault for leaving such a garbage first impression and expecting me to pay more money just to fix their mistakes.

>claims game is "getting its shit together"
>doesn't even attempt to explain how
kys pathetic bungie shill

Id answer you why i like Destiny, but this post is sadly bait so good luck to you

>Despite all the problems with it, still enjoyed D1's story and lore with Taken King
>All I wanted was more of that from D2
>D2 literally retcons half the lore
>No more Fallen Houses, Cabal are now a single Legion instead of an entire Empire, Vex are back to spooky time machines, Hive are almost completely neutered (YOU KILL A FUCKING WORM GOD BY SHOOTING IT, FOR FUCKS SAKE), Taken at least have the saving grave of Savathun propping them up
>Guardians, characters who up until then had virtually no question of good morality, are labeled as 'oppressive' by the scarf-wearing lesbian for much of the game
>Instead of majorly impactful raids like Regicide and Crota's Fall, D2 Raids consist of Calus sending you on errands across his ship while he sits around being cryptic about the Light
>Newest lore is about some sketchy jackass Light-hating Vanguard traitor running an illegal real-fire arena that shouldn't exist
I played D2 at launch and even bought Warmind but never actually managed to finish it. I don't see a single reason to even reinstall.

The forges were a fucking joke. How many times is Bungie going to serve up reheated horde mode with a minor twist? Is that all Reckoning is going to be?

Attached: DARCI double headshot.webm (1280x720, 2.33M)

Pay me and I'll play. $50 for 2 hours a day.
Otherwise I'm not subjecting myself to shit like that.

Attached: 1550068761568.jpg (318x251, 19K)

>3 months of Gambit oriented content
Shit is going to kill the game worse than Osirus did. Only positives are the welfare light bounties so non-autism players can finally think about doing anything in the end-game.

Crucible still sucks ass, Gambit changes might make a fundamentally flawed as hell game manageable, Raids are dead content for 90% of the playerbase and all added exotic quests are tedium incarnate. So no, Destiny 2 isn’t getting its shit together.

>hopefully

youre acting like activision was the cause of destinys problems when it was confirmed it was bungie

In a world of Battle Royale retardation at least Bungie tried something new with Gabmit.

I like it because i don't shoe-horn myself into PvP or PvE, but for players who hate either of them it's not a great mode.

How was it confirmed Bungie yet? Activision split just a few months ago with them, I don't think they had enough time to change any of their decisions in any significant manner.

youre forgetting the nightmare that was black armoury's release

see you guys are incapable of saying why in detail this game i any good. Its fucking bizarre

Conceptually I like it, in practice it’s hot fucking garbage. It was fun for the first few days, now it’s to be avoided until Bungie forces relevance.

they addressed it this season with the power surge bounties

sure buy me all dlc for 100 dollars

No thanks, I don't need a second job.

Source

I genuinely enjoy Bungies gunplay, its responsive, weighty and actually fun to shoot. There are loads of guns to shoot people with. Dueling is actually fun and its pace is something I can handle unlike something like Titanfall 2 which is too fast for my old addled brain to cope with.

I fucking detest Battle Royales and I am awful at Quake. Theres nothing else to play that will itch both my enjoyment of self set objectives to grind towards and shooting other people.

Supers ruin the crucible. Bungies inability to balance at a normal pace makes people actively avoid it. What most normal players desire is a fairly balanced game where you are not punished for choosing a slightly weaker gun or class. The only thing they seem good at is breaking one thing (Nova Warp is now useless) and replacing it with something even worse (Spectral Blades).

Let's see what we've got here mavericks...

Attached: 1200px-Drifter.jpg (1200x675, 75K)

>he can't play around supers

just jump and juke them lol

Story quest are fucking grindfest garbage.
Lategame raids are fucking autistic.
PVP is broken in it's core and devs just make patches after patches nerfing everything to the ground while core mechanics suck ass.

Spoken like the truest of casuals.

You're wrong about several points lore-wise, but honestly who gives a fuck

>waaah why isnt everything brainfead easy
Shut the fuck up faggot

Super rotations are what decide most high level comp games you fucking mongoloid.

