bump

Personally I just want more options for sharing games between family members.
Family share is nice, but it has nothing on something like GoG where I can literally just transfer the game to an external and give it to my dad and let him install it from there.

I want Gabe to give me friends

Attached: 2019-03-03 20_43_41-Window.png (316x86, 13K)

I want green steam back

Attached: Screenshot_2019-02-20 Steam Badge Years of Service.png (948x175, 18K)

true
I really like how sharing works on PS4, it'd be nice to see something similar on Steam

i hope steam stops pulling adult games

you can install the theme
Steam was sooo slow back in the day, wasn't it? Internet was much slower obviously, but it'd still take so much time to just open Steam

maybe try asking something realistic instead

make genre tags actually meaningful. and make it easier to browse games and to filter out those thousands of shitty asset flips

Attached: aaa.png (943x306, 113K)

wtf user
are you that cool?

tell us something about how it was back then

Attached: wSNgysF.png (646x234, 46K)

you don't have to be mean

is it your account?
did you literally join the same day Steam came out?

sorry, Gabe, I didn't mean to call Steam slow :(

not him but it was a horrible pale green, it crashed a lot, offline mode never worked and it would hang on updates for a long time

Steam was a huge piece of shit when it came out, you have no idea.

Attached: Clipboard-1.jpg (335x183, 10K)

yes. i missed getting a 4 digit steamID because i was still on dial-up at the time

good old days huh

I respect you user

I still miss WON

Also, does anyone have a pic when Steam had ads? I had it on my old harddrive but didn't transfer it over

Attached: won.jpg (774x581, 67K)

9 Year zoomer here, got Steam because of 1.6

What a useless thread
>Let me find a steam page thats really old and post it on Yea Forums which is basically just posting pictures of numbers 10-15
>On an anonymous image board
Literally what is the purpose

This desu, I also wish they'd curate a ton of the shit Greenlight-tier crap on there

Attached: RIPmylife.png (389x354, 61K)

Steam sucks, has always sucked and I use it just so I can play cs 1.6

Attached: bonerjams.png (274x111, 36K)

Yea, we're all just posting random peoples' accounts, no way is there anyone here who's not a faggot/underageb& like yourself who only got into PC gaming this gen.

Why is it everyone on Yea Forums in all these threads happen to be the few people who joined Steam the day it launched, still keep up with it, still post on Yea Forums, happen to have caught this thread, and are still alive?

how many hours on CS 1.6 user?

why's mine only 9, does it not update?

Attached: bg.png (320x167, 14K)

>everyone
>Literally only 3 or 4 people
What's it like being stupid?

press F5

>imagine being this jealous because other people have a bigger number on their profile

I want a profile option to show how many gifts I've given

Attached: years.jpg (396x145, 14K)

THERE'S LITERALLY ANONS THAT ARE ONLY 3 YEARS OLDER THAN STEAM!!!

Attached: 1421089891052.jpg (649x638, 42K)

Obviously he refreshed the page a few times in the past few years hes missing

I have 3 accounts with around these amount of hours. When I would get banned from a server I'd just switch accounts and play there.

Attached: Jamingbones.png (636x114, 42K)

Attached: cq9it9cffkj21.png (162x173, 68K)

fuck you
I want WON back

Attached: years.png (329x144, 15K)

14 years on mine, although I had an account from launch which I gave away to a friend so he could have the Half Life games because that's what Steam was only really for initially.

I also am probably one of the few anons from the start of Yea Forums too, aside from being one of the founders of that shit TF2 server Weeabootique which split off from Party Van. Remember, you're trapped here forever.

Attached: yehhhhh.jpg (320x174, 15K)

Don't pretend to be retarded. If you see how stupid this "number thread" is then you know why I think this is fucking dumb

I think you have to keep buying shit. "Service" to them means you giving them money

>2008/2009 Steam
>"old"
lmaoing @ your life

I'm 34 btw famalam

Attached: IMG_20190303_200517.jpg (945x478, 33K)

a friend of mine has over 20k hours on CS 1.6, I can't find his steam account though

he used to shit on CS:GO constantly too obviously (he still does actually)

stop insulting my thread!

