What I meant was that I'm not sure it will ever be considered the consensus best game ever. For me personally it's in my top 3 along with (in no particular order) Pokemon Gold and Majora's Mask. That's only my personal opinion though and I"m sure others have vastly different tastes than I do.

I also consider mm one of my most fav games ever, but i hate pokemon and bloodborne was just frustrating and not fun, at least for me. Just roll and roll over and over. I like monhun a lot, but wouldn't call it a good game, more of a timekiller.

Only increase STR and SKL enough to meet the minimum requirements for most weapons. Ignore BTG. Put everything in ARC. And farm elemental blood gems like nobodies business. Pure ARC is far more viable than pure BTG (which is suicidal on your first run)

Bloodborne just sucks ass. Shitty frame pacing. Low definition textures. A color palette that consists of like 3 colors. Bad anti-aliasing. Easy as fuck (I beat it in one night). Annoying and unpleasant world design. PVP is fully broken and the devs never bothered to fix it. Only enjoyable parts are a couple of the bosses but none of them beat me more than like twice (only wet nurse, gerhman, and the cage-head guy beat me at all). I never did the DLC but this game is so migraine inducing to me that I will never play it again until they fix the performance issues. I hate the trick weapons and gun parries. Feels like you have 10 billion frames to parry everything. This game is just Shadow the Hedgehog: Dark Souls Edition. Just a thoroughly unenjoyable game that does not deserve the praise it gets

If it wasn't boring in segments it was just unfun because the landscape was vastly uninteresting, the enemies were no fun to go up against because they felt like bullet sponges instead of challenges, the bosses too, the obsession with blood made it too annoying to even ironically enjoy

MGSV has many problems.

Let’s start with the most obvious one. All the criticism aimed at MGS4 for basically being a movie with awesome gameplay sections interspersed caused Hideo to take that feedback and do a complete 180, where the whole game is basically gameplay with very little cutscenes to tie things together. Most of the story and exposition is given through boring ass audio tapes and radio chatter. Instead, Hideo should have found a better middle ground between these two extremes.

Next, the game isn’t even complete. You get to a certain point in the story where you literally have to replay almost every mission you did previously, just to get to the last section. There’s an entire final chapter of the game that just doesn’t exist.

Also, speaking on the missions, the mission structure is so haphazard and devoid of any real meaningful connection to the linearity of previous titles. It’s like MGSV jumped on the open world bandwagon just because it could, giving players this massive sandbox with literally no reason for it to be a massive sandbox.

Next, the bosses in MGS were always some of the finest, most enjoyable aspects to these games. There really isn’t any good boss to speak of.

I just don’t want to talk about it anymore, it’s bringing up residual disappointment

Yeah, backstepping doesn't seem to work well against the Cleric Beast

The Hunter pistol is perfectly adequate, and imo, is easier to parry with.
Also some bosses have weak spots and have several lock-on options. For example, you can lock onto the Cleric Beast's head and stun it by shooting it, or cripple it by going for the legs.

There really is no reason for the blunderbuss to be slower than the pistol because their utility is completely different from one another.

You can't even pop Cleric Beast's face with the blunderbuss so it shouldn't be given speed penalties. Unless of course they introduce change in bullet types but we never got that.

For weapons with one damage type, adding elemental gems will convert all damage to the specified element. This means that if you have 2 physical gems and 1 elemental gems, the first 2 gems are being wasted. All scaling from there on comes from your Arcane stat.

For split damage weapons, the elemental gems just add up to the split damage. For example, adding bolt gems to tonitrus, fire gems to the boom hammer. You can create double and even triple elemental weapons with split damage type weapons.
This is more complicated than it seems. For example, adding arcane gems to the Holy Moonlight Sword will amplify its damage, but only on its Moonlight sword transformed mode. And the untransformed mode's damage and visceral attack damage will be base stat equivalent.
Same with the boom hammer. Only when its primed.

One way to get full use of split damage type weapons is to use Abyssal Gems or just plain Physical gems. Abyssal Gems are great if you're making elemental ones.

He is well designed, he can be parried and he does leave himself open for backstabs as well as having a generously open arena to fight in. He's just really hard because his first phase is challenging but doable, but once he goes into his second phase it becomes a matter of keeping your cool and not get intimidated. Orphan goes apeshit in the second phase and parry/backstab windows become smaller, so it becomes a really tense fight.

The hardest boss in the game is actually Laurence, but he's also extremely unfair to the player. Once he's in his second phase, half of his attacks have exactly the same wind-up and everywhere he goes he leaves a trail of lava shit that prevents you from strafing around him.

Ludwig is hard, again, for the same reason. Really wide, fast attacks that are hard to escape

heals you*, you can use the lamp to heal, but it's basically forcing you to sit through two loading screens.

If you can heal using the fucking thing, it should just automatically heal you in the first place.

Ludwig will be very challenging initially because he's kind of a jump in difficulty compared to the main story's bosses, but honestly his first phase is definitely harder than his second because his moveset is more sporadic and seemingly random. However, his second phase is definitely intimidating at first but dodging his attacks is significantly easier.

If I were to rank the DLC bosses by difficulty:
Laurence >= Orphan > Ludwig > Living Failures > Maria

NGL, Bloodborne is the game I'm waiting for to get PS4 Pro support before I drop money on a console, but I feel at this point its probably going to be more worth it to invest that cash into next gen.

PS4Pro accelleration actually fucks up the game and they never patched it to benefit from it in anyway, you're advised to turn it off for BB.

It's never going to happen, they've moved on. FROM tied the framerate to the animations, there's no way they could improve it anyway. At best you might get faster load times, and why would they bother to come back to it?

again, the framerate is tied to the animations, you won't be able to up it past 30fps without breaking the game, just like Dark Souls before they did that remake version with the new MP.

At this point i'm not 100% sure the frame drops aren't tied to the engine either.

BB is a great game thematically and gameplay wise but mechanically it's a clusterfuck

Even if they can't improve the framerate, the game itself looks like ass. A bump to the resolution or some half-decent AA would go a long way to making the game passable.

Agreed, also with games where the gameplay is so intense and important I think it is extremely shitty to not be a stable 60fps. BB has a lot going for it though. Solid 90 imo.

Wait until you fight her in the Defiled Chalice Dungeon.

after you beat Micolash, do the DLC because there is a really good grinding spot after his arena if you get stuck on the DLC.

Also I think I take back about where I ranked Maria, she's a decent challenge but not as hard as Ludwig. Switch her with Living Failures and that'd be my order.

He's very good boss. People have problem with him because he can chain same attacks into different combos depending on where you are after his 1st attack and they can't figure him out.

Best looking areas in that game are High Wall of Lothric's first part, before the sun turns into the undead curse and Irythyll outside of Wolnir's cup room. Irithyll itself looks quite bad with Dark Souls 2 tier building placements.
Near the end of the game they just say >fuck this, and the last area after getting all the ashes is just a gray path, with gray buildings cropped together.
Oh, and the Ariandel area looks nice. Fromsoft doesn't make shit looking snow areas.

If the game didn't have chalice dungeons, half baked rpg elements, shallow multiplayer and was more focused action elements (More varied trick weapon combos etc. basically a spiritual prequel to Sekiro), then yes, it would be one of the best.
