You can do a good game by yourself.

was there one? does it need to have one?
the entire game is the dev asking himself "can i make a full game?" and successfully answering "yeah i can".

There was none

He didn't do it by himself tho.

idk about UT
but deltarune has an explicitly anti-transgender message

the first quote after the character creator gag is "you cant choose what you are in this world" or something like that

Any game with that much text should probably have some sort of meaning..

That's pretty cool if that's how it was intended. But Undertale had so much gay shit so I doubt.

>probably
any "probably" has a chance of not being true, else it's not a "probably" but a "definitely" instead

The game has a message for every character, but the two main ones are "don´t judge people to quickly (all the characters hide something important about them)" and a desire to be nice (the game admits at the end that thing are not that simple in the real world)
Also metacommentary about rpg systems and how to improve them for a more engaging experience.

Middle routes are for bitches

Killing gays belongs in games

Deltarune you can view even as political commentary, basically Susie is a fucking Trump supporter, if you push her to much she goes with the bad guys, if you can deal with her in a way she can understand you she can improve

Senator armstrong > Trump

> but deltarune has an explicitly anti-transgender message
Goddamn. I don't think it's a transphobic message at all, but I'm really surprised that nobody has misinterpreted it this way until now.

Be a cringey faggot

Yeah. There is a chance that a game can justify a lot of text with no message. It's unlikely though.

Fish are fuckable

It really is suprising. There's so much gay shit in UT though.
Well that's a stretch.

something on the lines of that you shouldn't see everyone you are fighting against as inhuman monsters.

Sticking your dick in animals is perfectly acceptable

Goats are cute

Diversity is good and violence is bad

I think the quote is saying you can’t choose how you were born.
And in tranny mind they believe they ARE the gender they weren’t born as.

C'mon anons be honest, you dont actually want to discuss the message if the game, you are to dismiss the game, shit on sjw or talk about your furry fetish

Fish pussy is good

This is what I'm thinking.
But if the game includes sjw shit...

Don't kill, and don't be killed. Sometimes that's the best you can hope for

Probably that as long as you're determined, you can do anything.

It's pretty shallow for a game with so much acclaim.

Defending yourself from literal monsters is mean and unfair and you should roll over like a bitch boy and take it.

gee user what do you think are the odds that the plot will end up coming around to have that same character say "you CAN choose"
did you happen to notice that DT is a happy game

tfw Undyne will never German suplex you

The message is that everyone and anyone can be redeemed.

I think Toby is a christfag (or was at least raised as such) that doesn't hate the gays, so that's where it comes from.

I'm looking forward to seeing whether/how Deltarune plays with the idea.

Having the ability to do something in a game doesn't mean you have an obligation to do it.

That 100 percenting games to explore every single possible avenue and decision has some questionable implications.

does the game ever say that? despite all the shit Frisk really does get guilt-tripped for, I don't seem to recall ever being reprimanded for killing Asgore, Undyne, or the random encounter monsters.

Isn't he indian or some shit?

>I think Toby is a christfag (or was at least raised as such)
this is absolutely getting addressed in Deltarune. I'll put ten bucks on it. Toriel raised Kris and Asriel religious, it seems like Asriel took to it more than Kris did. I'm really eager to see what he does with the concept

Yes, and I think it goes a little farther than that. Some people like a game so much that they feel like they have to do it, even though they don't have to.

I think it's very interesting that some of the characters make the bravest and most noble decisions only when you are as terrible as possible. They become their best selves, through their opposition to you.

Faggots and furries are bad people, so kill them all.

fictional characters in computer games are just graphics attached to lines of code with no internal subjective experience of the universe. you cannot make them "happy" and it doesn't matter what happens to them. thus it's okay to "kill" them, or do anything you want to them, for your own entertainment.

No seriously I think that's the message

does he look Indian to you?

this video gets it right, that said I disagree with a big part of undertale's message
Resetting your save doesn't mean you forgot whatever it is you got out of the first run, and I don't think it's good for a game to guilt-trip you for wanting to experience it again. Mother 3 isn't a game that's strongly about its meta-narrative but it handles this much better by having Lucas acknowledge the reality that, if you ever do decide to do it all again, everyone's going to be fine by the end.

You can't save everyone

It's interesting that Sans, a good character, gets this and kind of implies that he understands that it's nothing personal when you fight him, and Chara, who is basically a demon, says that your playthrough was borne out of, as they put it, a "perverted sentimentality".

Guess not lol
