I hope whoever wrote this game continue in the game industry. it made me actually play a dungeon crawler.

Arguable and I think the point is she is never actually "redeemed". She learns to appreciate and care for people who appreciate and care for because she finally experiences it properly through Visco and Hundred Knight, so she becomes less selfish regarding them, and even sacrificial by the end, but her personality regarding others, and her intentions and goals are still the same.

And that's why I love her. She's legitimately evil, and the game isn't a story about her turning good. It's about her learning companionship, learning when being selfish isn't always in her best interests, yet not necessarily changing who she is. I LOVE that.

Oh I know, I'm not saying she becomes an amazing person. But she does have a little arc where she cares about someone other than herself. The game was surprisingly effective at bringing you along for that ride ... I nearly shouted at my TV screen when I got the first ending, that was fucked up

I'm playing it right now, chapter 10, and it's surprising how well written her character is. I thought they were trying to do another "evil but for good reasons" character like zero but she's just a foul-mouthed chuuni..
it's a pity that the 3D presentation of this game is so ugly.

i know that the director and writer of the first one decided to work on Refrain instead of the sequel for some reasons, and that's already a big turnoff

She says at the start, she created a pocket dimension, similar to the one you start in during the tutorial, which is replica of the real world. She has you cause chaos within it so that it becomes unstable and she can essentially tear it apart and use it to reassemble the real dimension in such a way that goatboy hasn't fucked it up.

Okay. I just remember some parts it seemed to imply she was causing events that you see earlier. Like the chaos she was causing was bleeding over and she basically caused everything fucked up to happen because she was so desperate to remake the world. Seems like a neat idea to me.

I highly recommend you play it. You could not like the gameplay but the story carries the game pretty fucking hard.

Storywise, none of the characters are nearly as interesting or fun as the cast from the original game (maybe except the gay crow).

Gameplay wise, they did make the combat a bit better, but they also made exploring a chore because every area is now a samey randomly-generated map that changes every time you leave the area. This means that every time you have to backtrack to an old area you have to explore the whole thing to find the exit, which gets tedious.

how could you guys tolerate the gameplay of hundred knights?
story was kind of interesting but the gameplay itself is such a slog that i had to tap out after the first boss fight against Metallica's mom and when that puppy girl came in

It's a puzzle platformer with a fairytale story. Pretty straight forward, smaller scale project.

I loved it a lot, though I'm a sucker for the whole "I want to be with you but I'm too much of a monster to do so" thing.

If your take based on the trailer is that it looks "shit and emotionally charged" then I'm not sure what to say. It's very clearly got that emotional fairy tale thing going on.
