>#1. TAYAL have been sold 300 copies nearly. Thanks so much for you guys support. >#2. Another big thing to me. After released TAYAL, I join the game develop department of CAPCOM about 2 month ago. I am currently working hard at CAPCOM to develop new projects. I will share news to you guys soon.
So not only has a dev only sold THREE HUNDRED FUCKING COPIES... he had to stop making his game to get a job working.
Do you people just post the same thing over and over in an autism competition?
You're never gonna come close to Barneyfag so why bother?
Kayden Allen
A mega man clone that i'm not familiar with? Thanks, shill, no really.
Josiah Butler
how is that a bad thing? some indie devs do this to get a job working at a big company
Angel Miller
Stop spamming your shitty game. I've seen you post your motherfucking game twice today already. Stop being a fucking entitled baby for not selling more copies of your low-effort megaman clone. No one gives a glimpse of a fuck. There's hundreds of thousands of developers out there making much better games and not even putting them on sale. Just for free. Because they know they don't have what it takes to even begin charging for money. Take your filth elsewhere, effortless scumbag.
Michael Perry
>it is somehow a bad thing that a nobody got a job working at capcom
Henry Richardson
Did you play Metagal?
Camden Flores
And without steam, how many copies would he have sold?
That's right. Zero.
Jose Reyes
I don't think working at a soulless corporation is anyone's dream jo-
*gets zapped*
Oh yes, I sent my application to Capcom and I'll be working for them right away!
*thumbs up* *winks at the camera*
Being another cog in the machine is what I've always wanted to do!
Jonathan Harris
stop replying to these threads you stupid fucks look at and leave
Brody Cooper
This isn't 2009-2011 when there was the an indie game gold rush
In fact, your game could sell better on something like the Switch
>The Switch though has seen a number of ports sell better than anticipated. Despite already being out for over three years, the Switch version of Shovel Knight sold better than any of the other versions at launch according to its developer, Yacht Club Games. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Forma.8, and other games have seen similar success. SMG Studios noted in September that Death Squared sold more on the Switch in the first three days than all other platforms it released on combined, while the same thing happened to the Zelda-like exploration game Oceanhorn. And then there was SteamWorld Dig 2, Immage & Form’s action platformer that sold 10 times more on Switch than on Steam.
Nintendo takes 30% too, but actually earns it unlike Valve
Austin Johnson
It's not my game, but nice try
Nolan Powell
Never heard of it either, cool. A nip site i used to visit that cataloged these games stopped updating a long time ago. Since then, its nice to stumble across new ones randomly, even though I don't really try them all that much any more. I just really like that the formula is still alive.
Henry Harris
Gosh who could be responsible for spamming these anti-valve threads
Kevin Allen
Honestly... It doesn't even looks to be worthy to be pirated
Adam Johnson
Btw it's beatable and I got all achievements in regards to completing it/finding all upgrades - so don't give up
I just haven't rebeat it as the other characters
Christopher Sanchez
Yeah because NOBODY could ever be critical of Valve. This is Yea Forumsalve - a Steam forum, afterall
Ryder Ortiz
>10 minutes apart Jesus, this chinknadian fuck should kill himself.
Julian Brown
>Honestly... It doesn't even looks to be worthy to be pirated
Yeah, so buy it
Henry Howard
Nah, I wouldn't spend my time for it. It's just lame megaman reskin. It has some interesting features but it doesn't have any "whoa!" factor which would make it a brand new game. I love indies because they bring actually something original to industry, but not for rip-offs. I can understand why it sells poorly.
Justin Jenkins
How much has it sold on EPIC Games Store?
Xavier Reyes
Except it's prohibitively more expensive to develop for Switch because you need the dev hardware on top of all the other costs (software licenses etc.)
The SDK and other software is free but the basic devkit is like $500-600, and it's even more if you want the deluxe model that has the debugging hardware which is very handy to have.
Thomas Cooper
We've always been critical of Valve, at least we were until Epic Store shilling overshadowed it. You trannies are the most self-defeating bunch I have ever seen
Jack Allen
>guy sells indie game >gets a job at Capcom, which is doing great lately How is this a problem? I'm happy for him.
