I don't know about you but I don't want to pay a large sum of money just to run around the map and watch a +10 sign pop out of the screen every now and then while a retarded kid with braces is shouting over the microphone. I grew up on games which had rules, tactics, balance, and a high skill ceiling. If you want to play that shit - that's fine, but I don't see what sort of justification you can give to make shelling out full price for something that was universally panned and feels like they made it yesterday. Not to mention all of the retarded shit that came after MW2 which is literally a glorified asset swap every time.

CoD2 was perfect in that regard - the maps were actually more fitting given the allowed player numbers so they didn't turn into clusterfucks, you had three (was it three?) well defined classes, each with a different set of weapons. Everything worked as intended, no artificial bullshit.

Of course CoD2 itself was a step backwards from UO which actually featured vehicles and much bigger maps and played better, and the entire series (as well as MoHAA) was a step back from games like Jedi Outcast.

Modern Warfare 2's campaign was alright, but the multiplayer is where things started to go wrong

Because MW1 remastered multiplayer had more people playing than the CoD it came with. The devs can't handle seeing first hand that the game they worked nights and weekends on while ignoring their families is shittier than a 10 year old game.