>Supers ruin the crucible.
only roaming supers and well are a problem for minigame

I knocked out Curse of Osiris yesterday.

What do you mean "it's getting it's shit together" though? Last I heard the most recent news was the separation from Activision. Is there more?

>go to install
>80 fucking GB
yeah no maybe if it had been under 20

>being critical of the game

Fuck off you toxic and entitled prick.

2nd part of the annual pass was shown off and is coming out soon and it looks kinda neat

>annual pass

Attached: J6NAw-1486417438-738-lists-trek_khan_1200[3].png (1200x628, 682K)

It's not. We are approaching the 3rd entry in Destiny in a year or too and you have to ask yourself if its worth getting involved in a game that "gets its shit together" as many times as this series. They showed off the new content for the pass and it's hot grindy garbage and they made their PVPVE mode that already is a mess because your team mates are retards and Bungie made chat opt in a little more complex. Nothing crazy but with the lack of communication already a thing it will be a shit show for those who like to play alone.

>2nd part of the annual pass was shown off and is coming out soon and it looks kinda neat
You ever notice the supporters of this game talk like literal children despite probably being adults?

>the new content looks kinda neat
>I like this game because I get to shoot aliens in the face
>this game is amazing because it lets me use SPACE MAGIC

Seriously if you are on the fence, stay away from this series.

>yeah a lot of stuff has been exposed from that leaker.
Got a link or something?

>three months of nothing but fucking gambit
>thorn is back but it'll be shit in PVE anyway like most exotics they add
It's a yikes from me.

100$ DLC lol

I mean I was more going for a brief description of why OP was excited rather than an explanation of why he or I might think the new content looks good
but you're either baiting or severely autistic

Did they release a proper trailer? I thought they were gonna be done with DLC at this point.

I mean, I shit on Destiny for the longest time based on everything I heard, but I gave 2 a shot when it was free on PS+. I ended up enjoying the shit out of it.

>they made their PVPVE mode that already is a mess because your team mates are retards
You mean the "Team v Team to see who concludes their PVE run better" thing?
>Bungie made chat opt in a little more complex.
I didn't even know this was a thing? My boys and I just use PSN chat and have never had an issue.

It was some dude on reddit called AnonTheNine or something
He deleted his account but you can probably find it somewhere

Played through the story once, did some PvP then uninstalled it

Attached: 3df.jpg (686x751, 54K)

"neat" is not even a brief description. It is an empty, childish response.

this thing

Thanks, user.

>I mean, I shit on Destiny for the longest time based on everything I heard, but I gave 2 a shot when it was free on PS+. I ended up enjoying the shit out of it.
Well yea for free that goes without saying. This series is not worth paying for at all.

>I didn't even know this was a thing? My boys and I just use PSN chat and have never had an issue.
Which is why I specifically said for people who play on their own. Just because it isn't an issue for you doesn't mean it isn't an issue.

You're not allowed to make destiny threads on Yea Forums, the doomposters rule here. Come to /vg/ for some comfy discussion.

Attached: image.jpg (1198x908, 317K)

I don't play games anymore because you guys are fucking faggots and cheat in every single fucking one of them, even in my single player games.

They realize that I'm just going to go back to exactly how I was before, right? That all of this is pointless and fucking retarded.

I promise I wasn't crapping on you, user. Hell, yesterday when I played CoO, I played it solo. I just saw "chat opt in a little more complex" and thought you were having a hard time communicating with other people while playing with them. When I said I didn't know that was a thing, I was just admitting my ignorance of it being a problem. I wasn't trying to belittle it. Would you mind explaining it a bit for me?

I remember them talking about how they realized the mistakes they made with Destiny 2 and will build Destiny 3 from the ground up correcting them, along with a heavier focus on RPG mechanics since D2 was so much more of a casual shooter. That's a nice sentiment, but it killed any interest I had in D2 when they basically admitted it will forever be a failure and to just wait for the next game. Maybe Forsaken improved things, but the base game was such trash it made vanilla Destiny 1 feel like a fulfilling experience.

