Perfect example of how aesthetics, tone and build up can carry a boss fight.
From a gameplay standpoint this fight is actually pretty trash. His moveset is extremely basic and predictable, but the build up and design are top notch. It works really well as a spectacle even if its pretty shallow mechanically. It helps that it did these things when 3D was new so it was extra impressive at the time.