>I also am probably one of the few anons from the start of Yea Forums too

is it weird that I actually find this based as fuck?

I have a CS:GO account where I haven't bought a game for years, and the badge still updates.

Yours is glitched probably.
If you care enough, maybe try contacting the support

Attached: ajxidof.png (324x185, 15K)

I have a buddy with like 36,000 hours or something like that. He ran a server and would just have his account constantly logged into it. He still played every night for hours, so I'm sure he's played a huge fuckin' grip, but I'd imagine that like 50% of it is AFK time.

I don't care for CSGO as much as 1.6 because movement is heavily neutered, but I like it more than source. I still have played CSGO a fair amount due to the player base, but there's still a couple lively 1.6 servers in my area which always reels me back.

You made me curious so I went and actually checked on his account and holy fuck, it's way higher than I remembered. He hasn't logged in since January which makes me wonder if he actually passed away. He was in his 60s, hope he's doing alright

Attached: God damn dude.png (628x113, 41K)

>is it weird

I've also made it by job as one of the ancients to archive and save shitty memes, screencaps and shitposts from the ages.

Hey bro wanna play some tf2?

>I have a buddy with like 36,000 hours or something like that. He ran a server and would just have his account constantly logged into it. He still played every night for hours, so I'm sure he's played a huge fuckin' grip, but I'd imagine that like 50% of it is AFK time.

oh yeah, I forgot people did that, that's probably the reason why friend has this many hours, too.

> I don't care for CSGO as much as 1.6 because movement is heavily neutered, but I like it more than source. I still have played CSGO a fair amount due to the player base, but there's still a couple lively 1.6 servers in my area which always reels me back.

I was interested in CS:GO until I got Global Elite. I didn't enjoy grinding for it though since I really dislike the system (you never know when you'll rank up/no solu queue) and playing with randoms who may suddenly start to ruin/leave or just suck at the game.

I also realized I enjoyed playing casually on public servers more than ranked, and that's basically the reason why I switch to Call of Duty, since it's mostly about TDM and just casually grinding lvl and skins.

Attached: jk9uz0w91lj21.png (222x279, 158K)

are you going to post them all one day or show them to your grand kids?

Attached: Capture.png (321x179, 34K)

if Yea Forums dies I'll make a dump, and when memes get outlawed by thought police I'll keep it as a secret stash and show it to my great grandkids

Zoomers GET THE FUCK OUT. Yea Forums is a Boomer board.

Attached: Capture.jpg (276x89, 4K)

its just bough accounts dude
they're cheap af
people used to buy em all the time to cheat on cs and other games (i presume)
really annoying when compared to us that try to see pride on getting that number to rise
but to be honest though, i dont even care anymore that my account is old by most of steam standarts
fuck steam
:(

Yeah, I only play casual servers/community server DM with an occasional comp with some buds. I got to SMFC but realized that I didn't enjoy taking it seriously like I did playing 1.6 back in the day when I'd play in like Cal-M and decayed into casual play. I just got too old for it I suppose, but I still enjoy chilling and playing cs, so it's a good life

The pale green was kino, I prefer it over the Discord-lite interface we have now. Plus back then you could DL your own themes, dunno if you can anymore, haven't tried

if you were in highschool when steam registrations were enabled then you'd be in your 30s by now. Not all 15 year old accounts were bought/sold

>I just got too old for it I suppose
true

this is hilarious

Kind of weird looking back at all that's happened in my life over the past twelve and a half years.

Attached: steam1.png (401x422, 217K)

Fuck stop making me nostalgic, I still miss the OD green steam UI

Attached: file.png (330x141, 31K)

I miss old Yea Forums before all the endless ideology wars and constant complaining about everything, longcat and banter

>this is hilarious
I also kept old desktop screenshots, they're fun to kind of go back and remember when PC gaming was at its peak in genre variety and the internet was funner.

