Had a beast of a launch lineup though.

Afaik niggas went in and stole a dev kit and got rid of an antipiracy .bin scrambler that would have corrupted burnt games.

This. I would also add generally bad marketing (the Sega special) and the fact that it still sticked really hard to that "Arcade at home" mindset when Arcade was basically already dead in the West.
It still has some amazing games and is probably one my favourite console of all time.

they had a shitty reputation regarding hardware after all the Genesis tumors they thought up. Saturn was shit too.
PS1 and PS2 killed SEGA.
