It was a combination of her representing what was lost, and Venom being in complete denial over the fact that the cute little angel of MSF being a traitor.
MSF idolized her, and Venom used to be a regular grunt at MSF while she represented everything they fought for: peace.
And turns out even her was a double agent with her own agenda.

How convenient, she forgot everything that happened before and after being in MSF, and her whole personality transformed into that of the beautiful, peace loving teenage girl. The representation of everything all of them used to fight for was back and it was more perfect than ever before.

There is a reason why Big Medic hallucinates a red, bloody demon on him in the mirror seen in the ending before he punches it.

Venom spent tons of time with her as the medic in MSF, and while he was still the medic in the helicopter he failed to locate the second bomb which is why he blames himself for her death when she chose to jump out of the helicopter and blow up.

Yes I know, user. The thing is WHY he did it, how he came to that point and whatnot. It never really felt like Venom was the demon he said he already was. I'll try my best to not sound edgy here but, Big Boss was the demon in MGSV, and I imagine that Venom would have to be a demon aswell to go with the plan of another demon like Big Boss. That's my point. I feel like the twist is a forced attempt to make BB and Venom equal in that regard, but they're not. Venom just says he is while BB is a fucking asshole. Throughout the game, Venom should've gone through things that make this difference irrevelant, stuff far worse than what we actually got. Then they would be equal, and then it would make sense for Venom to accept his role as a villain, because that's what BB obviously is. And I think that Venom was too stupid to see that even after the twist because he liked BB so much. That's really what this twist is. He just liked the idea of being BB and that's stupid.

The hospital level, saving Kaz, the shot of the cast walking towards the camera before OKB Zero, sneaking through OKB zero, killing Skullface/end monologue of chapter 1, killing your men in the quarantine, Huey trial, Paz hallucinations, and Big Boss saying goodbye to Ocelot.
It also has some really fun and well designed levels, the problem is the side missions and the open world were dull as shit.

Paz's story in the PW and TPP tapes is probably the best character writing in the series even if the newer games kind of suck.

I think the game is great. Speaking of diamonds, the diamonds scene is even better than Paz's.