Attached: desktopssss.jpg (1024x768, 750K)

corrr

Attached: IMG_20190304_133658.png (651x258, 51K)

you have to make a thread(s) where you post these screenshots

One thing old Yea Forums had was there was a lot more fun for the sake of fun than shitposting for the sake of fun. I don't blame 4channers itself for the culture change, I think the internet as the whole got serious and angry as shit and it just bled over inevitably.

Attached: 1132942894085.png (626x790, 56K)

I miss the old guard.

I'm pretty sure many people joined Steam just for CS like me

Fix the library

My first game was Half Life 2. I bought a physical copy of it at Target and it came with a steam code. I was a pretty much exclusive console player at the time but I quickly switched over to PC within a year and built my first computer in 2007.

Attached: steam.png (363x237, 49K)

God damn dude, how do you manage still being here?
I only came to Yea Forums in 2008 and I feel like so much has changed over the years, but originalfags were always talking about how cancerous Yea Forums was by 2007 so I figured they'd all abandoned the place.

I did when steam became mandatory for playing 1.6
Lost the account though

Steam cant be fixed. Literally no good games to look forward too.

Attached: Screenshot_20190304-105350_Chrome.jpg (1033x808, 159K)

>November 2011
Go back to consoles Skyrimbabby, thanks.

neat, we joined on the same day

dunno

Attached: eldritchgamer.png (283x90, 12K)

I'm a firm believer in the teachings of Shii, and even at its worse Yea Forums is and hopefully will be the best place on the net and last bastion of free. It's like as Yea Forums gets shittier everywhere else hits rock bottom so it evens out.

Attached: 1140246710890.jpg (716x663, 93K)

Were nicknames more popular back then?

>dis winrars teh interw3bz
Feels quaint that we used to talk like this back then

yeh, trip or namefags were common to the point sometimes Yea Forums was practically a forum, I was a tripfriend myself and got banned for trolling seperate 4 times till a mod personally told me that next time it'd be a perma, also roleplay threads were considered peak humour so the Chris Redfield RE2 threads really remind me of that era. Aside from that people mainly came for porn and anime girls, me included.

Attached: 1151098351388.jpg (1000x1800, 317K)

I've been on steam since '04 and Yea Forums since '05. I remember warhammer wednesdays that ended up with /tg/ being born, which was my main board for the longest time, that and /x/.

Attached: years on steam.png (200x124, 26K)

Man. Here's the thing. I've been here since this whole place started. And despite it becoming cancerous with each passing day, especially with the cunts from places like Reddit, 9Gag, and Tumblr, you can still have a proper argument and opinion. I mean, I wish I could find somewhere else, but the experimental chans get posted on once a month.

>Aside from that people mainly came for porn and anime girls, me included.
I know that feel, one of the first things I saved on Yea Forums was porn of Zoey from L4D.

Kek

Attached: IMG_20190303_042448.jpg (1080x1606, 216K)

>I mean, I wish I could find somewhere else, but the experimental chans get posted on once a month.
Same here, bro. After moot left I actually gave 7chan a try for a few weeks before coming back.

I remember

>ban
disgusting
I bet you have other aliases too

I like LainChan, but it's so dead. 420Chan was great for awhile, but it's also dead. Tried eightChan, but it was just Reddit with a chan appearance.

How many dias are in one American day?

The internet is a fucking wasteland now, it's like the post apocalypse and Yea Forums is the last ragtag crickity settlement in the desert full of roving butt bandits. I've been around Yea Forums longer than most actual people I know and at this point it's like family.

How many of you fags have vac bans?

Attached: Capture.png (441x396, 89K)

Mine will be 15 in autumn. It forced itself upon me when I tried to play TFC one evening. Honestly I haven't used it in probably 4-5 years.

I remember, my original account was lost to time but I remember how cancerous steam was. Pic related is when steam finally became viable and even then I don't think the friend function worked entirely yet.

Attached: 222221.jpg (376x141, 11K)

I mainly post on boards like Yea Forums and Yea Forums here and usually use 8ch's Yea Forums.
Yea Forums here has just gotten too fast, too many idiots who just come here to fling shit about the latest drama.
Yea Forums sees fucking almost 100 posts a minute on a regular basis, something like 40-50 posts per minute would be much more tolerable and would put the board around the level of something like Yea Forums or Yea Forums.
In general I just wish Yea Forums would be a bit less popular, I'm tired of retard flooding in every time the shit hits the fan somewhere.

