About to play pic related. Are there are any recommended mods or fixes that I should be aware of before diving in or is the GOTY Edition adequate enough on modern hardware?

Deus Exe works great for me.

Nope, first time is to be played vanilla unless the game is broken. DX is perfectly playable as is.
Once you're done with the game you can always do a replay with GMDX on since it adds lots of nifty features.

Always go for the GEP gun since it will be awhile before you run into another one. It's like a secondary lockpick/hacker tool because you can just blow doors and security cameras up.

kentie launcher

imagine actually playing any game with mouse acceleration
op should do like and said and get some of the essential fixes

>Always go for the GEP gun
what if he doesn't want to play stealth

GEP gun

The mini-crossbow and sniper rifle can both be found in the level, the GEP gun cannot. The GEP gun has enough utility that it's useful for any build.

You should look into UI scaling fix.

widescreen support

I just played the steam version without any mods or fixes or whatever and it worked perfectly fine

I dropped it like 2 levels in. Some of the worst, most boring shit I ever played desu

You will have to get the widescreen fix

same.

>dropping it before Hell's Kitchen
your loss

I dropped it around the time you get to Hell's Kitchen on my first try as well, it just didn't really click for me. But recently I've gave it another go and this time it completely gripped it, completed the whole game and loved it. Will probably replay it soon

>maximum overbait

this chick has stds

>not playing DX stealthy aka the intended way
yikes

The original DX isn't really a stealth game, it's just a game with stealth as a viable option. Don't mistake the original for HR.

>stealthy aka the intended way
Only the early game has a strong emphasis on stealth really

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of the most atmospheric games of all time, prove me wrong.

Go with vanilla.
I run it with kentie.net/article/dxguide/ but I don't remember why

That's true, but UNATCO troopers don't deserve to die. They're just doing their job. You're the good guy in this game. Just because the game let's me be an asshole doesn't mean I should be one.

Fucking this. Memes aside is the best pick, also because you end up stacking lots of rockets if you explore a bit so you have 20 rockets or so by the time you really need them.