Grayson Cook
Not on EGS because Steam shills say your game can only succeed on Steam, but that's been proven wrong by Switch
Jaxon King
if you're working for THE MAN instead of chasing your dreams its bad and somehow all Valve's fault for enabling shit tier indies like him to have a low-barrier-of-entry platform to begin with
Austin Morales
>It's somehow steams fault that no one wants to buy some shitty indie game. Wew.
>#NintendoSwitch community is a blessing! #BlossomTales is now a turnaround story: Humble indie dev @castlepixel can stay in business and continue making games. Love y’all! 3 months #Switch revenues surpass #Steam lifetime revenues 20 times!
So even despite the $500-$600 investment, the switch port literally saved a studio
Liam Rivera
Capcom is still a soulless corporation, shill.
Thomas Cook
i'm happy for them too, even if their game sounds gay
Honestly, this though? Steam is giving them an 'always open' digital market place from which to sell their game, and 30% is a small take compared to brick and mortar.
Not everyone succeeds on Steam and that's a shame. But marketing your game isn't their job.
Brayden Perez
Yeah but I'm saying for indies that are just breaking into the scene, 500 dollaridoos is a steep entry price when you haven't sold a game yet.
Michael Thomas
Seems like he's happy about it. Why are you bitching?
Cameron Diaz
So the games bad enough that it deserved to flop... but good enough to get him a job at Capcom...
My god, the mind of a steam drone makes me reel
Jayden Anderson
...and this is why we need Socialism!
Caleb Foster
garbage game
Tyler Carter
I don't get it why is getting a job a bad thing
Cooper Walker
>Not everyone succeeds on Steam and that's a shame.
So not every game needs to be on Steam, glad you agree.
Juan Perez
I blame Undertale for giving retards the impression that they can hit it big with low-effort faux-retro shit, welcome to the real world kid The only sad part is that he ended up in a garbage industry
Ryan Long
I don't see how working for a big company is a bad thing. Like christ, stop being such a hipster. Capcom has been doing a great job lately.
Yeah, not every game needs to be on steam, but every game can. Because it's a market, one not constrained by shelf space.
Indie games are a saturated market. Every day more games come out than you could play through in a month. Devs complain about a lack of "discoverability" on Steam but it's caused entirely by how many games they're putting out. If storefronts like Steam were to curate games more heavily to reduce bloat and increase the amount of attention each game gets, like 95% of these developers' games simply wouldn't be allowed on Steam at all. Every one of them acts like their game is the exception that should get front page ads for weeks and it's everyone else's games that are quickly shat out garbage that should be buried.
Andrew Perry
People have been trying (and often succeeding) to hit it big with faux retro low effort shit well before Undertale. That and 'moody' side scrollers with a 'message' like Limbo or a million others.
Samuel Thompson
His job should be making his dream games
Cooper Diaz
>Yeah, not every game needs to be on steam, but every game can. Because it's a market
A bad one - I mean you don't see bibles sold at sex shops. It doesn't make any sense
Jordan Lee
I didn't buy tayal because it didn't interest me. Never mind Steam's 30% cut, shit doesn't sell if it's not good. Why the fuck would I want to buy an indie to support muh indie devs just because?
Levi Jenkins
Tayal is a game. Being sold in a game market. I'm not seeing the issue. Whether or not it's quality is for you to decide. This is why refunds and user reviews are important, to help people make informed choices
Samuel Powell
>but it's caused entirely by how many games they're putting out.
Yes, it's the good indie devs fault because Steam lets in literal trash onto the store
It's funny that tranny shills think they can exploit our sympathy, as if we somehow care about all devs and not just the devs who make games we like Personally I hope the little furshit gets fired from Capcom and resorts to sucking dicks
Who do you think caused Steam to let everything in? Indie devs begged for years for Valve to loosen the restrictions. Am I the only fuck that remembers this? At one point Valve considered Paranautical Activity too shitty for steam.
Parker Barnes
>This is why refunds and user reviews are important, to help people make informed choices
Epic has refunds, but Steam drones proved that user reviews are a bad thing last month.
Reminder that Humble Bundle, Fanatical, Origin, uPlay, Battle.net and Bethesda Launcher don't have user reviews