>tfw people are young enough to use Yea Forums and not remember Pedobear or Longcat

I wish they worked hard on the Steam Workshop to the point where it'd completely replace modb as the primary website people got for mods.

desu I just miss xfire

Not a one, I also haven't changed my name once since '04 either.

I was 12 and my mum let me get Half-Life 2 at target after my family got a new desktop.

Attached: ghjghjk.png (322x454, 115K)

I remember the day it came out and having to install it on all the computers at the Internet cafe I worked at. I remember everyone being disappointed in 1.6.

I went by the name Alec_Baldwin in Dawn of War, which was some in-joke with my high school buddies I can't even remember anymore.

Steam 15 years ago is what Epic games is trying to shill now. It's disgusting.

Attached: 1543586149190.png (694x169, 21K)

I had so many hours of half life mods and lotro in xfire and its all gone

Gamespy was shit even back then.

>banimento
Why does Portuguese sound like fake Spanish

My first game was orange box.
Nice try though

God I miss the old Yea Forums memes.
The shit we have nowadays is just so unironically soulless, and since every chucklefuck is a fucking crossboarder there's no specific board identities for the most part, just a bunch of Yea Forumsermin and /pol/tards who also happen to browse Yea Forums or Yea Forums or /x/ or /g/.
Not to mention how horribly cynical we all became.
Stuff like pic related used to be posted in threads all the time, but nowadays it'd just be some ironic shitpost that would derail a thread for 8+ posts.

Attached: Epic Thread.jpg (259x194, 14K)

>all those countless hours playing STALKER, Dawn of War, and CoD4 during high school that xfire tracked are just gone
Makes me feel old.

Attached: fuck.jpg (300x300, 53K)

lmao underage

>ywn again know those hot summer nights spent high on dxm playing surf maps into the late morning hours while listening to eurobeat mixes

Attached: 1547064820838.png (645x773, 23K)

It's all the e-celeb shit and Twitter posts. Couple that with the same, tired ass debate of console vs PC, Sony vs Nintendo, etc, and it just causes the board to be mostly shit. Add to that the repeat threads for the newest games, despite there being a fucking video game general board, and you see why most people hate this place.

Yeah. Kind of is. All the stuff that made the internet great in the late '90's, early '00's, has been killed in favor of heavily marketed alternatives for everyone. Like, Discord is straight shit, but everyone loves it! Twitch, which was at one time, about games, are now for women who are too chicken shit to strip. All these "new" alternatives are just terrible.

>Dawn of War
>Crysis
>Quake Wars
God I miss it.

>I first saw this UI almost 20 years ago
fuck... just take me back please, I can't take this anymore

Valve opened this box

>It's all the e-celeb shit and Twitter posts.
Social media was fucking mistake. Easily the most damning thing ever introduced online. People are so fucking stupid online nowadays; "HERE LEMME JUST GIVE YOU MY NAME AND ADDRESS." I remember when I was a kid, the first rule was never tell people who you actually are for saftey's sake.

Dawn of War still has people playing it.

user you really ought to upload them somewhere for others to download, an archive maintained by one person is just asking to be wiped by hard drive corruption, mechanical failure, house fire, act of god, etc.

Attached: afraid.jpg (327x457, 18K)

Oh fuck, looks like I need to dig out my old Dark Crusade disc and see if I can't get some matches.
Fucking loved those games, easily among my favorite RTS games.

Ultimate Apocalypse still has a good number of people playing every once in a while

Honestly, some of the most fun I've had playing an RTS has been playing DC and SS, especially dicking around with the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for SS.

>Look Yea Forums I've been gobbling shit for over a decade!

Pathetic bastards. I gave up Steam years ago.

>Dark Crusade disc
It's all over steam, now. The hard copy can't be updated to that. I think your CD key works on steam, though.

