the main dungeon Tartarus is literally 300 floors or something that you progress through throughout the entire duration of the game. it's not as bad as people claim it to be. the scenery changes and the music progresses and you don't need to grind beyond the random enemies you encounter. anyone who complains about Tartarus has the attention span of an ant

After just beating 3 I didn't think it was that bad, The Answer can fuck off though with not being able to warp to the room before bosses and no compendium, felt like a worse Persona Q. I wouldn't be that mad at The Answer though if it wasn't for the forced duo with Metis at the end who was level 25 for me and I had to spend 5 hours grinding her up while for some reason every other party member I didn't use just gets a free upgrade to level 77, also my party members sucking up my elemental immunity accessories from the door-kun fight so I couldn't use them on the duo fights

Too be honest I could go either way with boobs or Thigh. I just had to settle for one on my tier list. I had thighs above boobs at first but swapped.

5 suffered from peaking too early in terms of story. The first two palaces felt like they had a strong connection to the characters and really made you hate the rulers. It never really recovered from that.

Can't help but feel they got the order wrong, the Yakuza boss should have been the second guy with you being friends with a classmate getting loansharked, trying to help thinking it was just some thug then instead of the stupid blackmail scene, you saw the boss going after the family of your friends.

Also never really felt like you had the whole scooby gang thing of P4. The characters didn't do enough stuff together.

It's almost like the story gradually increased the stakes from individual all the way up to society-changing while also emphasizing that being a good person means fighting for others even if something doesn't directly affect you.

the mob boss one shouldn't have even happened. Makoto went full retard, despite being the "brains" of the group. they really messed up that part of the story and it should have been handled differently.

At the time, Persona 3 was new and exciting. It was 10x better than any SMT game (still is) and I thought there would be hours upon hours of post game socializing with the females and characters...then this happened.

Yeah, Haru being introduced an arc or two earlier definitely would have helped. As she was only introduced late, tied very heavily to the plot, it was hard to do anything with her. This wasn't like P4 where you had to give each character their own dungeon to introduce them (and Naoto got introduced long before her dungeon anyway).

I know Atlus will never change Persona at this point but P3 - 5 all feel the same to me on a more basic level. Even the stories have the similar structures. Especially with the finale, where the main villain is revealed in November and everything that happens after.

And I don't even mean the "lol Igor was a fake!" twist, I mean the fact that Persona games, by virtue of them being Persona games, are rooted in psychology and therefore the "main villain" is always going to be a representation of some kind of flawed aspect of society. Sure literally the characters are punching a god of control in the face to free humanity, but really they're combating all of society itself and freeing it from its own distorted flaws, which is even explicitly clear in the game itself. The main villain isn't an actual god, it's society itself.

There are a few avenues for them to improve on.

First is making the dungeons a bit more natural and less corridor mazes (but that's a minor, likely budget related, issue)

Second is making the structure less rigid. The town or city you're being based in being more of an open world to freely explore, more things to do and less control over the things you do each day (more random activities, fewer things that advance time).

Lastly relationships not stopping at max. I want to go on full dates as an actual couple, get new scenes, possibly new rewards but definitely not be penalized for spending the time with them over doing something productive.

Pro tip. Keep Lucky Punch on Morgana. Do not use Miracle Punch. Get Dormina and keep it on Ann.
Now get Joker a high luck Persona, preferrably with less than 5-8 Strength (optional very low magic too if preferred), with Lucky Punch as well.
Using this you can repeatedly Hold Up an enemy, and force them to give you an item. It doesn't matter if you're incompatible, eventually they WILL cough up skill cards. Do for every battle.
Once you get Yusuke you can start mass producing Skill Cards, basically banking skills and overriding innate skill learning affinity. They carry over NG+ cycles too. I have one of every obtainable skill card from mobs.

Skill cards are good because they let you mod your level 99s in your compendium without buying said personas again.

I solo'd the reaper non-flu on Hard with just Ongyo-ki with his default moveset, and added only Regeneration 2 and used the Rush command. He comes with Regeneration 3. Did not use any SP skill because Reaper has Drain.

Also when did using Yusuke's confidant become not playing the game normally? Are you a brainlet or something? Hold Ups are objectively superior to killing shadows. And because for most of the game the money they give is bad and the items they give are bad, you might as well go for the skill cards. Use the mementos bosses to farm money.

4. 3 is a mixed bag. The protagonist feels irrelevant to the overall plot for much of the story, Tartarus is shit, but the music is really good and Junpei is the best-written character in the series. 3 isn't a grimdark game, but 4 is more light-hearted and more fun to play, it is just really bogged down by everyone sucking YuChad Thundercock's dick all the time.

PQ1 is a solid game, the character writing is fucking painful at times though, everyone is reduced to a one note cardboard cutout of themselves. The P4 side has it especially rough because they already do that a bit in their native game. Early on it's challenging like and Etrian Odyssey game but the balance totally breaks later.
PQ2 isn't out yet in English but the early impressions are that it's not great.
