Persona 5 and SMT 4 are both good entry points into their respective series. Keep in mind Persona is probably the most casual of the various MegaTen-related sub-series, so don't expect it to be a good indication of MegaTen in general.

Both of the games are great starters. You can jump straight into Persona 5 if you want, but going back and playing older games will have you missing QOL improvements they made over the years. Though imo the stories are a bit stronger in older games.

SJ is a weirder than usual spinoff with its own combat system gimmicks, it's cool nonetheless