>people who joined steam during or shortly after Orange Box are calling themselves oldfags now

Yikes

Attached: Capture.png (950x185, 18K)

What a buncha old geezers in this thread

Attached: 2019-03-03 20_36_50-Steam.png (977x225, 174K)

Oh, for sure. People are so blasé about their information anymore. When social networking shifted to social media, it all just stopped being enjoyable and started being something I tried to actively ignore. Toss in the identity politics which roared to life in 2008, and it was like beating a dead horse. The biggest effect it head on video games wasn't just stagnation, but ultimately a regression in technology and gameplay, in favor of poorly written Hollywood-esque stories and scripted instances. Valve and Bungie really ruined the video game industry with that.

>It's all the e-celeb shit and Twitter posts.
Oh my god, yes.
Fucking social media GENUINELY ruined the internet.
I wish someone would just make a new internet that's largely inaccessible to normalfucks and isn't a giant honeypot like most onion sites.
You can tell how much the internet has changed by looking at the sites that are popular among the 10-22 crowd.
Back then it was sites like Newgrounds, Armorgames, albinoblacksheep, ebaumsworld, ytmnd, Yea Forums, deviantart, gaiaonline, neopets, sites that usually revolved around some form of creative output or expression, creating something, expressing your thoughts and opinions with others, building a community.
Nowadays it's shit like instagram, facebook, kik, snapchat, just places for you to post all the stupid shit you do and even attach your real fucking face to it like a moron and basically mark yourself for life.
It fucking boggles my mind the kind of shit kids do on the internet that fucking involves their ACTUAL identities, and I'm only 23.

I remember getting steam to play gmod with a bunch of friends, jesus, so many hours spent on freespace dicking around and making shit with randoms

Attached: Capture.jpg (288x89, 3K)

Literally 14 years of the same bloody name...I'd like to see steam sales go back to the way the summer sales of yore were....mini games...flash sales...free stuff to unlock...there's no heart in them anymore

Attached: aewt3w634276.png (974x221, 142K)

As much as I hate Valve for popularizing the cinematic cutscene shit that's been plaguing vidya for at least the past 15 years, I can't entirely hate them because they're one of the few developers that has completely open modding tools for pretty much ALL of their games, which really helps foster an actual community, unlike shit like R6 Siege or your typical shitty console looter shooting trash like Destiny and The Division where you're just plopped in with randoms.
I really miss when every single online game had dedicated community-run servers, they'll always be superior to this terrible matchmaking system that so many games insist on using nowadays because they want to copy the MMO/F2P model.

it's because of how popular steam has gotten, you can't give free stuff away anymore because the endless horde of chinks and russians will abuse the shit out of it like they did with coal

Uwotm8?
Steam still gives out free games all the time, that's not the issue, the issue is them fucking up flash sales and ruining them.

>I really miss when every single online game had dedicated community-run servers
Same here, you join the same servers and see the same people, you become friends with them and you all hang out shooting each other. Simpler times, I suppose. At least I still have that in Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 2.

Chinese need to be region locked and not allowed to interact with anyone outside of China.

The return policy is what killed the flash sales...people would just return the game to buy it for the flash sale price so they axed them entirely because of people who abuse returns

that's just because of refunds, you can't really have a flash sale system when refunds exist and are so easy to get

Back in the days, Steam was a army green clunky piece of shit that they forced on you in order to play Counter Strike which, at the time, was just like cocaine except with slavs spamming their weapon switching animations.
Everyone was sharing mods and weapon skills and they promised it was just a way to regroup the various valve shit. They got us hard.

Attached: sucks.png (331x141, 14K)

>having a steam account from before they stopped selling physical games that weren't just steam codes in a box

Attached: 1372103559014.png (426x251, 113K)

I should probably but I gotta clean it up since I got my legal name in some of the screen caps. I do have my files backed up across three external HDs stored in various places and my old computers that I keep around but if something were to happen to me there might be an issue of people not caring to preserve my old shit.

Yeh, social networks and smart phones in combination really fucked people. I don't mean in the crotichity old man yelling at Cloud sense but the human beings never do shit in moderation and the way they use things have poisoned their minds and by proxy the net. I think we know how previous gens felt when their community based towns got paved over for fast moving soulless inner cities felt now.

