Somewhat excited, but I'm an actual long time player of the franchise and as a reboot/revival I'm sure it's only going to have the SS1 cast plus maybe a couple from 2 and so I'll probably stick with mostly playing 5sp. Still there's no fighting game that even tried to copy SS's particular feel so maybe it'll pull in some players from the post-SF4 era crowd.

It’s supposed to be set between SSV and SS, so there’s good odds of more SSV characters getting in. They’ve already confirmed everyone from SS1 except for Gen-an and Wan-Fu, though that doesn’t mean they can’t be in still. Genjuro is the only other one confirmed from a different game in the series

SamSho 2 or 5 Special. It is kind of hard to determine which is the best out of them. 2 is more focused on the pure fundamentals but has some real bullshit randomness as well. 5 Special has a load of systems, great balance and interesting characters. But this can sometimes pull away from being just a pure footsie game with next to no combos.

Iroha is not going to be added. Iroha alone was the reason VI didn't have executions. If they ever add Iroha to a SamSho game, it means there won't be any fatalities, probably not even blood.

They also don't really seems like having them work on Nakoruru either. I think it was only after V Special that they did. I question if they will be in at all though, V stepped up the gore a lot but that stuff creates so many issues for Japanese releases. MK doesn't even come out in Japan.

Iroha is in the top 3 of SamSho waifus, only straight-up losing to Nakoruru, I can imagine the backlash that would ensue if she got maimed onscreen.
I unironically want a SamSho without fatalities only so my boy Ochamaro can come back. Despite what the other user said, Ochamaro had probably more to do with no fatalities in VI than Iroha. Little trinket just doesn't mesh in a game with blood and gore, he'd need a lot of assets made specially for him