You seem to be taking issue with me using informal language
which seems more childish than the thing you have an issue with

The majority of shooters out there have chat as opt out by default. What this means is if you want to cease all communications, you have to tun it off. Destiny is the opposite. If you want to talk to normies you have to turn chat on. That's not all, if you actually want to talk you have to pause at the start of a match, take out your ghost and use your d pad to navigate to the chat room. Everyone else must do this too in the game. There is a setting that automatically does this in the options though but it all is not intuitive compared to other games thus why strikes and pvp matches are almost in complete silence. On top of this, people complain about solo quesing and getting destroyed and better communication is something that would fix this.

As for why it's like this, no one knows for sure but the best we have is this

business.financialpost.com/technology/gaming/destiny-2-social-lead-m-e-chung-on-how-bungie-used-a-super-bowl-ring-philosophy-to-balance-community

The person in charge of communication and the community at the time was triggered as a kid when she played Halo 2 therefore everyone must be punished with less communication options. Yes of course, you guessed it, it's a asian woman with problem hair who probably made this decision.

I am not taking issue I am replying to posts. Why are you being dramatic? I am correctly pointing out that this community is filled with children who can't even tell you in detail why they even like this game.

I feel I have more questions than I had before, but thank you for the explanation.

Attached: 1302793814737.jpg (636x440, 30K)

>Getting hyped for an entire season of "sweaty gambit"
No fucking thank you, PVP shit was the death of this franchise.

bought the game a few days ago, is there any guide on how any of this vendor stuff works?

how do I get the stuff I need for that gear set?

Attached: tiger_release_final_20190304_181627.png (1920x1080, 2.19M)

Attached: maxresdefault[8].jpg (1280x720, 48K)

There are objects unique to each world, that you gather. They each look different on each world. They are randomly generated, but typically you'll hear a "shimmery" effect when you're near one, that gets louder as you get closer to it. Additionally, you can do adventures on worlds to get them or items, or patrols once you unlock them on each world. Usually you give them to the world vendor in batches of 10 to raise your rep by 20%. Once you get to 100% you'll be given an "item" that gives you high end gear appropriate to your gear level.
Is that clear? Anything I can do a better job on for you?

>buying D2
>AGAIN
I guess after the fuckup that is Anthem people would be desperate enough

I'm hardly being dramatic by describing your negative response to my use of the word 'neat' as taking issue with it
and I'd tell you again that it was never my intention to explain in detail why I enjoy the game, but it honestly seems like you're incapable of putting together a coherent though

How much are they paying you?

are you ok?

yeah I'm doing alright

doesn't seem like it based on your replies honestly

>getting its shit together

No. Fucking no.

They had their shit together in Age of Triumph and it was fucking amazing. They've spent the last two years since doing everything but get us back to that point. We've got an ever growing number of half assed horde modes, the most pathetic multiplayer experience, absolute dogshit looking gear, and now three months dedicated to fucking Gambit. Game is in the hands of fucking morons who live and die by the words of a bunch of high school dropouts on YouTube and Twitch and seemingly no amount of backfires will ever change this.

Fuck you and everyone else who has enabled this shit.

nice try, 1/10

How p2w is this game? i know its p2p but i wonder about ingame trading and stuff like that

I appreciate the concern

My advice is to go outside and go for a walk. Maybe stay away for a week. You take this too personally think everything said to you is some bigger conspiracy.

now I'm just completely confused

shouldn't be

I fell off Destiny 2 a while ago, and there's no way I'll ever go back. They need to ditch the franchise completely and make something fresh that's not a shoot n loot.

>Pay $60 for a bad game but don't worry were gonna fix it just keep giving up money

Attached: no.jpg (414x536, 100K)

Yup. D3 vanilla will be another shallow disaster and their Taken King update will "fix everything". If you buy D3 on release you are a retard.

It's a pay 2 play model, no pay2win at all and 99% of cosmetics are earned through in-game activities.

do you guys would like of these games have some crafting of some sort? to build guns and maybe consumables to restoree yor shields get a little more speed etcetcetc.?

its a fucking pve game dude
it's pay2notplaythegame

Destiny 2 has PvP and PvPvE