Attached: 1181280334193.png (1024x3360, 183K)

Community run servers were always superior to matchmaking because you had to conform to the community, and not vice-versa. Didn't like that someone called you a fag? Start your own server. Hated foul language? Start your own server. Don't like 3 out of the 15 maps? Start your own server. You totally could join a server, make friends, have those communities in different games, etc. But when matchmaking started, it was always you and your friends in a party chat, all by yourselves, playing random people, no trash talking, no nothing. Communities were great because you could dictate what the game did, no matter what the developer wanted.

God, I miss good trash talking. I miss the 10 years old calling you a nigger faggot or telling you how they fucked your mom. I miss having to quit games for a 1v1 because someone got so mad. Now a'days, it's like playing with bots against bots, and if you step out of line, like.. not switching weapons or characters, you're banned.

They actually do a functional store. Fucking RPG session is plagued with shooters and non sense shit.
Clear up the store front from the kusoges, indie asset flip garbage

I've been on Steam for 9 years and only have a few MP titles installed.

Piracy has been good for me - it saved me thousands of dollars.

Not to mention it made recruiting for clans a lot easier, which in turn made building a community a lot easier.
Being able to start a clan with your buddies, rent/buy your own server, and just use it to play games is pretty much impossible nowadays.
Online gaming back then used to just be an extension of LAN gaming where you have people all gathering in one small place to play a game together. Nowadays it's more like being in a fucking giant convention hall surrounded by a bunch of people you don't fucking know and randomly being paired up into groups of 4 or 3 or 6 or whatever the fuck the devs decide.
It just sucks.
>people would just return the game to buy it for the flash sale price so they axed them entirely because of people who abuse returns
I...what?
That's LITERALLY in their refund policy, they account for that.
Pic related.

Any Steam-level chads in this thread?, level 10's need not reply.

Attached: 1521994352310.png (983x294, 186K)

but why

why not?

because you're spending hundreds of dollars on things that aren't videogames on a platform for videogames

We were told before we could even register a steam account that it would be replacing WON no matter what. Putting it off was just laziness

I resisted for so long, I'd always just use emus or play off physical games.

Attached: Capture2.png (420x174, 14K)

I outright refuse to pay money for any multiplayer game that doesn't have community servers, because it's guaranteed to be utterly fucking dead in 2 years and have a dogshit, empty community of soulless assholes.
Nowadays everyone just tries to use Discord to replace this but at the end of the day they still just get sectioned off into groups of 4 or 5.
Having an ENTIRE server of 20, 32, 40, 64, 128 players to have fun with and shoot the shit with and fuck around with and build an ACTUAL relationship with was always the appeal.
Ironically, as gaming has chased the "social" aspect more, it's become more and more anti-social.
People just join their little cliques and safe spaces and never come the fuck out or want to experience anything different, so instead of having a community you have a bunch of sectioned-off groups with nothing in common except that they sometimes play a game together.
Like, at least MMOs have a persistent world and HUBS where you can interact with other people.
Anthem, a game released in 2019, doesn't even have THAT, something that MMOs from the early 2000s had in spades.

Were you a part of the gmod "Billy Mays" meme?

I remember those days

11 years since I played TF2

I mean, I still bought physical games, I was still buying physical copies of PC games as late as 2012, but nowadays everything is fucking digital only or has a physical release LONG after I bought the original release, which kind of defeats the purpose (looking at you Dragon's Dogma).

I have all the games I ever want to play, It was mainly to improve status and reputation when I was doing lots of trading a year ago.

Anyone else remember when the friends list didn't work for like 4 years straight?

>I think we know how previous gens felt when their community based towns got paved over for fast moving soulless inner cities felt now.
Oh god it all makes sense.
Make it stop, please god.
I don't want to go down this road.

You're still a faggot, but that makes some sense. For some reason, if you want to become active in trading you really need a stupidly high level account.

I want more hentai games, preferably cute and funny loli ones.

