Guys in hoodies don't regenerate shields, and in Div 2 even the lowliest of "dudes in hoodies" are wearing military grade body armor. GRAW has some decent entries and R6S isn't really a normal R6 game considering it was designed around being a competitive shooter, but its last entries were pretty good tactical games.

I dont know if that's true or not for Destiny 2, from what I've read it took until Warmind and Forsaken to make something on par with D1, and even then it's supposedly nowhere near as good.

It's absolutely true. And you just restated my point. division 2 is just destiny 2 but for the division instead. All the improvements made with the expacks and patches for balancing were thrown out the window.

Oh I understand it fine, I am well aware that it's a lootershooter, but there are so many ways you can make new gear interesting other than just have them with upgrades to your dps.

Personally I'd be fine if new weapons just had different look, modifications or passive abilities.
When the game has stupid number chasing, it just forces the player to run setups and gear they don't want to use, but do so anyway because "they have better numbers"
All lootershooters are cancer because of this, but it's especially bad in a game like this that tries to be realistic.
Atleast Borderlands, Destiny, Warframe and Anthem have the freedom to create any kind of crazy futuristic / magical weapons they want, while division is just stuck with basic boring projectiles.

As someone who plays destiny, Forsaken makes Destiny 1 look like a joke in terms of activities/things to do and this person is even more wrong, in that Division 2 actually is taking the lessons from Division 1 into the sequel, unlike Destiny even did.

New weapons do have different looks, the guns go up in military grade as you level up and you gain modifications to apply to them as you progress. Higher rarity guns have perks attached to them, the higher the rarity the more the perks. You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. Especially since the level caps out eventually and then you need to find guns to fascilitate playstyles, or you find guns that give you ideas for builds.

You just need to accept how retarded the entire concept of "weapon levelling" is, in a game that tries to be realistic.

There's nothing more immersion breaking and stupid in a shooter game than getting a headshot on a "high level enemy" that shrugs off the damage because "your gun is bad lol"

You can try justify it with "b-but the endgame balances it out!" all you want, it won't make the mechanics any less jarring

the spring/summer setting isn't as interesting as the wintery snowstorm. Also at least the fog/low visibility made sense in the first game but in the 2nd they just have shit distance fog that looks awful

I've been playing with the end-game characters and feels pretty good desu, the whole Black Tusk faction and Invaded missions is pretty cool, plenty of new units and actual AI that tries to flank, push, heal/revive downed AI and agressive with downed players, that with the whole armor system feels pretty fun and tactic to play, more than Div1 where everything was just blast enemy with your M4

Hard mode was pretty cool but still "normal" in a way, there is no Challenging in the beta so I can't say but here's hoping more elites like in D1, with the level of the AI its a recipe for pure fun

It is probably currently well alive because you can get bonus goodies for the sequel by doing special ingame content.
But unless you are in for the lore I don't think its really worth getting. They did apparently make the grind less cancerous in the sequel so maybe you could get it for cheap to enhance your experience in the sequel.

Alive enough to finish the optional raid content probably, and from the looks of things it's worth it more than the sequel if only for the great snowy environments, just make sure to stop playing once you hit level 30 because the Dark Zone is the only end-game content and come level 30 you would've already explored that extensively.

There's some good improvements but also worse changes
The Armor chip system on bosses is a great idea to fix the issue of bullet spongeness without sacrificing strategy and difficulty and the specialist weapons really do add to the endgame in a unique way but the wide open main streets mixed with wider enemy spread means you're gonna get shot from every direction and die in freeroam a lot more than in the first game and the healing system in this game is shit
