I had about 2 hours of Anthem before all the technical issues became unbearable. By the time my friends were ready to play I couldn't handle any more hard crashes, freezes, "Is it loading?" screens, and the multiplayer system was horrible

That's not how console development works. Developers want to get every last bit of performance out of the machine, and Sony wants games on their PS4 to outperform the XBOX One.
Console developers will (and always have) had more control over the operation of the console that you would see in a PC game for example. Which makes sense since you have more limited hardware and need to make the most of it.

EA expected Anthem to sell like 7 million copies and I really doubt they managed even half that.

This crapshoot has been in development for like 6 years so it cost an arm and a leg to develop.

The OS in a PC is more hardened than a console for obvious reasons. PC developers cannot run their games at the same privilege level as they can on a console, which abstracts the lower level interfaces. PC developers also don't have guarantees on the type of hardware the game will run on, which limits their optimizations.
Consoles are far more open to developers because of the fixed platform, and console manufacturers providing very low level apis to control the hardware. They certainly can fuck up, and have done so many times in the past.

Achually consoles crashing can lead them getting bricked, look up list of things that can and do happen with unsafe shutdowns and unchained process flows.

Consoles seem rather brittle compared to PCs in terms of how they are shut down, and crashes that require to unplug console have resulted in damage that has to be repaired in repair shop with parts needing replacement due to complications resulting from faulty shutdown.

I'm not sure why this is the case however I suspect it has something to do with them trying to keep the assembly costs low or just way the shit is put together with decade old hardware.

I have a suspicion these are not weapons with a 0 bonus but that there's a formatting issue with the text. The strings will have placeholders inserted into them that indicates where and how a passed argument, e.g. the damage increase percentage, should be inserted and formatted within the text and it's failing to do so correctly and just defaulting to 0.