>loli
they're not letting them on the store now, get stuff like evenicle while you can

Had an older account but my friend brought 1.6 hacks one night, and well, its vac banned and forgotten ever since. Thankfully had a bunch of spare cdkeys thanks to Half-Life Platinum collection.

Who here made a Christmas fag?

I know, that's why I want GabeN to allow them.

it's unlikely to happen as long as the campo santo guys are still messing around with stuff from the inside

>it's been half a year and there's still no new podcast episode
Fucking cucks.

>tfw same
I feel retarded for getting this feeling of being left out.
But now it's just more convenient and pretty much all I pirate are console games.
Man I miss my grafix cat folder

How the fuck did most of you guys even remember your account shit 15 years ago? When I made an account for Half Life 2 I don't even remember what the fuck my account name was cause I was like 11 years old. and didn't even care to use steam anymore after HL2 until 2011

Y'know what's even worse than no community servers? A game that is dependent on developer servers only. One of my favorite titles, a MOBA called Infinite Crisis, literally just shut down one day thanks to the idiotic developers and the money I had spent just vanished because there is no way to access the game anymore. So, you either have to wait until a dedicated group revive the game via hacks, or just let it go and move on. It's such a shit industry these days.

don't look at me like that

Some of us were in our 20's 15 years ago.

I don't even care about the convenience, I'd gladly buy actual physical copies of PC games if people fucking made them and they weren't just CD keys in an empty case.
God, Cyberpunk 2077 can't come soon enough, at least THAT will probably have an actual physical PC version.

Because I was 16 years old 15 years ago

that reminds me of EA shutting down the BF2142 revival project a while back even though they had 0 plans of actually doing anything with the game themselves
what a fucking horrendous company

>he isnt still using his same harddrive from 15 years ago
Is it even possible for these things to last that long? I feel like its going to fail any day now

I used to play lots of CS and DoD.
Now I only play VNs and porn games.

because by the time steam registrations were open I was almost out of highschool

you can still play dod buddy
there's a couple servers out there with real people
I played caen a couple days ago

Loved BF2142. Would like to play it again. But big publishers know if people were to play older games, like BF2142, they'd realize how shit the current ones are and riot.

I don't enjoy shooters anymore

Oh yea, those are the worst.
It was bad enough when it was just F2P games, but nowadays a lot of actual PAID games only let you play on dev-provided servers, so when the servers inevitably shit themselves you're shit out of luck.
I played some weird asymmetrical multiplayer game that had a free weekend last year I think, and I can't even find it anymore because I'm 99% sure that the devs shut the servers down since no one cared about it.
I think it involved you getting transported to some giant arena surrounded by a force field and having to capture these pillar things or whatever and avoid the big bad.
I remember it had some parkour system that it was really proud of that wasn't really all that good anyways.
I still remember my old Newgrounds login info from ~2005 and used it to login a few months ago when Tumblr was kill despite being like 11 when I made that account.
Plus I've always been mainly a PC gamer with some consoles on the side, so obviously I remember all my data on the platform that I'm always playing on.
Don't my original Xbox Live shit though.

You got a day on me.

anyone else like leveling their steam account with badges and other useless stuff for emotes and wallpapers?

Attached: steam.jpg (291x729, 39K)

I miss xfire

It even had a store before steam did, I wonder why it didnt take off like it, it was the largest platform at one point

>tfw lost all videos, screenshots and played hours in just a few days and never got the chance to even do a screenshot

I just get the badges of the main 6 games I like and "feature" them. I find making badges useless overall, however I am addicted to finding certain types of emotes, like the comfy pig from the sale.

30 year old boomer checking in - i used to just write everything down on a big sheet of paper, all my old cd keys, account info and passwords, all my contact info for friends like phone numbers and shit because i didn't have a cell phone till about 6 or 7th grade and it was a brick phone that played snake and had limited memory - before that i had to use a landline to actually call people, talk to their parents and ask if so and so was free to hang out or if i could talk them directly

14

I'll usually buy the other half of cards for a badge after I finish or 100% a game. don't really care about emotes, but I do like the wallpapers.
