Of armor. Find a low rank armor set to build(skills dont matter at this point), then go Hub LR. After beating that, finish village Lr, then start building a HR armor set, etc. etc.

I enjoyed it. Not as good as 3U but definately better than world. Worlds skill system and shallow content completely ruined all the fun in making builds. Loved how they streamlined the menu systems though.

Someone has to go post a quest. Others can join the quest at the quest board. Participants who have joined a quest go to the dispatch area and choose to ready up, then the host chooses to embark. Then the quest happens.

It doesn't help much for mobility other than being able to valor sheathe. Use blast dash if you want to go fast.

Valor Gunlance, the Best style/weapon combo for it. You can block/reload and the same time, burst your rounds (in valor) really fast, the WF is the also the strongest I believe. Really no drawbacks, it's the best gunlance experience capcom has delivered so far.

Go up to the Wycademy Gal sitting next to the books and talk to her, then choose a quest. Once you've chosen a quest it'll be posted on the board for others to join as well. The quest board is next to the gal.

gen is torture if you're a completionist and it's the first monhun to burn me out before even hitting g rank.

Everyone fucking hated Generations when it came out. But World shifted so far in its gameplay that now you see people left and right praising Gen for being "classic MH" even though it was the furthest thing at the time of release. It's still a good game though.

Every rank has key quests that need to be cleared to unlock the Urgent quest, which you clear to unlock the next rank. Which quests are the key quests usually ins't told to you, so you'll have to look them up. But generally speaking, they're most often quests with monsters you haven't fought yet.

When frozen entirely you have to keep moving, take minor damage, or use a cleanser.

I'm in a friend's room now clearing some quest, but you can join and post whatever you want.

When you get inflicted with Snowball rotate the joystick and mash X and A to escape. You can still run by holding R and roll by pressing B. You can also use a cleanser to escape instantly. You'll likely also be inflicted with iceblight, which speeds up the rate at which you lose stamina and max stamina, so try to clear that with a Nulberry or another way. Palicos have multiple ways of clearing it.

Palicos can do a few different things. You can bring them as partners on hunts, and they have their own stats and weapons and skills and such, it's pretty elaborate. You can also send them on the trader to farm for common materials like honey and mushrooms, they'll gather more as quests go by. And you can send them on the Meownster Hunters, where you play a short minigame and they'll go find monster materials for you. You can also directly play as them, by selecting one as your Prowler and switching to Prowler mode.

Palicos are fine

from the menu it looks like you're just buying a set amount up to 10

Go to your house and go to the palico board. On the top is "Prowlers", in the drop down choose a palico to be set as your Prowler, then choose "Switch modes", and you'll switch to controlling your Prowler. Prowlers can take on any quest a Hunter can, but have some different systems in play.
You can only equip two pieces of armor to a Palico/Prowler, and one weapon which cannot be upgraded. You have to make a stronger one. Palico weapons never lose sharpness though.
Palicos have less health and infinite stamina, and natural immunity to heat/cold. They also have 2 acorns that are used as extra lives, you'll lose an acorn when you first hit 0 HP instead of cart, and once both acorns are gone you'll cart from the next defeat. You can recover acorns by sleeping at the base camp.
Palicos and Prowlers have infinite bug nets and pickaxes, but cannot use items. Instead as you deal damage you'll build up a gauge, that lets you use support moves that cost bars off that gauge. Some moves are good, others kind of useless.
Palicos and Prowlers also can dig underground, which lets you dodge certain attacks. They also come with built-in psychic, so they can always see the location of monsters on the map. Like Hunters, Palicos come in different Biases, which will change their AI in fighting and which support moves they favor and which stats they'll have, and they play differently as Prowlers too. A Palico's bias is determined at hiring and you cannot change it.

Whoops I'm half asleep and can't read. For the farm talk to your housekeeper and choose "Trader", select a Palico to send out, choose a farm and material, then choose how many quests you want the Palico to farm for, and offer a gratuity if you have one. As you play through the game you'll unlock more carts to send out at once and more farms to trade with.

You got hit the first time because you got paralyzed, not a knockdown. The other two times you got up. So if you get knocked down and the monster is really aggressive, don't touch the joystick at all until it commits to an attack, then get up and run.

Gen doesn't have the shitty track mechanic so it's better than worlds. Franchise went to shit after 4U though, I get that they want to try something new but god the styles are so stupid.

I started playing online instantly, gen is the worst with gathering and killing small enemies quests in village and it's a rehash of the games i've already played, so.
